"I was commissioned by DC/WB to do a few concept promo shots for Man of Steel that's in the theaters this weekend." - Keron Grant

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

Man Of Steel was directed by Zack Snyder, from a script written by David Goyer. The cast includes: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Ayelet Zurer, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Christopher Meloni, Harry Lennix, Laurence Fishburne and Richard Schiff. In theaters June 14th, 2013!

The girl that plays Lara is pretty hot.
Fogs - 6/21/2013, 11:42 AM
The Kryptonian armor looks like a theron guard from gears of war.
Jolt17 - 6/21/2013, 11:45 AM
Very cool. They nail the looks of the Kryptonians - the councilmen's costumes are pretty close to some old depiction of Jor-El I often saw, back then; not sure where from, but the headdress, green color, and ornaments are very similar, as far as I remember.

Despite featuring in the trailer and prominantly in a children's story book, Nam-Ek was all but cut out of the finished film. Maybe he'll be in a director's cut more?

By the way, I'm pretty sure there will be a director's cut of Man of Steel because when you bought the tickets for Walmart's Premiere Night you got a VUDU code that not only unlocked 3 episodes of the animated series and the prequel comic, but also the ability to pre-order the Blu-ray.

Why do I bring this up? Because the pre-order is for "Man of Steel (theatrical)".
Darthkostis - 6/21/2013, 11:46 AM
The Kryptonians look like Gallifreyans.

those supes concept art look like the artist that does all the paintings of character designs for Final Fantasy's. His name escapes me right now. Really good.
aRandomSinisterClone - 6/21/2013, 11:55 AM
has there been anything official about the prequel comic and the movie, Name Ek, was in the ship 18,000 years ago, but is also on Zod's strike team? [frick]ing goyer, lazy sloppy writer.
thewonderer - 6/21/2013, 12:00 PM
Was he even called namek in the film?
GuardianAngel - 6/21/2013, 12:00 PM

Thanks for letting us all know.
LFANCH - 6/21/2013, 12:03 PM
I don't think he was even mentioned in the film. He was just kinda there.
fettastic - 6/21/2013, 12:12 PM
The only time Nam-Ek appears in the film now is when he Hulk-jumps onto the plane and smashes the cockpit in. At least, that's the only time I remember seeing him.

In the trailer we see a shot of him with an explosion in the background and flaming debris bouncing off his head.

I remember one idiot on here pointing to that shot and saying "It's Lex in a power suit!"

Nam-Ek stole the show

Lol but seriously if I saw that [frick]er running at me I'd probably shit myself
ekrolo2 - 6/21/2013, 12:49 PM
Lol the guys actually called Nam-Ek? Its official, this IS the best DBZ movie yet lol.
yonny616 - 6/21/2013, 12:55 PM
I knew those damn Nam-Ek(ians) couldn't be trusted. -__-
kinghulk - 6/21/2013, 1:18 PM
klarkscent- nearly all film are like that but for this film to be ranked 3rd after one viewing is very good considering im not a huge supes fan but this film made me love him he didnt feel perfect or unbeatable like he normally does and in this film not only does he punch someoenne he alos helps level a large part of the city, it was awsome zack snyder did a great job and so did everyone else.
Greengo - 6/21/2013, 1:35 PM
@fett: I think that "explosion in the background" scene from the preview was actually Zod removing his flaming cape.

And Nam-ek was in several more shots than just the "Hulk jump" onto jet scene. He tag teamed Supes with Faora and through a train engine on top of him...

I still remember that flaming locomotive flying through the air... so awesome.
Greengo - 6/21/2013, 1:36 PM
@Maestro: in case you were wondering... I dont give a F.UCK!

: )

That really tall guy that was with faora was pretty beast
Bearjew - 6/21/2013, 2:08 PM
Are there no blak Kryptonians in Man of Steel? It make sense in saying that the channel of events that caused some people to become black did not take place on Krypton which could also be why it's asian
dnno1 - 6/21/2013, 2:26 PM
@Vision91, someone theorized that since they were able to genetically engineer their offspring, they were able to filter out that trait.
RichardHedski - 6/21/2013, 2:39 PM
MOS 0.5/5. Faora was the only decent thing about that abortion of a movie even is she were kind of butch.

Nam-Ek? Gee, that's not ripping off of Dragon Ball Z.

Magog - 6/21/2013, 3:08 PM
@OhThePurdue, Actually Nam-ek was created by DC in 1974 while Dragonball was created in 1984.
yonny616 - 6/21/2013, 3:09 PM
@Purdue You do realize Nam-Ek is an actual character in the comics.
ALmazing - 6/21/2013, 3:09 PM
The Cryptonian elders looked like they came out of a Tarsem Singh movie. Less could have been more, something that could have applied to the whole movie really... like less death, that would have been nice.
ALmazing - 6/21/2013, 3:12 PM
@beto, and MoS was fight, fight, fight, flash back, fight, fight, fight, death, death and more death.
Emjeed - 6/21/2013, 3:19 PM
@aRandomSinisterClone I was gonna ignore you like everyone else but your ignorance and lack of drive to actually talk about something you know bothers me. Nam-Ek is NOT in the prequel comic. That's Dev-Em. Next time, at least know your shit before using as munitions to drive your dislike for a certain writer.
Emjeed - 6/21/2013, 3:22 PM
@OhthePurdue.. Still riding the Brandon Routh dick i see
Emjeed - 6/21/2013, 3:25 PM
@Vision91 there are black Kryptonians. When you read the prequel comic you'll see that. Kara's fiance or whatever was black. But.. Even in krypton the black people die first.. Lol
Witcher - 6/21/2013, 3:29 PM
"like less death, that would have been nice."
"like less death, that would have been nice."
"like less death, that would have been nice."
"like less death, that would have been nice."
"like less death, that would have been nice."
"like less death, that would have been nice."

instant classic
ALmazing - 6/21/2013, 3:37 PM
@beto, I am not denying that MoS had some deep moments, but your argument comes from someone who is obviously bias, if MoS were so great why is everyone so divided about it? I love Marvel and DC, it may surprice you that I have more DC comics than I do Marvel, but the Superman of MoS is not the Superman I grew loving, there are many things wrong that I could ignore and make excuses for, but I can't make excuses for Superman disregarding the safety of people and killing Zod. Yes superman has killed in past, but not like this, this wasn't a " I had no other choice scenario." Superman is better than that, thats why he is the hero heroes look up to, because killing for him would always be the easier choice. Tell me you didn't see this and you thought it was out of character.
