More Concept Art From Cancelled FLASH Video Game

Come check out even more concept art from Bottlerocket and Brash Entertainment's The Flash video game, created by conceptual illustrator Roger Robinson. Come see character designs for Captain Cold, Mirror Master, Weather Wizard, The Trickster and many more.

At the beginning of 2008, Brash Entertainment, who owned the license to DC Comics games, hired Bottlerocket Entertainment to create a video game adaption of the DC Comics character, The Flash. Sadly, Brash Entertainment would go out of business in November of 2008, and the game was cancelled. By that time, Bottlerocket Entertainment had already already put in 10 months of work, 3 to 4 months of pre-production and 6 months of actual production. Still another year's worth of work was needed to get it ready for store shelves.

The basics were planned to go something like this: the game was broken down into chapters with each chapter culminating in a boss fight against one of the Rogues Gallery. During the chapter the player would have been going on missions that he received either by intercepting police broadcasts or accepting them from various NPCs around the two cities (the player was confined to Central and Keystone cities; no world exploration allowed for the first game). At the time we had three core principles for the missions: racing (going from one point to another as quickly as possible), moving combat (fighting against other speedsters or moving vehicles ALA Road Rash), and arena combat (fighting against criminals at a location). All the missions in the game would stem from these principles, mixed and matched as needed. We had enough scenarios planned out that no two missions would ever had the same story wrapper. Oh yeah and it is important to note that we were working with famed DC writer Marv Wolfman. He was writing the overall storyline, the mission flavor, and the dialog. - anonymous source told

We miss you Levi! The Terrible trio of Intruder,SageMode & TheRealRemyLeBeau might have taken you away from us, but we remember you, and carry on your flame.

That last guy looks like a Hydra agent. I wonder which design came first.
Alphadog - 12/10/2013, 11:33 PM
I wish they've finish game but it still seems a bit primitive. The city doesn't look that fun to explore. If someone ever does another game like this for the flash i hope they design the city for you to race there. Make blocks at uneven levers with ramps that allow you to go to the top of buildings and design it for you to be able to run from one building to the other. Infamous was going to come out next year so I'm guessing that they would change things at that point anyway. Also, you will be missed Levi.

A flash villain is "abracadabra"?

manofmidgard - 12/10/2013, 11:36 PM
i love the flash as a hero, but he really does have some corny villains. almost as bad as spiderman and batman's. who I also like. maybe that says something about me. dammit. =P
rabid - 12/10/2013, 11:39 PM
needs more hardcore parkour
KingEmperor - 12/10/2013, 11:40 PM
Never really got into Flash comics, but he's got a strange set of rogues gallery...
OnePunchBaldy - 12/11/2013, 12:02 AM
Flash's rogue gallery is pretty… uhhhm. yeah.
BlackIceJoe - 12/11/2013, 12:19 AM
It's a shame this game never came out. I would have liked to have seen what it could have been like. It probably would have not been that great. But it still would have been nice to play it and get to see many of Flash's villains and him. It even had Shade in the game. The one villain that really want to see in the movie version. Plus Jesse Chambers in the game that is crazy.

That being said even though Levi is not around anymore he is still around. ComicBookMovie is a whole different place without him.

Flash game on ps4 would be cool

The footage reminds me of a really rough Spierman game one of the ones where you had all of New York to explore. They could have done the same kind of thing here with Central City dealing with all his Rogue's and their thugs and minions.
FlamingSkullComics - 12/11/2013, 1:57 AM
Murmur and Grodd look pretty cool. Otherwise; Meh.
MightyZeus - 12/11/2013, 2:06 AM
It looks awesome. I would have definitely played this game.
jimoakley666 - 12/11/2013, 2:21 AM
I hate it when people draw The Flash as a large, stocky mass of muscles. He should look like an Olympic sprinter, thin, muscular, long limbs and very lithe, like a panther.
Tempo - 12/11/2013, 3:32 AM
Captain Boomerang XD! Flash have the most ridiculous villains of the history.
sameoldthing - 12/11/2013, 3:35 AM
Dig the concept art.
I kinda think Flash should have a helmet type mask.
Moving as fast as he does he needs to protect that skull of his.

I think a female Flash should run around naked..right? Right.

SunfireUrA55 - 12/11/2013, 4:57 AM
Yes, those are some stupid villains that Flash has. They may as well have a baby called "Diaper" to be his villain too.
DAGuess - 12/11/2013, 5:08 AM
I've noticed Levi's absence. What happened?
dckizzle - 12/11/2013, 5:23 AM
Dam sell it so it can be finished I want it
Dedpool - 12/11/2013, 5:44 AM
this would've been cool. Bring some parkour and more wall running into it and polish the combat and I would've played it.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 12/11/2013, 6:02 AM
Running around the city would be awesome
Havensent - 12/11/2013, 6:21 AM
I like Flash, but man does his rogues look tacky as hell.
Dmon - 12/11/2013, 6:41 AM
I prefer the New 52 look for the Rogues. And Captain Cold is an awesome character if you don't know that then you have never picked up a Flash comic.

ALmazing - 12/11/2013, 7:30 AM
I'd buy that for a dollar!
theredhood6 - 12/11/2013, 8:51 AM
That Pied Piper art looks pretty slick.
Omegacron - 12/11/2013, 9:04 AM
Nice - I really like the designs for Flash and Zoom here.
Ramiel - 12/11/2013, 9:13 AM
Flash sure does have the weirdest gallery of villains.
DAGuess - 12/11/2013, 9:17 AM
@Arrowhead, wow. I've seen a lot of disrespect, inappropriateness, and bigotry on this site. Levi wasn't that bad any means. That's a real shame.
fadersdream - 12/11/2013, 10:55 AM
You either love his rogues for being ultra weird, or you hate his rogues for being ultra weird.

I hate them.
BatmanFTW - 12/11/2013, 11:05 AM
I love Flash's rogues, they're one of my favorites. They're colorfulness is what makes them unique, how could you forget a guy like captain boomerang or a giant talking gorilla?
SnapperCarr - 12/11/2013, 11:41 AM
The Flash's rogues are a little weird, but it's the sheer diversity in terms of power and personality that puts his Rogues gallery up there with Batman's and Spiderman's.
SnapperCarr - 12/11/2013, 11:43 AM
And while there might not be a thematic difference between both Flash and his Rogues, I think it's pretty nice how most of these guys are average joes with access to greater powers (like the Flash).
SnapperCarr - 12/11/2013, 11:44 AM
But looking at these designs, all I can say is wow. This looks really good. If they ever make a Flash animated series, I hope they use some of these designs.
SnapperCarr - 12/11/2013, 11:52 AM
I also really liked how they went and picked up Rogues from all of the various Flashes. I would've liked to see designs for Thinker, Girder, Colonel Computron, Golden Glider, Magneta, Double Down and Doctor Alchemy in this style.
AnthonyLantern - 12/11/2013, 12:39 PM
Why was this cancelled? I'm not even a Flash fan but I think this looks awesome
CBFan - 12/11/2013, 1:22 PM
Wow, I see a LOT of potential in this game!! I hope WB Games Montreal picks this up!! Just imagine--updated graphics, tight game play, a varied assortment of villains, which obviously, The Flash has, and a killer story and I think this can be a hit!! Not all WB/DC games has to be Arkahm!! We need good Superman, Flash, Green Lantern, and Justice League games!! Make this happen WB/DC!!
JacksonVegaIII - 12/14/2013, 9:54 AM
