Henry Cavill Doesn't Believe That A JUSTICE LEAGUE Movie Is "Around The Corner"

Reaffirming what both Man of Steel director Zack Snyder and many fans have said about there needing to be more solo movies in order to build up to Justice League, Henry Cavill shares his thoughts on the potential of the superhero ensemble and the likelihood of when it will happen.

Despite recent reports that Man of Steel screenwriter David Goyer has been tasked by Warner Bros. with writing both the sequel to that and an eventual Justice League movie, those involved with the film were quick to point out that they believe Superman at the very least needs another big screen outing before that happens. With such a large roster of characters to introduce - Aquaman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, etc. - it does indeed seem obvious that at another couple of solo movies are needed in order to lay the foundations of the DC Cinematic Universe. As it turns out, this is a sentiment that Henry Cavill agrees with. "Justice League could be great if done correctly. It's a very tough one to do because the DC comic heroes are all god-like in their power. So in this real world setting we're telling our story in, it's going to be tough to achieve that and it has to be done very delicately with a lot of thought," he said of the potential of the movie. As for when he believes Justice League should happen, Cavill added: "So, it won't be right away, I hope it's not anyway. It may take some time of building up other movies and other characters and introducing them together in one way or another. I think it would be great to do, but I don't think it's around the corner." What do you guys think? Sound off below!

He's right.
EdgyOutsider - 6/25/2013, 9:04 AM
Good man. He pretty much said "The way to Justice League is what Marvel did with The Avengers". Everyone here knows that instead of those who believe introducing all the characters in one movie could work.
TheEnd - 6/25/2013, 9:05 AM
Of cause it takes time! but DC has been given forever!!!
TheWolverine08 - 6/25/2013, 9:10 AM
Justice League in 3015!
DamienA - 6/25/2013, 9:11 AM
Yep he's right sequel,WF and then a JL. I'd go in that order.
fettastic - 6/25/2013, 9:12 AM
Yes the video was posted here yesterday.
PsyGuy - 6/25/2013, 9:12 AM
Can we stop talking about this until SDCC!
Omarvls - 6/25/2013, 9:12 AM
DC/WB has to get the ball moving for God's Sake
I mean Marvel has already about 9 movies between 2013/2018 while DC/WB still can't decide want it wants to do
Did they get spooked by MOS second weekend numbers?
frova - 6/25/2013, 9:13 AM
Honestly they need to take their time on it if they want it to actually be a good film
JordanKing - 6/25/2013, 9:13 AM
First honest word to come out of anyone over there.
ALegendaryPanda - 6/25/2013, 9:14 AM
Only a matter of time before faggots like Sage and Ineedadickinmyass show up.
Omarvls - 6/25/2013, 9:14 AM
That is true JL powers are GOD like so after MOS and all it's destruction what do you do with JL? Maybe another planet or something?
SaxoWolf - 6/25/2013, 9:14 AM
Man of Steel 2
Wonder Woman
Green Lantern
Batman Reboot
World's Finest
Justice Leage
ParisSun - 6/25/2013, 9:14 AM
Works for me. Give us MoS 2 with a side characters like Flash and Cyborg. DC will then have to take a chance with a Wonder Woman movie and a Green Lantern reboot with John Stewart with the ring starring non other than Will Smith.
CUAD - 6/25/2013, 9:16 AM
Actors don't run the big corporations.
fanDomX - 6/25/2013, 9:16 AM
No shame in going down the same path Marvel used. In fact i think it makes it that much more exciting when we see the hero's together for the fist time, after first learning about them in their solo films. But that may be just me.
DamienA - 6/25/2013, 9:17 AM
Omarvis- how can they have been spooked? Cavill, Snyder have been saying all along that Supes need more experience heading into a JL movie. You can't just drop him in there after one outing and this one hasn't got much experience either.
Shadowelfz - 6/25/2013, 9:17 AM
Good. Be patient, WB. Still, it might not work in the same way as it did for Avengers. Both GL and Man of Steel had mixed reviews so any further solo outings will be under extra scrutiny, deserved or not. Maybe just making a JL movie and working backwards from there might be the better option?
CrimsonFlash - 6/25/2013, 9:18 AM
Thank god. They need to do it right like marvel has done. Henry was a good superman. Too bad the script was kinda bad
BatsFan - 6/25/2013, 9:18 AM
2015 - MOS 2
2016 - Batman/Superman and Flash/Green Lantern
2017 - Justice League
Danielm2048 - 6/25/2013, 9:19 AM
I agree with him.
TheAbomination - 6/25/2013, 9:20 AM
He makes a good point though.
GodzillaKart - 6/25/2013, 9:21 AM
Probably wise.
Kolossus - 6/25/2013, 9:22 AM
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Choke on your failed Super-fag movie DC douchebags!
Omarvls - 6/25/2013, 9:22 AM
Worlds Finest or JL to go against Avengers 2
Wonder Woman vs Dr.Strange
Flash vs Black Panther
Batman vs Thor 3
and so on DC/WB has to start looking at this as a competition that could only last another decade and Marvel is already planting it's flag
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 6/25/2013, 9:24 AM
Good. He is 100% right
ALegendaryPanda - 6/25/2013, 9:24 AM

You're actually too stupid to exist
XK1D - 6/25/2013, 9:24 AM
WB should see MOS as they're Iron-Man and start to plan out they're DC cinematic universe properly instead of rushing out films to try to catch up to Marvel's success.
DrRockit13 - 6/25/2013, 9:26 AM
Honestly i would be ok with not seeing batman until Justice League. Mention him a little in other films. Keep everything secretive like what Marvel did, with what Colsen was up to. Make it seem like with the world knowing who Superman is and other heroes popping up and being in the public eye, Make Batman seem like a myth, like he had been around before Superman, but people didn't think he was real, and then have him show up to help the others and all of them be surprised he's real. Kind of like how Hal's reaction to him in the beginning of The new 52 Justice League, and Superman doesn't really trust him. (at first)
JoeMomma29 - 6/25/2013, 9:28 AM
Well we shall have to wait to see what DC announces at SDCC.
Omarvls - 6/25/2013, 9:29 AM
I'm with you I think DC/WB will announce some crazy stuff ant comic con that will blow us away I predict

World's Finest
Wonder Woman
MrReese - 6/25/2013, 9:30 AM
WF first the rest can follow.
Nubase - 6/25/2013, 9:30 AM
There you have, straight from superman mouth himself.

We should all just chill and forget about how WE should think when and how it needs to be done.

JL will happen for not for a long time yet.

Let Marvel do their thing, its not about catching up with them., if it means that JL won't come till 2018 so be it.
SnapperCarr - 6/25/2013, 9:30 AM
Henry is a smart guy.
JoeMomma29 - 6/25/2013, 9:31 AM
Yeah personally DC finally needs to get their $hit together! To me this is their last chance to put something on the big screen with multiple heroes etc...

If not we are back to Batman movies!
hummingbird68 - 6/25/2013, 9:31 AM
2015 MOS 2 & The Flash
2016 Worlds finest & Wonder Woman movie
2017 Justice League

2013 WB need to give DC their own studio ASAP

ForeverPowerful - 6/25/2013, 9:31 AM
Henry should be in charge, he's got better ideas than anyone I've seen so far.
JoeMomma29 - 6/25/2013, 9:32 AM
If DC/WB is smart they need to do their future movies like LOTR by filming several movies at once and releasing back to back.
Liverpool4life - 6/25/2013, 9:33 AM
People need to stop saying that a World's Finest movie has to come before Justice League. In era where movies cost $200 million and change. WB/DC aren't listening to fanboy wet dreams. All we need is Wonder Woman and Flash. Superman, Batman and GL have been introduced to the public mind (for better or worse). If they want a MOS sequel, maybe do that one as well. Ultimately, JL need only to start with a small core and see what happens. As for those who want Aquaman in his own movie, to quote Raj Koothrappali: "He sucks underwater. He sucks fish pee."

Save him for phase two.
NBAfanaddict - 6/25/2013, 9:33 AM
Well said mister Cavill!
