Superman: Requiem Teaser

Check out the first official teaser trailer of the Superhero Fan Film Superman:Requiem.

By JULEZ13 - 5/27/2011
Superman:Requiem is a fan film written, directed, and produced by Gene Fallaize and is starring Martin Richardson as Clark Kent/Superman, Julian McDowell as Perry White, Audrey Kaipio as Cat Grant, Robert Hartley Wainwright as the film's villain, Alex Luthor the estranged son of Lex Luthor and Stacy Sobieski as Ali Noels - who is this film's version of Lois Lane. Why they are changing Lois - I have no clue and do not agree with it.

This film is about Superman losing his powers and has to somehow find a way to get them back to save the world from an evil villain whilst learning many things about himself throughout his journey.

The film takes place during the "Donner-verse." The story loosely follows the events after the first two Reeve's films and is set exactly three years after Superman Returns. (So does this mean we will also have the Super-kid??!?)

As a Superman fan I will watch this just for fun. I don't agree with some of the decisions made for this film along with the casting decision of Richardson as Superman, but this is a fan film and with WB's big screen adaption of Superman heading for theaters in 2012 this film isn't going any further. Therefore, it is really just for fun. This film should be out by winter of 2011.

THABATMAN - 5/27/2011, 7:20 PM
Leee that teaser didn't do THAT much lol
ComicbookmovieF4Lfe - 5/27/2011, 7:20 PM

LP4 - 5/27/2011, 7:23 PM
@GDSuperguy- I made an article stating how long it's been since we've had any updates and weren't YOU the one saying I needed to chill about it?

Yeah...looks like my worry was correct. Heck people on IMDB seem to SHARE my worrisome opinion, check it out-

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0770828/

Click on all the topics, there are TWO posts where people said they didn't think the film would was gonna happen due to lack of updates.
LP4 - 5/27/2011, 7:25 PM
And yeah, I don't think 'Man of Steel' will really even happen anymore. I think it's been canceled. And yeah, I don't think 'Man of Steel' will really even happen anymore. I think it's been canceled. Not a single [frick]ing announcement all month long. People on here said i was being "paranoid" [frick] that.
JULEZ13 - 5/27/2011, 7:26 PM
Hope you guys enjoyed my first article. I was surprised that no one had posted this video up yet. I tried to put up pics but for some reason it isn't allowing me to.

@LP4 & TheGODDAMNSUPERGUY: I think we'll still have The Man of Steel film, we're just going through a dry period. There's no way it'll get cancelled, DC/WB just can't afford that right now or they may never be able to make money off a Superman movie ever again. That is too great of a loss for them to bare.
blueorangeny - 5/27/2011, 7:30 PM
Jesus, just because there's no updates doesn't mean anytime...You guys are looking into it too much. It means shit.

Anyway Leee not really they just showed a boot and a s curl lol
blueorangeny - 5/27/2011, 7:31 PM
Exactly....Julez is right.

Its happening, I'll be more worried that the world will end in Dec 2012 than MOS not happening lol
LP4 - 5/27/2011, 7:31 PM
@JULEZ- Nice find btw! Yeah...the comments section has been all fu*ked up today. NICE first article!

Yep, this and Superman Returns were the last films for Superman we'll ever see and this isn't even a real film, it's a fan-film. And it sounds f'n boring, NO fighting as usual.

whoa123 - 5/27/2011, 7:33 PM
Nice looks good, hey check out my Blade 4 spoof poster just Click Here thanks!
LP4 - 5/27/2011, 7:34 PM
@JULEZ- I hope you're right. We haven't had a single update or word for a month. Plus we all know WB doesn't give a rat's f'n ass about Superman. He's their red-headed step-child they just keep [frick]ing up on the guy.

I rather Disney get Superman. They seem to know how to make quality CBMs. WB...made Stalkerman Returns and Snoreville...for live-action 'Supermen'

-_-

blueorangeny - 5/27/2011, 7:35 PM
Listen LP4 since you predicting the future why not give me the lotto numbers better.

LP4 you not even making any f'ing sense dude

What I can say, I don't like Amy Adams as Lois
LP4 - 5/27/2011, 7:36 PM
People on imdb are even starting to theorize it's been canceled.

LP4 - 5/27/2011, 7:38 PM
@blueorangeny- Not predicting the damn future dude, just stating facts- there has yet to be any word on the film and if it's even still being made.
LP4 - 5/27/2011, 7:40 PM
Best we'll get as Superman-fans is this f'n fan film piece of garbage where...as usual Superman refuses to fight.

He won't throw a FU*KING PUNCH, he won't be a real Superman. SIck of this fu*king bullshit people. Welling, Routh...give me a goddamn break here.

Fu*k this shit! I'm sick of this guy never getting a good f'n movie. GREEN LANTERN? SERIOUS???? WTF is this world even coming to??? BULLSHIT!
JULEZ13 - 5/27/2011, 7:40 PM
lol @LP4. Thanks, I got it on Superman Homepage. I check it everyday for Superman updates. It sounds like there may not be any fighting in Requiem. I'm sure they're on a tight budget, hence Supes losing his powers.

But there are a lot of popular movies that get made in which we don't hear any news about for a month or more. We didn't get any Batman 3 news for a while after the title was announced, just a bunch of rumors. I think we should all be a little patient.

Your talking blasphemy! Having Disney own Superman would ruin his legacy. New villains and allies. He just doesn't fit in that universe. I think MOS film will be good, we just have to give it a shot.
blueorangeny - 5/27/2011, 7:41 PM
Ohhh shit people stop the press

imjustkidding86 over at IMDB has posted the following "This movie will not happen" Jesus

LP4 so don't tell me you also believe the world was ending on May 21.

Who the hell is Imjustkidding86 lmao I give 2 shits what he thinks, until we hear it from the horses mouth the movie is still on. And again your comment about Disney making the movie, you make no sense.
blueorangeny - 5/27/2011, 7:42 PM
What facts homeboy, this any facts to base on. Just because no word has come from that camp doesn't mean shit and isn't consider facts. Again you make no sense.

If you say facts, then continue what facts are you basing your claim on?
LP4 - 5/27/2011, 7:44 PM
@blueorangeny- Disney owns Marvel, so they make Marvel films. If the Superman copyright goes on sale, I say Disney should get it. FU*K warner bros. They suck. They are the same [frick]ers who made Stalkerman Returns.

They didn't even [frick]ing test-screen it before releasing that turd.

They don't DESERVE Superman.
blueorangeny - 5/27/2011, 7:44 PM
Julez13 - He has no clue what he's talking about.
JorEl77 - 5/27/2011, 7:44 PM
Pretty cool find JULEZ.Hope to see more articles from you!!!
JULEZ13 - 5/27/2011, 7:44 PM
@blueorangey: Finally! Someone who also doesn't like Amy Adams as Lois!! I loathe her as Lois!! ~>O How do people not see her wrinkles?!?

@LP4: I understand your pain. We have been waiting a long a$$ time for a good Superman film, but this will be happening. We will be getting MOS in 2012 and Henry Cavill will own as Superman. The guy is still working out for the part. I'm sure when he's the size they want him to be the news will start flocking in. We still have over a year until MOS is released so there's a lot of time to kill.

@JorEl77: Thanks! {D
LP4 - 5/27/2011, 7:48 PM
@blueorangeny- What the FU*K is your problem with me? I can't state my f'n opinion on here without you badgering me?

Look I'm sick of waiting for WB to take their fingers out their asses and giving Big Blue the film he deserves.

Sick of it. I've lived on this earth for 24 years...still waiting for a real Superman. Haven't seen on yet.
blueorangeny - 5/27/2011, 7:48 PM
Once you not making any sense, you're talking to me like if I don't know who Disney is or what they own. In fact I give to flying shits. I'm asking you for your facts, what facts do you claim that show MOS not being made. Drop the whole, Disney taking over. WB has too much money and their suits realize if push comes to shove that if they need to pay at the end they will. Losing Superman is like Marvel losing Spiderman, each are their own "franchise player". In the long run they'll come out winning so there is no way he's going to Marvel. But enough about something that will never happen, I'm still waiting on your so called facts here.
LP4 - 5/27/2011, 7:49 PM
If WB doesn't know how to make a Superman movie, they should just give the rights over to Disney. I'll f'n celebrate. I USED to be on WB's side, i hated the siegel heirs. But [frick]...WB sucks. I'm sick of them, they ruined their chance in 2006 with Supes. They should just hand it over to Disney.
blueorangeny - 5/27/2011, 7:51 PM
I see it now, you're just pist. Someone pist in your oatmeal. I'm not badgering. You come on here, pist at the world that you've been waiting for 24 years for the Big Blue. You log on some site, you see some scrub list his opinion about how it's not going to made, you come here to claim the same fame and add that you have facts. So I'm asking what are the facts that show the film isn't being made. That's not badgering.
LP4 - 5/27/2011, 7:51 PM
@blueorangeny- Fine, no facts. Just went off of imdb.

@JULEZ- I hope you're right. I still say WB doesn't give nor know two-shits about Superman.
blueorangeny - 5/27/2011, 7:53 PM
Lmao, you just pist...I guess it's WB who pist in your oatmeal. That's not a problem, I feel you. SR was weak, now there's a new film soon to be around but don't come here claiming you have facts when in realty you don't have facts. The only thing you have is some scrub posting his rant on some site. lol
LP4 - 5/27/2011, 7:54 PM
@blueorangeny- WB pissed in my cereal, ok? lol

;D

Alright, sorry dude.
LP4 - 5/27/2011, 7:55 PM
Sorry for how emotional i get about Superman. I just hate the way WB treats him.
JULEZ13 - 5/27/2011, 7:56 PM
Well I'm glad you guys finally ended your dispute lol.

So I'm trying to put up pics and it's saying that they need to be a jpg, but they were. Has this happened to any of you and if it did do you know how to fix it?
blueorangeny - 5/27/2011, 7:56 PM
LP4 - with your comment to Julez...It doesn't mean they give 2 shits about Supes. They just made a wrong move, every one makes it. No big. If that's the case then, the same can be made for Marvel. They give 2 shits for their properties being raped over at Fox.
blueorangeny - 5/27/2011, 7:58 PM
nah never a dispute. I was just asking for the facts he claimed.

Regarding computer stuff, you are asking the wrong guy. I only know how to do the photobucket pictures if that's what you are referring too.
JorEl77 - 5/27/2011, 7:59 PM
@JULEZ. I didn't like the idea of Amy Adams as Lois as soon as I heard the casting news.I was hoping for someone else.
blueorangeny - 5/27/2011, 8:01 PM
well maybe I don't like the broad cause I see her in red hair. Until I see some brunette maybe we feel differently. But also I think after 10 years and seeing Erica as Lois for such a long time, I can't imagine another chick.
JULEZ13 - 5/27/2011, 8:07 PM
@JorEl77 & blueorangey: I hated her when I first heard of it and I still do now. I've seen pics of her with dark brown hair and she still doesn't look right as Lois. It is also so obvious that they had to photoshop her wrinkles away. She's gonna look ridiculous next to Henry! It's a damn shame. I am still hoping that they recast her before they start shooting.
LP4 - 5/27/2011, 8:38 PM
@blueorangeny- True but with a character as massive as Superman...it just seemed bad. Plus they seem to be doing so well with Batman and of course Green Lantern is looking epic. I just don't see why Batman and GL seem to get the good treatment yet Superman...eh...

-_-

Superman Returns raped Superman horribly...the Smallville finale...was also pretty bad. They are slowly killing the guy. I just want the new film to be good. If they can make a good Superman movie that will finally give the biggest middle-finger to Marvel. I'm just waiting on that to happen.

@JULEZ- Keep the news updates coming
JULEZ13 - 5/27/2011, 8:50 PM
Thanks @LP4. I'll do my best.
LP4 - 5/27/2011, 8:52 PM
@JULEZ- What i don't get about this damn fan-movie is...why base it on the Donner stuff?

I don't get why people keep retreading the Donner formula.

2006 proved the Donner formula just won't work anymore. I don't get these people...damn.

They keep poor o'l Supes bound and chained to the guy.
JULEZ13 - 5/27/2011, 9:12 PM
@LP4: I know what you mean. The first time I heard about this fan film and it being in the Donnerverse I was like, "Heh? Why?" I honestly have no answer for that. But atleast MOS is it's own continuity, same villain or not, it's still a new take.

What I really wanna know is YTF are they changing Lois's character. She's the most iconic female character in comics - probably the world, there's nothing wrong with her!

But then I think, ehh... It's just a fan film, nothing serious.

@MedioCore: I am also interested in seeing this film. I love to see people's take on Superman. I hope it's good, or at least entertaining.
Jer3miah - 5/28/2011, 1:58 AM
StrangerX - 5/28/2011, 6:45 AM
For a fan film this looks pretty decent. Nice find Julez
cosmicstranger - 5/28/2011, 10:23 AM
Hopefully, there will be no Super Kid. Furthermore, I am very tired of having Lex Luthor (or any of his family) in the movies. Superman has other significant enemies (Brainiac, Metallo, Parasite, etc).
Hawksblueyes - 5/28/2011, 10:53 AM
Good stuff JULEZ13.
Pygmalion - 5/28/2011, 12:18 PM
Thought the trailer was great. Great first article Julez - thank you - can't wait for the next trailer. Also looking forward to more info on MOS. I've always been a Bats guy, but I'm very excited to see MOS. I so desperately want to believe in Supes again. I miss the good old Reeves films (first 2). Hope Snyder can pull it off.
Pygmalion - 5/28/2011, 12:21 PM
Cap Prog, I love the Donner era Supes - he was totally the Superman for that time and a long time after. Yeah, we need a new Supes but I've never seen another costume that I liked at all. I didn't even like SR 'dark' outfit because it totally doesn't fit the character of Superman. And I agree - New Theme! The old one is a classic for sure but wouldn't fit a new film.
TheSoulEater - 5/28/2011, 12:39 PM
@Griff
Ranger14 - 5/28/2011, 1:02 PM
Hmm...can't find out much about Richardson. Only head shots and no full body shots. Same size or perhaps a tad taller than Cavill, so not the stature of Superman I would like to see. Don't care how much Cavill works out, he still won't have the imposing stature because he doesn't have the length. I definitely don't like the casting of Amy Adams. Stacy Sobieski has a great look for the role in this fan film, though I don't know anything of her acting skills.

Lee@ Give it a rest on Smallville. Smallville was never ever about Superman. It was a show about Clark Kent becoming Superman. He did so at the end as it was intended.
Maia87 - 5/28/2011, 3:27 PM
It will be much BETTER than Smallcrap.
ShadowlordSavage - 5/28/2011, 11:21 PM
@LP4, it's not solely WB who's at fault for Superman, they just fork over the money, hire the filmmakers, distribute and market the film. However, I think most if not all of the blame goes to the filmmakers they've hired. It was Singer and the writers who were responsible for Superman Returns. Singer who convince them not to screen test it.

It was the producers Peterson and Kelly and writers who were responsible for Smallville's disappointments.

The point is that you're giving WB all this blame when mostly their only true fault was hiring these people and and giving them so much creative freedom.

Think about it this way it's Nolan, his brother and arguably Goyer who successfully rebooted Batman not WB.

It's the filmmaker's who's been hurting Superman, the directors, writers and producers that WB put in charge. With Singer, they realized their mistake, we'll have to wait and see if they've learned with Man Of Steel. Right now it's too soon to tell.
