We have already seen the version featuring Kevin Costner's voice over, now we have a second trailer - though using the same footage - which gives us Russell Crowe as Jor-El on narration duties..

I think this version is much more effective, how about you?



Superman takes to the skies once more as acclaimed actor Henry Cavill (The Tudors, Immortals) dons the suit, cape and S-shield of the MAN OF STEEL. Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel hits theaters June 14th, 2013.

I prefer the Costner version. Superman is the ultimate American immigration story. Focusing the dialog on Jonathon Kent brings it down to earth and makes it relevant.

Not diggin' the use of LOTR music is this though. This should be a very different film than that.

Yeah I prefer this one because of the actual dialog, but both are great.

@PacifiOrca - I don't Superman should be labeled American. He's a world hero, which confuses me the most.

Weird, if it's the International trailer, then how come I got Kevin Costner's voice over in the trailer? Though great dialogue, can't wait!!

much more effective than the first one... crowe's voice is much deeper and the dialogue is incredible. seems to me like they havent reneged on their promise to instill new life into the character instead of treading familiar territory

Very subtle and very well done.

Again, I have to emphasize how similar the tone of this trailer resembles what Terrance Malik did with Tree of Life.

This is super awesome. Maybe a person that typically NEVER looks forward to anything Superman related shouldn't be the one to judge... but from the perspective of a person that has never really gotten Superman... I finally do just from this trailer, and I'm VERY excited for it.

Looks kind of depressing. Its dark cast and gloomy. Looks Titanic with Superman thrown in at the end.

Preferred Kevin Costner's voice-over. The line of what character you choose to become: good or evil ... you will change the world ... was incredibly emotional and dramatic.

i love the parallels between what jor el says and what clark is experiencing, like the humans that will stumble and fall, so must he too stumble and fall. i dont want a goodie two shoes superman. i want a superman who does make mistakes here and there and who still has to find his way in the world, even after becoming superman. i want a tdk trilogy-esque character study, without sacrificing story and action. that is what the father of all superheroes deserves. yes superman should stand for truth and justice and all of that, but he cant immediately get on that throne. he has to climb the steps first.

Kinda wish Supes had that red/blue/yellow streak when he flies like in the late 90's/early 2000's, but hey, this is still better than Returns!!!

Jor-el is telling him what he will do and Pa Kent is telling him what he could be. At the end of the day, both don't tell him how to do it.

Wow...... I'm sorry but nothing gets me more excited than anything on bats and supes, they are my guys, I just love them, this looked like it has something special to tell, for a start the glossy warm yellow filter wasn't present in any of the shots and it looks like earth, rather than superman returns chicago-dusk-40s-shite look. I was releaved after watching this, thats all I could of hoped for before. ROLL ON THE NEXT TRAILER

I saw the Comic-Con Footage, so I know the movie has some kick too it, but the teaser makes the movie look boring as hell. The music they chose certainly doesn't help its case, either...

Who cares if Tree of Life was good or not?

The point is that the trailer is definitely trying to establish the same tone as Malick did.

And I think that's a brilliant way to understand the Superman saga. Trying to chart Superman's life within that cosmic frame of reference is perfect way to make his story epic.

But besides. Look at the past reincarnations of Supes..
We should be grateful we are actually getting an action packed.. "real story" of Supes.. more down to Earth..
I say down to the Earth because like Zack said..
It was Chris Nolan who gave him the pitch for MOS.. So I'm pretty sure Chris knows that Supes is opposite of Batman.. A whole 'nother realm and he felt Zack can pull it off
This is not a bad teaser.. Some people who don't have a clue about Supes didn't even know it was a Superman movie until he was flyng..
So it is a very subtle trailer thanks to Chris Nolan's input.
Remember when the only official thing we had was just this..

In time we'll have a action packed trailer..

the full on trailer will be attached to the hobbit in december, this is just to let the world know man of steel is coming cos l think no one who is not a cbm fan knew about this movie, now they will.

Massive CBM fan but for some reason this trailer isn't inspiring me with a lot of confidence. Although I could still be jaded from superman returns is that still possible???

Love this version more..the Costner one just reeked of Costner suckiness....he's the only thing im not excited to see with this movie

I already know the direction ,tone and talent that Costner will bring to Jonathan

The same he brings to every damn role...he's as versatile as my ball sack on a cold day :P
