PRISON BREAK's Wentworth Miller Joining THE FLASH As 'Leonard Snart'/'Captain Cold'

PRISON BREAK's Wentworth Miller Joining THE FLASH As 'Leonard Snart'/'Captain Cold'

It was revealed at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills today that Prison Break star Wentworth Miller is set to join the cast of The Flash as the leader of The Rogues (and recent Justice League member), Captain Cold. Check it out!

This is an impressive bit of casting, and something of a surprise as Wentworth Miller appeared to be moving away from acting after his script for Stoker was met with a great deal of praise. Regardless, he seems like a perfect fit for Captain Cold (especially as the character has been portrayed as a little younger since his debut in "The New 52"), and it should be very interesting to see how The Flash goes about introducing the villain and what his long-term role in the series will be. It was also revealed during the panel that they fought hard to include a Gorilla Grodd Easter egg in the pilot and that they do hope to one day be able to bring the villain into the series, despite not having a budget anywhere near something like Dawn of the Planet of the Apes! How do you guys feel about this news? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Decent casting. AOS and flash are going to make Tuesday nights so awesome!
BlackIceJoe - 7/18/2014, 11:06 AM
That is cool. I hope it will be the look of the old Captain Cold and not the New 52 one. Because if it's the old way Heat Wave will be too.
SonOfOdor - 7/18/2014, 11:07 AM

Reasonnnn - 7/18/2014, 11:18 AM
Prison Break sucked.
Ramiel - 7/18/2014, 11:21 AM
I liked him in Prison Break. He was alright in Resident Evil.
ThemightyDucks - 7/18/2014, 11:21 AM
Great casting choice! I wonder how long it will take to do a 'Rogues' story Arc. Captain Cold, Weather Wizard, and Mirror Master working against Wally would be a great thing to see (if a bit expensive to produce).
ComicsBornAndBred - 7/18/2014, 11:22 AM
Impressive casting coming from Arrow and Flash. AOS where you at??? Lol
StrangerX - 7/18/2014, 11:22 AM
That's awesome!!
CaptShipwreck - 7/18/2014, 11:23 AM
Mans gotta eat......
Probably a fruit salad of somekind
KurtWagner1225 - 7/18/2014, 11:24 AM
this will most likely be new 52 Captain Cold who has ice powers instead of the ice gun
Nomis1800 - 7/18/2014, 11:26 AM
He's hot lol
soforizo - 7/18/2014, 11:28 AM

They better use him right!
Tainted87 - 7/18/2014, 11:29 AM
Grodd doesn't need mo-cap, especially for a tv show. He doesn't need to actually speak, they just need either a good animatronic or maybe an actual gorilla. Sometimes he needs his helmet for telepathy, sometimes he has it without the helmet.

Imagine if all of these string of murders are being committed, hostile takeovers, blackmail, etc... and Grodd is just doing it all from wherever he's hiding. He has a puppet human act as the figurehead for him, a caged animal. We get a few red herrings making us think its so-and-so, but then Grodd steps out of the shadows.
GizmoEl - 7/18/2014, 11:29 AM
Awesome casting. As for Grodd, maybe they can just keep him in the shadows or really dark
EhMaybeSays - 7/18/2014, 11:30 AM
Better be the more badass New 52 version.
sinthegreat - 7/18/2014, 11:31 AM
Hell yes. This is a great choice. Don't screw this up cw!
Desrow - 7/18/2014, 11:31 AM
CombatWombat - 7/18/2014, 11:32 AM
different kind of choice, but I like it
CombatWombat - 7/18/2014, 11:34 AM
hopefully he'll be more faithful to the comic character than he was in that god-awful Flash movie script … written by Berlanti and Guggenheim
soforizo - 7/18/2014, 11:34 AM
BatManiac - 7/18/2014, 11:31 AM

Thanks for casting this tool as one of my favourite villains CW! Thanks a [frick]ing bunch!

What dafuq is wrong with you son? Forgot to take your Paxil this morning?
Haff - 7/18/2014, 11:34 AM
Oh I like that. Captain Cold's been great in the New 52.
DCGuy - 7/18/2014, 11:35 AM
I like it, young Capt Cold, Miller can really get across as a methodical genius. as seen on prison break, I am Glad Flash will kicks AOS ass on tuesday (not ratings wise but Quality wise)
KurtWagner1225 - 7/18/2014, 11:35 AM
Batmaniac-may i ask why u dont like it?
Alphadog - 7/18/2014, 11:35 AM
@BatManiac What do you have against him?
KurtWagner1225 - 7/18/2014, 11:37 AM
i hope the VFX for the show can remain at a consistently good quality..there were some dodgy parts of the cg in the pilot but for alot of it.i was quite good but they put ALOT of money into the pilots for show..lets hope it can still be good
Emanus - 7/18/2014, 11:38 AM
Glad to see miller back doing something. Prison Break was great until the third season, but that was all writing issues. He was wasted in Resident Evil. This show is catching my attention.
CommanderShepard - 7/18/2014, 11:38 AM
Excellent casting!! Cant wait to see the episode!
Darktower - 7/18/2014, 11:40 AM
we are getting Captain cold??!! sweet!
My tuesdays r gonna awesome nw!!
McGee - 7/18/2014, 11:40 AM
*hugs BatManiac from behind and kisses his shoulder*'s okay...they'll recast him soon...after we break into his house and look up kiddie porn on his computer...
soforizo - 7/18/2014, 11:46 AM

There's dodgy parts in GOTG's cgi and it's a multimillion dollar production. I've never heard you once complain about that one. Really, if you nitpicked Marvel projects as much as you do everything else, I would find them more insightful.
whittaflash - 7/18/2014, 11:49 AM
As for speculation over whether characters like the Green Arrow and The Flash will transition to the big screen, Johns tried to put that to rest, saying that the film and television universes for DC Comics "are separate worlds."

All the idiots can shut up now?
KurtWagner1225 - 7/18/2014, 11:52 AM
Soforizo-plus i havent nitpicked anything else,i am really looking forward to Flash and Constantine, sure i am not that hyped for Gotham but it could be good... Batman V Superman i am on the fence about..for Fox,i have never been a Big FF fan so i am indifferent towards it but again, could be good..Ant Man i am cautiously optimistic towards..sorry if i am just saying my honest opinions
KurtWagner1225 - 7/18/2014, 11:55 AM
soforizo-woah,ok,sorry,i havent noticed any dodgy cg work in Guardians..i did say i loved the flash pilot..they were some dodgy bits sorry to say
