Sigourney Weaver & ALIEN Cast-Mates Return To Provide Voices For Video Game

Weaver will once again play Ellen Ripley (well, voice her anyway) in the upcoming video game, Alien: Isolation. Plus, her former Nostromo crew-mates Tom Skerritt, Yaphet Kotto, Harry Dean-Stanton and Veronica Cartwright will be joining her.

In Sega's upcoming Alien: Isolation video game, we will follow Ellen Ripley's daughter Amanda's search for her mother, fifteen years after the events of Ridley Scott's original Alien. Now it's been announced that Sigourney Weaver will return to provide the voice for Ripley in the pre-order DLC "Last Survivor", and she'll be joined by Harry Dean-Stanton (Brett)Tom Skerritt (Dallas), Yaphet Kotto (Parker), and Veronica Cartwright (Lambert). Although Ash will feature (as you can see by the above pic) Ian Holm unfortunately won't be returning. Here's the full press release and DLC trailer:

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — Sigourney Weaver and the cast of "Alien" are returning to the starship Nostromo. The actress who portrayed unflappable officer Ellen Ripley in the "Alien" film franchise is reprising her role in an upcoming video game set after the events of the original 1979 film. Weaver and several cast members from filmmaker Ridley Scott's sci-fi horror film recorded new dialogue and will have their likeness appear in bonus levels of "Alien: Isolation." Other cast members returning to their roles as Nostromo crew members include Tom Skerritt, Yaphet Kotto and Veronica Cartwright. The central story of "Isolation" centers on Ripley's daughter Amanda. She was briefly mentioned in a scene from the 1986 sequel "Aliens." The game marks the first time Weaver has reprised the role since the 1997 sequel "Alien Resurrection."

Alien: Isolation will be available from October 7th on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

I really hope this game delivers the goods as so many have promised in the past. Nice that the actors are coming back, must have cost a pretty penny
Comedian03 - 7/9/2014, 6:21 AM
Of course they are, cause really let's be honest, do any of these actors have a whole lot on their plates these days? lol

I was a lil skeptic of this game, after being burned with the FAIL of Aliens Colonial Marines. That, and also creating this "new story" which seemed meh but starting to get more hope in this and the fact that the original HBIC is back well I think I'm getting it now.

Question is PS4 or XBOX One lol

I still can't believe with today's technology and Halo's blueprint on how to do it right that Aliens Colonial Marines still managed to screw it up. They had the perfect subject matter to have a franchise game at the perfect time. Unbelievable.

What about john hurt?
CplHicks - 7/9/2014, 7:40 AM

Colonial Marines was such a let down. From what we've seen of this so far I think they've done much better. fingers crossed

Berserker187 - 7/9/2014, 8:46 AM

RajunRemyLebeau - 7/9/2014, 9:10 AM
That's awesome. Not bad for a human.
Dios - 7/9/2014, 9:40 AM
I still think Sigourney Weaver is hot...

@Dios Same here.

@EagleEye21 probably no John Hurt because at this point of the movie/DLC he was dead. They seem to be reenacting the moments of Parker's death and everything after. Although them not having Ian Holm's Ash do the voice is a bummer too.

@CplHicks Riiight?! We need Jones lol
AsianVersionOfET - 7/9/2014, 10:44 AM
Haaaaiill yeah

symbiotics - 7/9/2014, 1:34 PM
@Inhuman I believe it is, since the protagonist is Amanda Ripley and it is mention in the 2nd movie that Ellen had a daughter

Alien was released when I was 5 years old. That is so weird to me. Of course, I didn't see it until about five years later. And shortly after, John Carpenter's The Thing. I had quite an imagination, so I developed problems getting to sleep. It's cool that people are still seeing the value in these things so many years later.
mgeoff88 - 7/9/2014, 3:28 PM
Oh wow, that's really cool they're brining in the original cast.

I don't play many games but I think everyone heard how much of a [frick] up the last game was. This though? Looks like great damage control. I'm in.
