Man of Steel is an upcoming American superhero film under the development of Zack Snyder, Christopher Nolan, and David S. Goyer. Based on the DC Comics character Superman, the film will be a reboot of the Superman film series. Using Chicago and Vancouver as a backdrop, with production to be based in west suburban Plano, Illinois, the film entered principal photography in August 2011, for a planned theatrical release on June 14, 2013 by Warner Bros., which also includes IMAX venues.

Clark Kent is a journalist in his twenties who was adopted as a child by Martha and Jonathan Kent after he was transported to Earth from the dying planet Krypton. Raised with the values of his adoptive parents, he feels alienated because of his unique super abilities and struggles to find his place in life. When the world is attacked, he becomes the hero Superman to protect its people.

Love the Faora suit, and I'm fine with the changes to the Superman suit but I wish it didn't have the bumpy texture on the S shield though.

I thought Watchmen and 300 were great. His only real bad project was Sucker Punch which he wrote.

So bottom line is, he's not writing it, it should be good.

What? They never have stated that they'll use Crystal technology. And Crystals were only introduced in Donner's Superman, before then it hadn't been used at all. And in the comics it's only been used on and off since then.

The [frick]ing textures on those suits look really sick. They definitely have that Kryptonian/outer space look to it. Especially Supes' suit. You can tell that they tried to stay close to the source material and yet they gave it that real Kryptonian look. I likey. :)

Some of those remind me of the Bat suit in Nolan's films with all the armor.

@Intruder, I meant design wise. That has nothing to do with the costumes cleanliness. Also Odin was a king in a time of peace, his armor was more ceremonial and never actually worn into battle.

Since I am a new director, and this is 2012, let me also add some stuff to the suit—just to be different. Cuz, being DIFFERENT is where it's all at. It makes it seem like there was a reason to do a new one, even if the story doesn't hold up. It opens the door to merchandising. Everything has to be re-packaged.

Can everyone stop thinking that Donner's Superman IS Superman? They were decent movies for their time but that time has passed. As far as the Superman character goes, Donner's movies hardly did him justice, in fact they have done more to hurt him in the long run. Superman is so much more and I hope this movie shows that.
