Description Of A Scene From X-MEN: DOFP With Mystique & Xavier

Here we have a pretty detailed description of a scene from Bryan Singer's next X-flick, focusing on the first meeting in many years between Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and her one time companion Charles Xavier (James McAvoy).

In the latest edition of Empire, the mag describes a scene from X-Men: Days Of Future Past which they witnessed being filmed while visiting the set. The scene features Jennifer Lawrence as Raven/Mystique making her way to the airport to complete a task set for her by Magneto (details of this can be found HERE). On the way her old friend Charles (James McAvoy) appears to try to dissuade her. Here are the highlights of Empire's report, which also contains some dialogue from the movie. There's nothing too major here, but if you don't want to know anything about any of the scenes that will be in the film, obviously there's a SPOILERS WARNING.

As extras with suitably big hair glide past, the camera tracks with Raven, on her way to catch a flight. Out of the blue passengers start talking to her, warning her, dissuading her from her intention. She ignores them, rounds a corner and standing in front of her is Charles Xavier...

..Ten years have elapsed since the events of the previous movie, a decade in which Charles has disbanded the X-Men and let his school for gifted youngsters go to seed...

..Charles -- or an astral projection of Charles , hence the absence of a wheelchair -- pleads with Raven not to leave him once more. At one point McAvoy throws in the line, "We have to show them we're not al like Erik." But Charles' remonstrations have no effect -- Raven will not be swayed. The scene ends with a distraught Xavier promising, "Wherever you go, whatever you do, I will find you, Raven. If I have to, I will stop you."

There's much more to their report, so be sure to pick up the latest issue of Empire which is in stores now.

Hehe. They said "out of the blue".
VISIONaryNPa - 11/1/2013, 11:35 AM
@Whylee hahahaha

scene seems weak as hell. no thanks.
faver - 11/1/2013, 11:40 AM
Sounds simple yet really interesting.
Good way to work around Charles' paralysis. I'm guessing McAvoy didn't want to spend all the film on a chair.
ForMeToPoopOn - 11/1/2013, 11:44 AM
I'd like to astral project into the blue.

RIGHT?!?!?! GET IT ?!?!?! AM I RIGHT, GUYS?!?!?!?!

That scene sounds awesome. Also If the cure wore off Magneto and Rouge shouldn't Mystique's powers revert back as well. Raven was such a big deal in First Class. She should be in the future too. It would be cool to see Patrick Stewart and Rebecca Romijn talking in the future. To really tie things together since they have little to no interaction in the first set of movies.

Lead me, teach me, be Patient with me, caress me, fondle me, kiss me, stroke me ....

@ Pasto - LOL!!!!!

Boy that could be taken many different ways. ;)
ForMeToPoopOn - 11/1/2013, 11:55 AM
You thought that was gel keeping his hair upright like that?
Nomis - 11/1/2013, 11:57 AM
@ Pasto - LOL!!!!

He must have a quick healing factor. ;)

This movie continues to sound brilliant. Can't wait to see more of the relationship/contrasting ideologies between Eric/Charles and more Havok. I'm hoping the second trailer gives us a little Alex Summers.
Nomis - 11/1/2013, 12:05 PM
@ Pasto - LOL!!! Too true!
DrDoom - 11/1/2013, 12:06 PM
Lawrence's Mystique looks like shit

THE comic book movie of 2014...
Tymminator - 11/1/2013, 12:10 PM
I'm hoping that they are keeping a huge secret and at the very end of the movie, we get to see a cameo of James Marsden as Cyclops. I'm giving Singer credit when he says he is using DoFP to fix and clean up a few things, but he HAS to know that Cyclops is the biggest thing that needs to be fixed.
Nomis - 11/1/2013, 12:10 PM
@ pasto - EVEN TRUER!
Tymminator - 11/1/2013, 12:12 PM
I know that it is said that Marsden has not filmed anything for this movie, BUT that does not mean he still can't. To film a quick cameo and attach it on can happen even after the film is considered done.
Luminus - 11/1/2013, 12:12 PM
Well that explains how young Charles meets old Charles. We'll finally get to see the Astral Plane.
Luminus - 11/1/2013, 12:14 PM
@Tymminator: We know there's an X-Force movie being made and we know Cable is in it. Therefore, Scot and Jean are alive due to Wolverine changing the past. This movie will lead to Apocalypse's rise to power, which will cause Cable to come back to the past and form X-Force. It's perfect!
Bark4Soul - 11/1/2013, 12:14 PM
Just to ask the obvious then, is this after First Class supposedly or after DoFP? Either way having Charles & Raven be bff's always drove me nuts and yet people still claim FC was awesome. Sorry they were never bro and sis, they also never talked in the original 3 movies so why now all of a sudden are they so close with no mentions before...
TheFox - 11/1/2013, 12:15 PM
Nice! It's not much, but I like the continuation of the Raven/Xavier relationship (even if it's just to show that it's completely deteriorating, so that it's not too surprising that they never even speak to each other by the first X-Men). And having the airport passengers talking to her as she makes her way through the crowd is an awesome touch!

Definitely looking forward to this movie!

New mystique looks faker than ever. Scene sounds dumb because they acted like they didn't know each other in the previous trilogy. Too much emphasis on old characters that we never got to know any new ones after 6 movies. Smh.

Dofp is D.O.A.
Azazel1 - 11/1/2013, 12:19 PM
Finally a movie studio which makes CBM's for adults and not comedies for kids!
Nomis - 11/1/2013, 12:19 PM
@ Pasto - LOL!!!! ;)
JatevinM - 11/1/2013, 12:21 PM
TheRealRemyLebeau@ dude can you seriously stop coming on every article just to talk shit.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 11/1/2013, 12:22 PM
@luminis you think X-Force will be made? I don't, not correctly at least. And do you think cable will be cyclops and jean's son??? Was juggernaut Xaviers step brother? Was nightcrawler and rogue mystiques children???? Answer these questions and you'll know what you said was dumb.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 11/1/2013, 12:24 PM
@jatevine or whatever your name is. I love xmen but I must speak out on this tragedy we are witnessing. And you know I speak the truth. ;)
Luminus - 11/1/2013, 12:27 PM
@Bark4Soul: You've never had a woman give you the silent treatment, have you?
TheRealRemyLebeau - 11/1/2013, 12:29 PM
@pasto I've been on a tourist van cruise with gusto and nomis. That was the wrong tourist van cruise. ;)
Luminus - 11/1/2013, 12:30 PM
@TheRealRemyLebeau: X-Force is in the same universe as X-Men. This was confirmed. How exactly are they going to show us that connection; cameos from the other X-Men? You figure it out.

And for all you know, Nightcrawler and Rogue ARE Mystique's children. She just doesn't know. She gave them up, when they were babies, remember?
fortycals - 11/1/2013, 12:31 PM
that one thing I never understood. For them to focus so much on genetics in these movies, they always leave the family relations out. I always thought they did it to keep it simple, but it would make more since if they tied some of these characters together. Especially juggs and Charles. If you changed juggs to a mutant why not make them brothers.
Luminus - 11/1/2013, 12:31 PM
Why do people keep complaining about Charles and Magneto being friends in that X3 flashback? You guys act like you've never had fights with your friends before and stopped talking to each other for a while, only to makeup later on. Geek rage, I swear.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 11/1/2013, 12:32 PM
@0mega there is no fixing what went wrong with fox men as much as singer thinks he can try something will be left out. It's like putting together two different jiggsaw puzzle pieces. It's just doesn't fit. Don't hurt your brain trying to make sense out of this tragedy. ;)
Azazel1 - 11/1/2013, 12:33 PM
Too bad that Singer has had to fis so much crap that Ratner screwed up in X-men 3...
Luminus - 11/1/2013, 12:34 PM
@TheRealRemyLebeau: Time travel makes fixing everything possible.
Nomis - 11/1/2013, 12:36 PM
@ Azazel1 - Too bad that Singer has had to fis so much crap that Ratner screwed up in X-men 3...

TheRealRemyLebeau - 11/1/2013, 12:38 PM
@fortycal that is a major issue with me. X-Men has always been big on FAMILY. Singer and fox don't give a fvck.
Azazel1 - 11/1/2013, 12:40 PM
People who keep shitting on Singer have no respect.

Singer jump started the modern CBM with X-Men 1

X-Men 2 is still one of the greatest CBM's of all time..
Luminus - 11/1/2013, 12:41 PM
@Azazel1: +1
TheRealRemyLebeau - 11/1/2013, 12:41 PM
Luminus said this: " And for all you know, Nightcrawler and Rogue ARE Mystique's children. She just doesn't know. She gave them up, when they were babies, remember?"

Lmao. I feel bad for you trying to love Shit like play doe.

How do you forget physically giving birth to nightcrawler and adopting a teenage rogue boggles my brain. Stop it.
