With the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" imminent, The CW's all-star lineup of DC heroes will need all the help they can get, and it sounds like they've just boosted their ranks with the return of two fan-favorite heroes.

TV Insider has confirmed that John Wesley Shipp (The Flash) will reprise his role as Earth-90 Flash, while Entertainment Weekly has separately learned that Johnathon Schaech (Legends of Tomorrow) will also return for the five-part Crisis as Jonah Hex. No further details are currently available.

The pair join a bevy of special guest stars, including LaMonica Garrett as The Monitor/Anti-Monitor, Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman, Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor, Cress Williams as Black Lightning, Kevin Conroy as future Bruce Wayne and Burt Ward in an undisclosed role.

More Black Lightning characters are also expected to appear, but it's not entirely clear which ones just yet.

Additionally, both Brandon Routh (Legends of Tomorrow) and Tom Cavanagh (The Flash) will be pulling double duty for their respective shows. Routh will suit up as both The Atom and Kingdom Come Superman, while Cavanagh is expected to play Pariah.

"Crisis on Infinite Earths" begins with Supergirl on December 8, followed by Batwoman on December 9, The Flash on December 10 and concludes with an Arrow/Legends of Tomorrow double header on January 14, 2020.

It´s gonna be an awesome crossover.
We are talking about TV series with several seasons and a huge audience.

CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS is the "DC´s Infinity Saga".

Earth-90 Flash and Jonah Hex are excellent adds.
Hope they feature TITANS and DOOM PATROL too.

Marc Guggenheim shared this on Twitter as well:

Six shows. Five scripts. One epic.

Character are cool...

That being said (and my main reason for my comment) it's lame that we get to see most of the crossover, but then we have to take a weeks break before finishing it =/

I might watch these shows up til the crossover, take my own break, and then binge the crossover next year when everything has aired >_>

Even though Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum aren't appearing, I hope Smallville gets some representation. So many heroes appeared on that show (including their own Green Arrow, Flash, Black Canary, Hawkman, Supergirl, and Deathstroke) that there's really no excuse not to include it.

Besides, The Flash's Season 6 costume is looking very familiar. That gives me some hope for Smallville crossing over.

@Darkknight2149 - Well last season we got a nod to Smallville with the Kent farm, the theme song and the dead body of a Green Arrow in the Smallville costume. I'm sure they know how important Smallville was.

If they cant get Welling or Rosenbaum, they could probably get Erica Durance and Laura Vandervoort easier since they've both been on Supergirl.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure Welling and Rosenbaum are gonna be in the crossover, they're just keeping it very hush hush. I mean, I hope they keep SOME guests as a surprise instead of announcing every damn one.

Maybe we should stop asking who is going to be in it and start asking who isn't going to be in it

@Darkknight2149 - don't count Welling and Rosenbaum out just yet. They are tight with Amell. The only reason they won't appear is due to a schedule conflict. Filming hasnt even begun yet on the crossover. Still plenty of time.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - agreed, was a little disappointed at how little he was utilized after being hyped leading into Elseworlds.

John Wesley Shipp, the only guy in Comic book adaptions to pull off the chinless mask

@HeavyMetal4Life - but he looked all sorts of weird in the suit. He is a jacked dude and that cowl along with the suit made him look tiny. Reminded me of the Avengers Captain America suit.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Elseworlds in general just felt like wasted potential tbh. I think they held back purposefully because they plan on going all out with COIE.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - you might be right. There were a lot of great moments in Elseworlds, but yeah it felt like a bit of a step down after Earth-X, and it seriously should have been 4 instead of 3 episodes.

God I hate this Jonah Hex. Terrible acting/writing.

This seemed like a no brainier to me. Mainly because that isn’t the original suit from the show. They had to pay for a recreation. If they didn’t have bigger plans for him in Crisis they’d probably just made him Jay Garrick again in Elseworlds.

I wish Elseworlds would have been a real Elseworlds, rather than a mini-prelude to Crisis on Infinite Earths. A true Elseworlds storyline would be more like Marvel's What If...? An alternate (non-canonical) timeline where no one in the story knows from start to finish that they are part of an alternate (non-canonical) timeline. In other words, Elseworlds is not about characters in an alternate timeline trying to fix the timeline.
