TMNT Toys Give Us Our First Good Look At New 'Splinter' Design

We've seen the Turtles themselves before, but these new images of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toyline also provide an idea of what we can expect from their rodent sensei, Splinter. There's snaps of the April, Shredder and Foot Clan action figures too.

"The city needs heroes... Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan."

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is directed by Jonathan Liebesman. It stars Megan Fox, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Alan Ritchson, Danny Woodburn, William Fichtner, Will Arnett, Whoopi Goldberg and opens August 8.

The toy versions of the turtles looks better than the film versions.
LewisD - 5/5/2014, 6:44 PM
@Comedian03: I'll take the real Megan Fox over the toy version any day.
batmanvsuperman - 5/5/2014, 6:46 PM

Splinter is the real Mandarin!

campblood - 5/5/2014, 7:02 PM
and why do all the turtles have something covering the groin area.

it's not like they have bits to cover up
SuperCat - 5/5/2014, 7:07 PM
Splinter looks like an armadillo.

ThrotTheUnclean - 5/5/2014, 7:07 PM
Well, at least Splinter is a rat. I really can't make out much more except they decided to give him a wizard's robe.

And is that dude with the clear mask supposed to be Casey Jones or a Foot Soldier?
KnobGoblin - 5/5/2014, 7:09 PM
I just, I can't even with this movie. That Shredder is beyond ridiculous.
GiantNerd - 5/5/2014, 7:09 PM
The foot soldier design is extremely disappointing.
Namor - 5/5/2014, 7:11 PM
I love Mickeys sneaks. The toes being cut out of the front of em is so
GiantNerd - 5/5/2014, 7:11 PM

Agreed about Shredder. Why the [frick] does he need his cape to have blades on it? So freaking dumb.
GoldSlayer1 - 5/5/2014, 7:12 PM
Wow toys are made sh****er than before.
not complaining specifically about TMNT, but wtf is it with these action figures with no joints for arm/leg movement?
ThePowerCosmic - 5/5/2014, 7:14 PM

I thought that could be a redesigned Casey jones too. Most likely foot soldier. I heard Casey wasn't in this one.

Sorry, but I hate the Turtles look. They are so over complicated with to much crap all over them. A simple look would have been better. Less is more Holywood!
ThrotTheUnclean - 5/5/2014, 7:19 PM
Looks like April could fit a turtle between her legs. I am going to assume that she is scaled proportionately to the rest of the toys.

@Batfleck Wow, that is disappointing.
technodrome518 - 5/5/2014, 7:19 PM
Meh...Don't think I'll be picking these up. Never remember April with a camera, but you gotta change with the times I guess.
McGee - 5/5/2014, 7:23 PM
Well if we're posting pics of animals....

polarkyle - 5/5/2014, 7:33 PM
Wonder if their going with splinter being the pet of hamato Yoshi or hamato turning into splinter
DoubleDion - 5/5/2014, 7:40 PM
This movie feels like a turd in process... Teenage Mutant Ninja Turd-les more like it
Highflyer - 5/5/2014, 7:40 PM

Enphlieuwince - 5/5/2014, 7:44 PM
Donatello looks bulimic compared to the other turtles.
Hellboy6666 - 5/5/2014, 7:51 PM
Love the turtles but this is just....I don't know. Not impressed
Pox - 5/5/2014, 7:52 PM
@ Godslayer1

Can't say anything about the ankles but look closer. The elbows and knees both have at least a hinge pivot and I might be seeing a crease for a swivel on the arms (Raph especially).

Mikey's left wrist might have a hinge too but I can't tell for sure.

It's not Macfarlane level articulation but there is something.

Doesn't matter anyways since this is all drin to begin with.
Enphlieuwince - 5/5/2014, 7:53 PM
It seems DoubleDion has offended someone in the TMN Enturtourage...

SKetCH - 5/5/2014, 7:56 PM

Where did you find that?! I'm still so pissed off that the scene was replaced with an XM:DOF clip...

I'm DYIN' to see this scene!!
TheGreenBastard - 5/5/2014, 7:59 PM
OpticBlastwins gets it!!!!
Highflyer - 5/5/2014, 8:03 PM
@SKetCH, found it on moviepilot
rabid - 5/5/2014, 8:09 PM
See? There's a place in this world for racist caricatures.
Someone should mail that figure to Shane Black c/o Marvel.
JoJo1982 - 5/5/2014, 8:13 PM
Smh at those pics

I'll just stick with collecting my Marvel Legends
PsyGuy - 5/5/2014, 8:16 PM

I guess they are equally plastic filled
ibravosp5 - 5/5/2014, 8:20 PM
These are terrible! Ugh, I'll still watch the movie I guess
ScionStorm - 5/5/2014, 8:26 PM
Kill it with FIRE! >:P
MightyZeus - 5/5/2014, 9:01 PM
I had no idea Splinter was even in this.

I mean the trailers just seemed to focus on April and everything else did not matter.
micvalpro - 5/5/2014, 9:11 PM
Damn even Aprils toy has a camel toe
