First Look: Young JUGGERNAUT Costume Designs - X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Conceptual illustrator, Anthony Jones ("God of War: Ascension"), has updated his website with Juggernaut, Iceman and Trask soldiers costume designs that he created for Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past. Hit the jump to check them out!

I know, most of you are saying to yourselves, "There was no Juggernaut in X-Men: Days of Future Past." And yes, you're right, Juggernaut did not appear in the film, but he was a last minute scratch. In January, Empire Magazine conducted an interview with Bryan Singer and screenwriter Simon Kinberg that revealed that Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Xavier (James McAvoy) and Beast (Nicholas Hoult) were gonna seek out a young Juggernaut to help them break Magneto out of his Pentagon prison, but he was replaced by Quicksilver (Evan Peters). Which ended up being a grand idea as it produced the most memorable scene in the film.

Actor Josh Helman, who portrayed a young William Stryker in the film, was originally set to play the role of a young Juggernaut. In March, Helman explained what happened to IGN: “I originally got hired on a different role, which is no longer in the script -- it was going to be young Juggernaut, So I was like, ‘Oh, s#!t. I’ve got to put on like 30 pounds!’ So I was training for like four weeks," Helman then added "And then I got a phone call saying, ‘Good news and bad news. Bad news first: Juggernaut’s no longer in the script. Good news: They’re having trouble with another role and they want to see you for it."

Below, costume designs for a young Juggernaut, Iceman (Shawn Ashmore) and Trask soldiers.

Concept Art by Anthony Jones
The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past will be directed by Bryan Singer ("Usual Suspects"). The cast includes: Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Peter Dinklage, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Daniel Cudmore, Booboo Stewart, Omar Sy, Fan Bingbing, Evan Jonigkeit, Adan Canto and Josh Helman, X-Men: Days Of Future Past hits UK cinemas on May 22 and US cinemas the following day.

Looks like Bane fused with Mankind
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 6/16/2014, 5:31 PM
UGh would a helmet be that lame? Wouldn't look any more lame then a dude with a ski mask and a hood as depicted above.
AnthonyLantern - 6/16/2014, 5:31 PM
So happy we got QS instead of Juggernaut
Abary - 6/16/2014, 5:32 PM
By god is that bad. The idea is decent, but it is just so bad. Well, it's better than the Last Stand version though, so I can't really complain.
MisterHolmes - 6/16/2014, 5:33 PM
maybe see him in Apocalypse? id like it if they brought back characters (nightcrawler, juggernaut, Sabertooth,) rather than add new ones, maybe add 1 or 2 new ones, but bring back classics, show havok and cyclops together! a young storm! and why not Wolverine? we havent seen him in awhile.........oh wait, nevermind carry on!
TheFamousJMC - 6/16/2014, 5:33 PM
This is awesome, cos if I was making a helmet, i would design it based on an old hoodie I used to wear.
Abary - 6/16/2014, 5:33 PM
The last Iceman is amazing though
Areo - 6/16/2014, 5:34 PM
All of these stink.

Right on THEDARKKNIGHT1939. I couldn't agree more.
joppida - 6/16/2014, 5:34 PM
Looks like they still think he's a mutant. It's the ruby Cyttorrak man. Hate it so much.
KelvTwelve - 6/16/2014, 5:35 PM
Cool concept art but strangely I'm very happy that Quicksilver replaced Juggernaut - it made more sense in a way, and they connected it a bit more to the comics than they would've Juggernaut (Xavier's half-brother that Mystique never saw oh yea and also Xavier has another brother too that's braindead).

We all doubted it at first, but in the end he was done pretty well in the movie. I don't think Avengers will get that personality out, but I'm happy that X-Men did.
JackRyan9859 - 6/16/2014, 5:37 PM
I hated Juggernaut in The Last Stand. Juggernaut needs to be HUGE...
SonOfOdor - 6/16/2014, 5:38 PM
These actually look pretty cool...glad to see the subtle transition to Fox actually TRYING to give mutants actual costumes
JoeMomma29 - 6/16/2014, 5:38 PM
LOL! The first Juggernaut's helmet looks like a the head of a pecker!!!!!

RaleighAntrobus - 6/16/2014, 5:38 PM
God, I hate Fox.

And if you people knew how they planned on using him in DOFP before he was replaced than you'd hate them, too. The way he was implemented in the prison break scene was a complete joke.
SuperCat - 6/16/2014, 5:38 PM
Juggernaut doesn't look too bad.
Hutch113 - 6/16/2014, 5:40 PM
JuggerBane LMFAO!!!
Phronesis - 6/16/2014, 5:40 PM
Bad memories from The Last Stand...

You have Colossus and Juggernaut! I always wanted to see their iconic bar fight. Sadly, probably will never happen.
grif - 6/16/2014, 5:42 PM
at least in x3 it was dome like and not a [frick]ing hoodie. i hate singer soo much. eat shit singer
NovaCorpsFan - 6/16/2014, 5:44 PM

Was he just gonna run in and break everything?
ComicsBornAndBred - 6/16/2014, 5:44 PM
Iceman art is nice. Liking the juggernaut art too. Gives him a menacing covert look.
AlexanderLykins - 6/16/2014, 5:44 PM
No comment.
AlexanderLykins - 6/16/2014, 5:45 PM
Except for that.
AlexanderLykins - 6/16/2014, 5:45 PM
And that.
CF12793 - 6/16/2014, 5:53 PM
I'm actually glad they took him out of the movie lol his look reminds me way too much of TDKR Bane.
CaptShipwreck - 6/16/2014, 5:56 PM
Mortal Kombattttttttttt
Jhuntdaprodigy - 6/16/2014, 5:57 PM
I knew I wouldn't be the only one who thought he looked like Bane with a hood.
marvel72 - 6/16/2014, 5:57 PM
not bad as its for a young juggernaunt but why does iceman need so much warm clothing when he can turn into his ice form.
CinemaHero - 6/16/2014, 5:57 PM

RobtimusPrime - 6/16/2014, 5:59 PM
Ha! Ha!
Fox-Men strike again!! That, Juggernaut is f*cking horrible! I would expect no better from Singer's costume department. Some of the cosplay babes featured on this site, could do way better with a fraction of the money & time. ........still a better look than, Quicksilver tho'!!
marvel72 - 6/16/2014, 6:00 PM
the next time we see juggernaunt(adult) he needs to be cgi,you know motion capture suit.
mctrinket - 6/16/2014, 6:02 PM
Iceman doesn't need a costume: he's ICEman.
Abary - 6/16/2014, 6:03 PM

If I understand correctly, they were going to drop him from their jet and have him fall through the Pentagon into Magneto's prison. Quicksilver was better for that because it actually made a interesting prison break scene rather than a brief scene that felt forced just to get Magneto involved.
BANE5000 - 6/16/2014, 6:05 PM
they had their chance with juggernaut and blew it...i was hoping to see a Jugg vs Colossus fight in X-3, them just pounding away and maybe even using vehicles to smash on eachother...but nope :]
Mercwitham0uth - 6/16/2014, 6:18 PM
Lol at the failure of Fox-Men and pedo Singer.
RobtimusPrime - 6/16/2014, 6:24 PM
I could see Bryan Singer & Michael Bay having slap-fights over whose movies have pissed fanboys off more with, George Lucas being the referee.

That "Juggernaut" is the funniest thing I've seen today.
RexDartEskimoSpy - 6/16/2014, 6:27 PM
Why would Iceman need a coat?
