Transformers director Michael Bay has stated on numerous occasions that Transformers 4 will be different than the other 3; promising a less goofy and more serious tone. But how serious will the film be exactly? Transformer co-star Titus Welliver recently sat down and spoke about the movie with the Nerdist. “I’ve now won the hard earned respect of my children because I’m in a Transformers film", he said, [and] I’ve always wanted to work with Michael Bay and certainly Mark Wahlberg and Kelsey Grammer.”. When asked what can we look forward to in the next installment, he responded, “It’s a bit more of a darker vision of the Transformers world…", he continued, "It’s not a kids movie, I’ll tell you that much.” What do you think?

Starring in "Transformers 4" is Jack Reynor in the starring role of a race car driver. The talented and beautiful Nicola Peltz has been cast in the female lead role of Reynor's girlfriend. Mark Wahlberg has signed on to play Nicola's father Flynn Vincent. Sophia Myles will play a major role as a scientist. Peter Cullen returns as the voice of Optimus Prime, and Glenn Morshower reprises his role as General Morshower. Kelsey Grammer was recently cast as the lead villain named "Harold Attinger". Directors Guild of America DGA Award winner Michael Bay will return to direct his fourth installment of the film series from a screenplay written by Ehren Kruger.

TRANSFORMERS 4 will be directed by Michael Bay, from a script written by Ehren Kruger. The cast includes: Mark Wahlberg, Kelsey Grammar, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci and Jack Reynor. Set for release on June 27th, 2014!

Isn`t that the exact same thing Michael Bay had said before "Dark of the Moon" was released?

Dark movies do not sell toys, which is what the Transformers franchise is mainly about

None of them were "kids" movies.... Have the stuff out there for kids, from back in the day til now, aren't really for kids.
Pasto - 2/19/2014, 11:56 AM
No kidding. Every film is filled with sex jokes, foul language, and robot testicles.

I don't think Michael Bay knows these movies are supposed to be for kids.

Unless he is dumb enough to believe kids want to see Jon Turturro's ass.

Well this movie would still sell toys if it was a child friendly film or not. If they aim this movie at a more 16+ audience it'll sell toys to younger kids.

Besides this is a billion dollar franchise on ticket sales alone, so as much as you sales are a added bonus, it is doing just fine without them.

@Omega Spot on! I fail to see how racist robots, di*k jokes, and close to naked women are for kids
PredatorRIsing - 2/19/2014, 1:39 PM
It better NOT be rated R
Amputech - 2/19/2014, 11:38 PM
Yeah the real kid's movie this year is GOTG. Dur Hur

I try not to be too negative but with this franchise it's almost impossible.
