First Look At THOR: THE DARK WORLD Villain ‘Malekith’ & Army of Dark Elves Via Set Photos

The latest batch of photos from Marvel's Thor: The Dark World has revealed the first look at actor Christopher Eccleston as Malekith the Accursed and his pack of villainous Dark Elves! Check them out!

Brand new photos have surfaced from the set of Marvel's Thor: The Dark World via MTV Splash Page and Splash News Online. Revealing the first look at actor Christopher Eccleston as the film's main baddie, Malekith the Accursed, along with his ancient army of Dark Elves, the photos also feature Chris Hemsworth suited up once again, now bruised and battered. Check them out below!

The last two photos pictured above were taken last month when filming for Thor: The Dark World was taking place at Bourne Wood, Surrey. The creatures masked on the stuntmen were believed to be the Dark Elves. However, given that we now have photos of how the elves actually look, it seems the Alan Taylor-directed sequel will in fact feature multiple alien races, and their realms.

Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins as Odin, “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne (credit not final) and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (credit not final) and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962. “Thor: The Dark World” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

In addition to “Thor: The Dark World”, Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on more iconic Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” on April 4, 2014; “Marvel's The Avengers” sequel (title TBA) on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!

NewSuperAvengerCBM - 11/14/2012, 8:41 AM
Just regenerate, Doctor!!!
RorMachine - 11/14/2012, 8:45 AM
Ok, so I get that they didn't want the colorful look..but now he just looks like Scorpius from Farscape.
cashsteele - 11/14/2012, 8:46 AM

I need more to judge, but I think he looks pretty good. Loving the armor. Maybe a full close-up shot at the face, sans the helmet..
TheEnd - 11/14/2012, 8:51 AM
CGI will for sure be used to enhance the looks of these creatures :D just look at those spots on the faces. those cgi stuffs...

Not sure how I feel about the design :/
JDUKE25 - 11/14/2012, 8:57 AM
Looks nice. This just shows that having the Green Goblin look like how he's supposed to look can be pulled off.
hayyam - 11/14/2012, 8:57 AM
Doctor Who and Cybermen. I thought this is a Thor movie.
BIGBMH - 11/14/2012, 8:59 AM
Looks decent enough. I think they should start releasing concept art before set pictures leak so our first impression is closer to what they're trying to achieve.
wolverinesfury - 11/14/2012, 9:01 AM
GTA V trailer #2 and photos of the 9th Doctor as a evil elf in one day.

AlexDeLarge87 - 11/14/2012, 9:01 AM
That pretty radical.

But i dont necessarily hate that look. I give it time to grow.

He seems to have the white hair. Its just braided i think.
GUNSMITH - 11/14/2012, 9:02 AM

thalidomide - 11/14/2012, 9:02 AM
Too bad we won't be getting a trailer until next year.
HULK2099 - 11/14/2012, 9:03 AM
That classic split face mmmmmmmm
AlexDeLarge87 - 11/14/2012, 9:05 AM
The look fits for the dark world name.

And soldiers looks like somekind of Ninjas which is pretty cool too.
thatdylhooper - 11/14/2012, 9:08 AM
Those are motion capture dots, they'll prolly add to his face
Fogs - 11/14/2012, 9:09 AM
@OdinsBeard - Very well observed, sir. Those are really motion capture points. They're white in the left to contrast with his black face area.

We'll see some serious shit on his face.

I like what I see so far. They're elves with pointy ears and long hair but also strange and alien.

Good, very good.

And Thor has his face [frick]ed up, he's gonna take some serious beating this time. One that leaves marks, I mean.
7166charlie - 11/14/2012, 9:09 AM
Looks like mo cap dots on his face
Ranger14 - 11/14/2012, 9:10 AM
I would prefer seeing the red, black and yellow costume, but otherwise I like the look. Perhaps he will have a change of costume somewhere along the way.
CharlesLord - 11/14/2012, 9:13 AM
cool they added more pics. looks good
DaenerysTargaryen - 11/14/2012, 9:18 AM
Oh god Dr.Who what have they done to you!?! O.o
sexfoodcomics - 11/14/2012, 9:21 AM
Looks awesome. Malekith looks like he has tracking markers on his face for cg enhancement I guess.
blvdnoise - 11/14/2012, 9:22 AM
I like it.. Can't wait to see how this translates!
