Superman vs Iron Man assumes it's an equal match between films. When one is clearly superior as shown above.
Poolio - 12/16/2013, 11:58 AM
I liked Man of Steel more than Iron Man 3, but come on...we all know its going to RDJ
ALegendaryPanda - 12/16/2013, 12:01 PM
So Captain Phillips gets a visual effects nomination over Man of Steel....................................okay...
Poolio - 12/16/2013, 12:03 PM
I say most of the time, the nominations and awards don't go out to the most deserving, but to who I call "critic darlings". It's BS.
Poolio - 12/16/2013, 12:05 PM
Iron Man 3 was and still is, a steaming piece of shit!
superotherside - 12/16/2013, 12:06 PM
That's a tough one. I liked both.
Omarvls - 12/16/2013, 12:07 PM
No Chance

Superman all the way
jerryblake - 12/16/2013, 12:08 PM
only one nomination for "Prisoners".
Gotta see that movie and see what's the case here.

Glad to see Asa is nominated for "Ender's Game".
Best sf movie of 2013 and a total surprise as well.

No art direction nomination for Wolverine ? This sucks.
JoeMomma29 - 12/16/2013, 12:09 PM
Both are great actors, but lets say MOS!
ALegendaryPanda - 12/16/2013, 12:12 PM

Yeah I just noticed that. WTF? Lol I guess Chiwetel has a twin we don't know about
jerryblake - 12/16/2013, 12:12 PM

lol. There must be some mistake here.

Being nominated in two best actor categories ... Priceless
Poolio - 12/16/2013, 12:13 PM
I could list about a 100 other reasons, but Honest Trailers already did that for me. I made a comparison before that the Marvel Studios movies are like the original Star Wars trilogy and Iron Man 3 is the Star Wars prequels, that are shit, but because its Star Wars (or in this case Marvel) people still let it slide.
OnePunchBaldy - 12/16/2013, 12:13 PM
MOS. They're gonna pick RDJ, but Cavil is the perfect Supes
ManDeth - 12/16/2013, 12:13 PM
This means nothing and adds nothing to any nominated film in any category.
Iron Man 3 is a giant pile of crap held up by the current popularity of RDJ.
OnePunchBaldy - 12/16/2013, 12:14 PM

Story of Iron Man 3 and the plot was good. Doesn't make it a good movie.
beane2099 - 12/16/2013, 12:15 PM
They're also up against Brad Pitt and Marky Mark. IMO it really comes down to RDJ vs. Pitt.
imaginejim - 12/16/2013, 12:16 PM
OmegaDaGod: it is supposed to be Michael Fassbender for the supporting actor, not Chiwetel Ejiofor.
supermarioworldE - 12/16/2013, 12:19 PM
As disappointing as IM3, at least RDJ gave a good performance. Better than anyone else on that list (haven't seen Lone Survivor)
imaginejim - 12/16/2013, 12:20 PM
Iron Man 3 was a good movie. That's my opinion just as it is others. People may not like it and that's their opinion. No one opinion is better than another and trying to force your opinion on someone else is ridiculous. Movies are subjective. Learn to accept other people's opinions, but respectively disagree and life is so much better. I've never understood the pointless need to force one's opinion on another.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 12/16/2013, 12:21 PM
Man of Steel was very good but didn't feel like a SUPERMAN movie.
Iron Man 3 was just pure shit so

Man of Steel>Iron Man 3 even tho it's not sayin that much.
TheFox - 12/16/2013, 12:22 PM
Henry Cavill! HENRY CAVILL!!!

I have not felt this strongly about a guy playing Superman since Christopher f%$#ing Reeve. Cavill IS the Man of Steel, and he brought humanity and emotion to a character who was, I will readily admit, somewhat thinly written.

Everyone knows Robert Downey Jr. is a great Tony Stark, but c'mon, the guy has been recognized for it more than enough. GIVE IT TO HENRY CAVILL, DAMMIT!

supermarioworldE - 12/16/2013, 12:24 PM
On another note, the cast of 12 years a slave deserves every award. Great performances all around.
DeathstrokeTerminator - 12/16/2013, 12:24 PM
What I don't get is how when Marvel screws over Iron Man's number one villain, it's perfectly okay. But when DC tries to modernize Superman, its too much. WTF?
McNyagano - 12/16/2013, 12:25 PM
We all know who's going to win between Cavil and Downey lol But who knows, it could go either way :)
HellsHammer - 12/16/2013, 12:25 PM
Man of steel isn't wen nominated for best action movie?! What?!
SageMode - 12/16/2013, 12:25 PM
How did I know this was a Josh Wilding article? lol.

RDJr for the motha[frick]in win!!
HellsHammer - 12/16/2013, 12:26 PM
Isn't EVEN nominated****
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 12/16/2013, 12:26 PM
Cavill is the perfect choice for Superman. NO one would have been better. This proves it right here:

jerryblake - 12/16/2013, 12:27 PM

"i wanna thank PinkGusto for giving me this award.
I feel trully completed now.

My work ... has paid.

I worked so hard to have most twisted sex fantasy ever, spend so much time thinking about sex.

There were people who said i can't do it ... well ... guess what ?

(quoting Will Smith)
Don't ever let somebody tell you... You can't do something. You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want somethin', go get it. Period.

Thank you !!!!!!"

ALmazing - 12/16/2013, 12:27 PM
MoS got snubbed for VFX again.
knocturnalzen10 - 12/16/2013, 12:27 PM
u guys enjoy smoking that crack head shit if u want. some of u marvel fans really don't read comics an then view flims off of hope. RDj made tony his own but IM3 was [frick]ing purgatory
Niklander - 12/16/2013, 12:29 PM
@JasonBourneCBMIron Man 3 had good premise but it failed miserably. You wanna tell me that Killian who was supposed to be the mastermind who acts behind the cameras gets to reveal himself in front of President Ellis and why ask for help from Tony if he wanted to destroy him in the first place!?After the twist movie became bulllshit for me.MOS on the other hand could have been dealt better in terms of editing and pacing but still BOTH MOVIES WERE GOOD.Now mr gtfo with your flamewar
It's been 6 months since both movies got released STOP SAYING WHICH IS BETTER AND WHICH ONE IS NOT!!!!!!
Greengo - 12/16/2013, 12:30 PM
Downey is already established as a good actor.

I think Cavill should win since this was his first HUGE role and he nailed it, IMO.
SageMode - 12/16/2013, 12:30 PM
Cavill IS the Man of Steel, and he brought humanity and emotion

LMAO. I'm sorry, that literally made me lol a bit. Well actually, a lot.
ALmazing - 12/16/2013, 12:31 PM
I am glad that Cavill got nominated thought, as much as I disliked MoS, I do not blame any of it on him, he really personifies the character and under different direction I think he could have been, and still can be, the ultimate Superman.
DeathstrokeTerminator - 12/16/2013, 12:33 PM
I think Cavill has a bright future ahead of him,
jerryblake - 12/16/2013, 12:36 PM

i don't think that's what Will Smith meant ;)
i think you kinda overinterpreted his words Old Pink Man.

Neverless here's the son for you. With love. From Jerry. Too you.

SageMode - 12/16/2013, 12:37 PM
I had my own displeasure of the Mandarin situation only because Marvel missed an opportunity to reinvent an Iron Man villain from that Fu-Manchu Chinese stereotype. But for Mandarin to bring hailed as Iron Man's archenemy, he played no part in any of IM's defining story arcs (Demon In A Bottle, Armor Wars, and Extremis). But the way the reaction was, you'd thought there was a huge number of Mandarin fans for decades.
TexasAvenger - 12/16/2013, 12:38 PM
Man of Steel wasn't all that good.
