New THOR: THE DARK WORLD Concept Teaser Poster!

New THOR: THE DARK WORLD Concept Teaser Poster!

In anticipation of Comic-Con, Entertainment Weekly has debuted a concept art teaser poster for Thor: The Dark World featuring many of the sequel's main characters, with a first look at Algrim the Strong!

Raising hype for Marvel Studios' panel at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige briefly discussed Thor: The Dark World with Entertainment Weekly, and also shared an awesome conceptual teaser image. “We wanted to see more of Asgard than last time,” says the Marvel president. “We see the street-level view, the nooks and crannies of house people actually live there―real people and not just golden superbeings.” In addition to promotional art wall posters via Trends International, check out concept art, which offers a look at the film's many main characters!

Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins as Odin, “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962. “Thor: The Dark World” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios.

mdwilliamson24 - 7/11/2013, 7:23 PM
Would be awesome if that image of Thor flying is taken from a scene in the movie. It probably isn't, poster art rarely ever is, but wouldn't that be EPIC!
MexicanSexyman - 7/11/2013, 7:28 PM
Thor the dark world will be the best phase 2 movie. Frick why can't it come out sooner.
mdwilliamson24 - 7/11/2013, 7:31 PM
BTW- any one else notice the wings on Thor on the bottom silhouette artwork? The rest of everyone is accurate- I can pick out Heimdall, Fandral, Hogun, Volstagg, Sif and 4 or 5 Asgardian troops...
Maybe the helmet will have another cameo....
Maybe not.

Awesome poster!
Ramiel - 7/11/2013, 8:34 PM

Thor has magic, which is a Supes weakness. He can match Supes in strength, and outclass him in H2H combat since he has hundreds of years in experience. All Supes has on Thor is speed, but we both know Supes isn't going to defeat Thor using his speed or a speed-blitz attack.
HULK2099 - 7/11/2013, 8:35 PM
Ramiel - 7/11/2013, 8:35 PM

That was based on votes. And besides, Thor was crushing Supes in this fight.
TheWolverine08 - 7/11/2013, 8:36 PM
@Maestro Thor: The Dark World shall be awesome!
TheManFromMars - 7/11/2013, 8:38 PM
Oh, [frick]!

Not another stupid Thor Vs. Superman thread...

Damn you, nerds!

Damn you to hell!
Ramiel - 7/11/2013, 8:41 PM

It happened in the comics because MARVEL allowed it happen. The guys at Marvel have a HUGE crush on Superman, that's why they had Superman wield both Mjolnir and Cap's shield in that crossover.

And if you don't believe me that Marvel has a hard on for Supes, then just look at all the Supes-clones that they have created e.g. Sentry, Gladiator, Hyperion, Blue Marvel, etc. And guess what? Thor has defeated all these guys in the comics.
