Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), has released a new visual effects breakdown video for Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer's The Lone Ranger. The Disney film was a disaster at the box office and hopes to recoup some of its production costs with DVD sales. We shall see.

"Industrial Light & Magic Visual Effects Supervisor Tim Alexander and Digital Environments Supervisor Dan Wheaton discuss the effects challenges presented on Gore Verbinski's 'The Lone Ranger.' The film's primary visual effects challenges involved the creation of the hundreds of photorealistic CG environments seen throughout the film's dramatic action sequences." - ILMVisualFX

From producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski, the team behind the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, comes Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ “The Lone Ranger,” a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.

The Lone Ranger is directed by Gore Verbinski, from a screenplay written by Ted Elliott, Terry Rossio, Eric Aronson and Justin Haythe. The film stars: Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter. Now available on Blu-ray and DVD.

sorry, johnny. were you supposed to be doing right by native americans or further poking at them by hollywood?

if johnny depp comes out at some point and says it was disney's fault, that would make total sense

@nail - oh, no. i was kinda disappointed, but i enjoyed most of the movie. i was talking about it being disney's fault for the crappy portrayal of native americans for the most part. disney is racist or something, as far as legends say?

europeans killed, raped, and pretty much genocided an entire peoples, and we reap the gluttonous benefits. well, the elites do. YAY?

You should right an article on why you feel the way you do towards these movies. I've never seen you give valid reasons without purposely trolling.

@MrCBM56 - yeah, me write an article so kids can take a shit. that sounds like fun. i have explained many thoughts and the way i feel. actually, over the years, i've noticed that a lot of what i say becomes infectious (re: swagger-jacking). that's okay though. i consider it a compliment

This movie wasn't as bad as iI thought i was going to be... but I went it with really LOW expectations after reading all the critics and some of you guys reviews.

But it in general it was not a good movie.

How did this films budget get so out of control? Was there any reason given, as I find it hard to believe that a western can cost around $250 million.
