Larry Gilliard Jr.'s Real Role In Season Four Of THE WALKING DEAD Revealed

It was recently rumoured that The Wire's Larry Gilliard Jr. had signed up to play 'Roy Stark' in the upcoming fourth season of The Walking Dead. Well, his role in the AMC series has now been confirmed as has the character from the comics he will actually be playing...

As we previously speculated, 'Roy Stark' is indeed 'Bob Stookey'; the alcoholic former army medic who saves the life of the Governor after a brutal attack from a revenge driven Michonne. The AMC series has so far taken a huge departure from the comic books when it comes to how they handled the town of Woodbury, so it seems likely that the character will have a slightly different role on the show. Regardless, he's still described as being, "deeply haunted by his past" and "a loner" who "maintains a charming yet self-deprecating and confident façade". It has also been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter that The Wire's Larry Gilliard Jr. has been cast in the role.

Cool. I'm interested to see where they take this character since obviously the show has gone a whole different direction.

While I'm here can I request that Tyrese doesn't say the phrase "We're just looking to contribute" ever again on this show? Ever?

I knew the prison story would be at least two seasons due to the expense of building the prison sets.

I just wanna know who the fu*k is gonna join up with the guvnah now??? Is he just gonna creep outside the prison??? Lol

indigobolt956 - Carl is slightly like his comic counterpart. In the show, he's an asshole, in the comic, he's a kid who makes kid mistakes.

@thewonderer agree... i thought it would be the "blackwater" of twd... if the showrunner did this then good riddance... again
i really hope they arent [frick]ing us again with the "very different" season 4
TheIconicMan - 4/26/2013, 4:31 PM
I'm worried about the Governor. Well, after that stupid season finale I don't know what they're gonna do with the guy.. I mean.. WHERE IS HE?
Ocelot - 4/26/2013, 6:54 PM
@TheIconicMan he's returning for season 4, which means he'll engage Ricks's group in some capacity or form. It will be a question of how many people he takes down with him, as I cant see him surviving the wholse season of season 4, I think he'll be killed off around the mid-season finale

@AlbertPooholes Tyreese isn't going anywhere, he'll be the first to break the trend
IronLantern79 - 4/26/2013, 7:56 PM
I still love this show AND the books.
