Has TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES' Release Date Been Pushed Back Yet Again?

It has according to Geeks Of Doom at any rate. They report that the Michael Bay produced TMNT reboot, which was set to open in August, will now be released around November/December to facilitate extensive reshoots. Read on for more.

According Geeksofdoom.com's source, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot is being pushed back in order to complete necessary reshoots -- reshoots that will make up roughly one third of the film. Apparently producer Michael Bay is personally overseeing this, but no word on whether the movie's director Jonathan Liebsman will return. TMNT was originally expected in August, but if this is on the level we may well be looking at a holiday release around November/December instead. The first trailer for this didn't go down very well with the hardcore fans, with the new origin story involving Shredder and April O'Neil's father coming in for the most backlash. Could these reshoots have something to do with altering the story? Or is this just the usual padding out of the special effects/action scenes? Keep in mind that this isn't official..until it is.

How about starting from scratch with the current cartoon on nickelodeon being a reference for what this should be!

that show is its on thing with great respect for the turtles history...and also the character designs are great.
Niklander - 3/31/2014, 11:27 AM

Not a good sign for a Nov/Dec release date heck if it gets released in Dec the Hobbit is going to own that month.
MrReese - 3/31/2014, 11:31 AM
BAWAHAHAHAHHAA I love the turtles but I just can't get behind anything Boom Boom Bay does.

Thanks Michael Bay

Isn't it f-up that the originals looked better.

Didn't G.I. Joe Retaliation do similar re-shoots?
FirstAvenger - 3/31/2014, 11:44 AM
Good, make it the best they can.
rockerdude22 - 3/31/2014, 11:44 AM
If this is true, then it won't be the first time a movie has moved from around this release spot. Fifty Shades of Grey to be exact
JoeMomma29 - 3/31/2014, 11:45 AM
Every movie goes through reshoots, I am curious though if this is true or not.
MrReese - 3/31/2014, 11:45 AM
Exactly if their afraid of a talking Racoon when these dumb fvcks got giant turles that is hilarious!! @ McNyagano
Blanka1212 - 3/31/2014, 11:45 AM
Jesus H. Christ. We can't even wait for April 1st before we start busting this horseshit out?

If you fall for this, you're an idiot.
ATrueHero1987 - 3/31/2014, 11:46 AM

DukeAcureds - 3/31/2014, 11:50 AM
Just gie us this fvcking thing or at least tell us what it's all about!!!
For fvck's sake, I can stand it no longer, this gorram movie was originally pushed back to 2012 in light of the 2009 viacom sale!!!!
Give us this fvcking movie, I don't care how bad it is!!! Just give with the gorram thang!!!
BaneSmash - 3/31/2014, 11:50 AM
Marvel really hopes it move release date! GOTG has no shot of taking the number 1 spot away from this shitty movie. It's the nostalgia people will flock to this this movie.
sKeemAn - 3/31/2014, 11:51 AM
This is the gift that keeps on giving.

I'm really trying to like this but it keeps stepping on my toes.
fanDomX - 3/31/2014, 11:51 AM
yep re-shoot the whole movie. the trailer and the response to it was the reason for the push back.
rockerdude22 - 3/31/2014, 11:51 AM
If this is true, I really don't think GOTG is the reason for the delay. Still, this'll give GOTG a chance for better box-office results! If it's true, that is.
soforizo - 3/31/2014, 11:52 AM
GOTG is breathing a sigh of relief.
Bloodraven - 3/31/2014, 11:52 AM
You couldn't pay me to watch this film.
MrReese - 3/31/2014, 11:52 AM
No I seriously think it will be shit.If I'm wrong I'd gladly say this film delivered.I don't give 2 shits bout being wrong.
Blanka1212 - 3/31/2014, 11:53 AM

It's a lame attempt at an April Fools joke. DO you numbnuts honestly think that some no name website would be the first to report it while other, more reputable sites have nothing about this? Use your brains.
RorMachine - 3/31/2014, 11:54 AM
If memory serves, Geeks Of Doom were the first to report the first time this movie was pushed back and that turned out to be legit, so yes I'd say they're worth paying attention to.

No, this isn't an April Fools article!
TheFox - 3/31/2014, 11:54 AM
Yeah, sure.

This reminds me a LOT of rumor that Fox was dumping the director and cast of the Fantastic Four reboot six months before shooting. I don't think it's credible-- I think it's a website looking for hits and playing upon people's initial negative perceptions of a movie. It's a cheap ploy for Internet traffic.

"Oh, so they didn't like the trailer, huh? If we say it's pushed back a few months, fans will flip their sh*t and see it as a sure sign of how screwed up the movie is... People hate Michael Bay's guts, right? Let's say he's overseeing reshoots of a third of the movie! That'll get us hits..."

I give it a week until it's debunked.

ALmazing - 3/31/2014, 11:54 AM
Great, GOTG should move up by week and have a good 2 week start.
rockerdude22 - 3/31/2014, 11:54 AM
I mean, TMNT is a much more recognizable brand, so I wouldn't say it moved because GOTG. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to GOTG a lot more than TMNT (GOTG is actually my most anticipated movie this year!), but I'm just being realistic here.
BlackIceJoe - 3/31/2014, 11:54 AM
I could see it doing better in November. This way it doesn't have to compete against other better summer films.
