How could any Spider-Man fan not like this costume?
DoctorDoak - 2/27/2013, 11:43 AM
I didn't care for TASM, and I hated the suit they gave him. But this suit is flawless. It's all about those eyes!
cmax - 2/27/2013, 11:50 AM
The mask is awesome.
Thegoddamnbatman52 - 2/27/2013, 11:50 AM
Ahh grifs back! I haven't seen a "shit movie" comment in quite a few months
Thegoddamnbatman52 - 2/27/2013, 11:52 AM
I think that this suit is literally the perfect spidey movie suit, I liked the one from the first TASM but it was way too much of a departure and I never liked the raised silver webbing for. The raimi films so this one is actually perfect. And those eyes! This is how you do a cbm suit!
Tymminator - 2/27/2013, 11:59 AM
I'm looking forward to this movie, but hell, it's good to see Grif make a classic "Grif comment".
lightningfilms - 2/27/2013, 12:10 PM
how can ANYONE say "its to much like Sam Raimis"???

His suit wasn't original. it was Based on the Comics!!! God Damn, sometimes i HATE fans, because they will find ANYTHING to complain about.

If it didn't look like the comics, Fans Complain, if it looks like the comics, "its to much like Sam Raimi's!"

If they didn't make a Spider-man movie they complain that there isn't a movie.

I love this Costume, and i liked the TMSM costume too. m a Huge Spider-man Fan, but i also understand the complications of taking a Comic book character and making it relevant in real life and obey our laws of physics and at the same time making it as good as it can be without it being Corny and also Making Fans Happy. But there will always be those Fans that are NEVER happy.

Wow, your kidding right?....
christianroch - 2/27/2013, 12:38 PM
Sam Raimi's costume version was the best.It is how I imagine Spider-Man.
Growler - 2/27/2013, 12:57 PM
I actually liked the costume from the last movie, primarily because it was such a marked change from the Raimi ostumes, so there was a recognisably different vibe going on but this is so close to the old suits it doesn't feel right.

The glued-on webbing has always appeared to be too fussy and was the one aspect of the earlier costumes that I disliked.

all in the eyes baby!!!!
LoneShadow99 - 2/27/2013, 1:16 PM
Best costume ever to go with the best superhero movie series ever. (Other than the Dark Knight Series and The Avengers)
McGribble - 2/27/2013, 1:22 PM
This suit seriously is the suit I have wanted to see. It is near flawless! The casting of Jamie Foxx (great actor, just not a fan of the man himself) put me off on this movie but this brings me back on board.
Hero020200 - 2/27/2013, 1:51 PM
Beautiful eyes
OtakuPapi - 2/27/2013, 1:59 PM
lmao at people saying it's too close to Raimi's suit.Idiot this is spider man there can on be varying differences anyway because it's based on the same character. Lovely suit, the eyes add to the flair!
Nomis1800 - 2/27/2013, 2:10 PM
It's perfect!
Geektality - 2/27/2013, 2:24 PM
except all the well-known aspects of the original suits that Raimi overlooked. That's like saying that the Batman Returns suit and the suit from Burton's original Batman are both similar in that they both look like the comics (which they don't).
Honestly, this new series doesn't change enough for me to look at it and go "Oh, it's clearly a new series". The new film had better spend its running time convincing me it was different. The first was clearly using a rewritten script for Spider-Man 4, unlike other CBM reboots like Batman, Hulk, and even Punisher. I might hate Spider-Man with fiery passion, but I still think he's a character who deserves a good movie, which he hasn't really gotten.
misner89 - 2/27/2013, 2:30 PM
I"m Loving the new Look Who cares Isn't this the suit you guys wanted like geezs
TheFascinatingMan - 2/27/2013, 2:56 PM
In all honesty, I liked the first one's eyes better
FriendlyNeighborhoodSpidey - 2/27/2013, 4:33 PM
How could anyone like the first suit more??? That thing sucked. This one is perfect and it's a direct translation from the comics. Does that mean they liked the Spidey suit from TASM better than the comic suit? I don't get that, especially if you're a Spidey fan. And to those who say it looks like the Raimi suit, what are you talking about? I mean, of course it's gonna look similar, but that's because the Raimi suit was already so close to the comics. And to those who hate it...are you even a Spidey fan?? Lol
Bark4Soul - 2/27/2013, 4:36 PM
Is this even a question? It's so comic accurate I love it. I got USED to the new one but not sure why anyone would mess with it, tweak it and make your own perhaps but the whole look felt very Mt-Dew/Power Ranger like Harry's GG in Spider-man 3, wtf?
thebearjew - 2/27/2013, 5:07 PM
i liked the first quite a bit but there were things i didnt like, like the asics strip running down the side of the legs and the red vertical design going down his torsoe went to far down and i miss the red stip going across the waist

thewolfx - 2/27/2013, 7:06 PM
Could be a shit movie but thats not a shit suit
TheOverlord - 2/27/2013, 7:18 PM
I clicked the first option, but honestly it all depends on whether or not it has a "belt." If there is a dark band that goes all the way 'round, it will be perfect. If not and we end up with another situation where the bands stop and end in a point that directs us at his junk like the last film, I will scream. Also, I could do with a better plot. Thanks.
iordanisp - 2/27/2013, 11:17 PM
Been there done that!...
ArgentSnith - 2/27/2013, 11:53 PM
I dunno...but the fact that the first movie's suit had a "home made" look to it kinda makes sense to me. The new suit is note perfect and gives us something to look forward to on screen while continuing the evolution of the character. If they had used the new suit from the get go, it would have been an opportunity lost. I'm digging it.
parkerray - 2/28/2013, 7:08 AM
something about those yellow eyes was just killer. damn.
parkerray - 2/28/2013, 7:09 AM
i don't understand it. usually i like things more traditional. but i frickin love that first suit.

hoping this one will look even better in the film, because i didn't expect to like the yellow either.
Webhead321 - 2/28/2013, 10:50 AM
Your blind if you can't see how similar this is to Raimi's suit. It's the same tone of color from Spiderman 1,the webbing is slightly lowered, and the front spder legs are ever so slightly tweaked. The eyes are a Spidey fan's dream, but other then that it's the same suit ! My guess is Spidey merch.didn't sell well, causing Sony to go through their files and give us a suit that fans and normal movie goers could identify with more. This just proves my thoughts that this reboot in general was a waste to begin with!
Lindsey35 - 2/28/2013, 11:47 AM
It is the best suit EVER brought to life, period.

People are such retards, by the way.

Let's break this down, shall we?

Raimi's suit was near perfect and looked a lot like from comics (the symbol, the way the suit flowed, the colors, EVERYTHING), even with the raised webbing - raised webbing IS needed, or else it'd look like a Halloween costume - so, does this mean there's going to be something to complain about EVERY time they come out with a suit that looks JUST LIKE the comics?

There is no argument here, and it's pointless when you put effort into doing so.

I personally don't think it looks exactly like Raimi's suit. The red seems to be different (darker, like the comics) and the pattern in the blue seems a little different too. And the eyes....THE EYES!

Also, how can it look like Raimi's suit when his didn't have freakin web-shooters?

Plus, the webbing is darker, like a charcoal color. ANNND, judging by the awesome set pics, the symbol looks a lot like the one in ASM.

So, there are differences, the only thing that makes ASM2 suit look like SM1's suit is really the raised webbing, but I personally think the raised webbing is needed - I actually love the raised webbing -

As the results show, it's not even close. The people have spoken. They prefer a costume be faithful to the original and the hollywood designers not be allowed to always put their big-azzed stamp on everything.

Now if they would just put Tobey Maguire in that suit and get Willam DeFoe to play a resurected Goblin, all would be right with the universe again.
saladin747 - 5/13/2013, 8:52 PM
Heres my take...
In my opinion Raimi/Tobey's spiderman suit was absolute perfection. Everything about it was sexy, faithful to the comics, and he looked like a real badass in it while still moving like an arachnid. The eyes and the red spider were my favorite parts and too the end of time I will always love it. The only thing that maybe went against it was the fact that it just wasn't realistic that a broke college do-gooder would wear such a nice suit but that was a non issue for me. Since when does that kind of realism matter when a character like Ironman can exist. Way back when I saw the TASM suit in the teaser poster I immediately disliked it. It was a complete departure from the comics and looked alien to me. Also didn't help that I thought Garfield looked pathetic. But then I watched the movie and something in my opinion of both the suit and Garfield changed. I liked his suit after seeing the movie because it looked sick in a more original way. It was feasible that a teen could make this suit and something about the smallish yellow eyes just looked right to me. Garfield did just as well playing petey as Tobey or maybe even better for some people. TASM 2 suit looks promising because it restores faith in the comics but still looks like a real world suit somebody could just make. Not completely in love with the biggish eyes but Ill get used to it

my ratings...

Raimi Version 10/10
Classic suit looking completely badass without ruining anything whatsoever

TASM Version 8/10
A more original design that promotes lithe movement. Not very faithful to the comics but unmistakably Spiderman

TASM2 Version 7.5/10
System restore to the classic look but a little bit more naive and "Playful". Very realistic. Hopefully he will look just a bit buffer in the movie then in the stills
