Michael Fassbender's ASSASSIN'S CREED Wraps Filming

The live-action Assassin's Creed film from 20th Century Fox, starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard wrapped filming on Friday. Will the video game adaptation break the video game movie curse first or will Duncan Jones' Warcraft beat them to it in June?

The Ubisoft Head of Content for Assassin's Creed revealed on Friday that the video game film has wrapped filming. Cameras began rolling last August and wrapped in January of this year, making this a typical 6-month shoot. Will the film be the first to break the video game curse? Will Duncan Jones' Warcraft beat them to the punch in June? There are lots of video game movies currently in development, perhaps they'll soon rival comic book movies?

Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day. Assassin's Creed stars Academy Award nominee Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Days of Future Past, 12 Years a Slave) and Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises, La Vie en Rose).

Assassin's Creed opens in theaters worldwide on December 21st, 2016.
