Amalgamated Dynamics Incorporated is giving us the first look at their latest video, which details the make-up design for The Blob (Kevin Durand) from 20th Century Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Marvel Comics' supervillain, The Blob (Frederick J. Dukes), was originally intended to be in Bryan Singer's first X-Men film, but the character's budgetary demands were too much to overcome. The character's name did make an appearance on a list of mutants in X2: X-Men United. But it would be Gavin Hood's X-Men Origins: Wolverine that would finally unveil the first live-action version of The Blob, played by Kevin Durand. The ninety-pound fat suit that the actor wore was sculpted by the team over at Amalgamated Dynamics Incorporated and you can view a video below showcasing the make-up design for it.

"The challenge of taking Blob off the comic page and putting him in front of the camera was developing a look that was massive, but powerful. The script required him to be huge from overeating so it couldn't all be muscle. And it had to work as a practical effect that actor Kevin Durand could bring to life." - StudioADI

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) - was directed by Gavin Hood, from a script written by David Benioff and Skip Woods. The film starred: Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston, Lynn Collins, Taylor Kitsch, Kevin Durand and Ryan Reynolds. The movie grossed over $370 million at the worldwide box office.

He got his look right, too bad that was just about it. Wolverine has no business beating the blob in a boxing match.

The Blob can take a punch from the hulk, I trained a doubt Logan could knock him out. Especially how in the first X-Men movie sabertooth knocks Logan out with a tree branch.

God that movie sucked. The Blob looked ridiculous.

Kevin Durand has been fan casted as many people.

Bane, Sabretooth, Kingpin (also with a body suit), Crossbones, Drax the Destroyer, etc etc. Size (6' 6") gives him some lead way plus he's a pretty good actor.

I actually thunk he was the best part of the movie (alongside Liev's Sabertooth)

Id like to see Durand as Eddie Brock in the Spiderman reboot
