In most images from the Man of Steel set Michael Shannon is seen wearing a Mo-Cap suit. I have spoken with a very reliable source who is very close to Shannon. They have spoken to Shannon himself and learned why he is wearing a mo-cap suit. Shannon said that there was a suit of battle armor that Zod wears in the film. They tried to use a practical version of the armor but Shannon found it too cumbersome and was unable to move. So they are going to add it back in during post. I speculate that this is during a climatic part of the film, possibly before and during a big showdown?

@ superotherside I got a good feeling on this one. The got an actor who doesn't even have to try to be scary, he's got that menacing stare down anyway. And a pretty good cast, still not sure about Amy Adams tho. The suit has a more alien look to it which is pretty cool. I think this maybe the "Batman Begins" for superman. I just hope they don't make a big deal about planning a sequel already cuz that tends to piss people off, ALA Green Lantern (even tho i loved green lantern). I got a feeling a lot of this one is on green screen tho. Bearded Superman FTW!!!!
