Hugh Jackman Confirms Earlier Reports Of Time Travel In X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Commenting briefly on his return as Wolverine in X-Men: Days of Future Past, Hugh Jackman has confirmed that we will indeed see time travel in the Bryan Singer helmed sequel and also promises that, "Every other actor who’s ever put on a superhero uniform will be in it."

The title and return of several actors from the previous trilogy of X-Men movies was more than enough for us to come to a pretty safe conclusion that time travel would factor into X-Men: Days of Future Past, but Hugh Jackman has now confirmed it! 20th Century Fox consultant Mark Millar did let it slip in an interview not too long ago, but that was very much just an off the cuff comment (although he did recently mention there being "one element of time jump" in the movie). After all, it was possible that director Bryan Singer would instead use flash-forward's to show us an alternate future (thereby keeping the slightly more grounded tone of the previous instalments in the franchise), but the Academy Award nominated actor very specifically mentioned time travel while talking to The Daily Mail recently. "There’s an element of time travel and, naturally, it will be action-packed," Jackman told the site before moving on to talk about which other superheroes we should expect to see appear in the movie. However, it seems like a safe bet that he's exaggerating somewhat! "You wouldn’t have enough room on the page after you’ve listed them all. Every other actor who’s ever put on a superhero uniform will be in it." Now all we need is for someone out there to hurry up and confirm the appearance of Sentinels...

Hasn't Mark Millar already confirmed this? Twice? There was the original statement where he compared it to Terminator and just 2 days ago he said there was one element of a time jump in the movie.

It's possible that Professor X just recieves images of a possible future and no one physically travels.

Soooooooooooooo does that mean all the X-Men or also The Avengers,Andrews Spiderman and the Fantastic four i know im being a wise ass but yea he needs to get his words straight before saying stuff

I'm completely with you. After X-Men Last Stand and that other movie staring Hugh Jackman, it's so bad that it deserves to never be named again, Fox better do it right this time. So, I will continue to remain skeptical of this flick regardless of how good it seems to be turning into. X-Men: First Class was a good flick. Here's hoping that this one will be, too.

Let us see this happen for reals this time, too!

I'd love to get glimpses of Cable, Bishop and Rachel Summers in the future as part of the resistance, and then have one of them be the one who makes the jump to the past.

Oh, and an old Forge too. He'd be the one who would make the time machine in the first place.
thewolfx - 1/18/2013, 3:20 PM
All i know is singer better use this time travel to fix all the continuity [frick]ups left by xmen last stand and xmen first class.

And give me my damn sentinels !
SpideyQuad - 1/18/2013, 3:26 PM
Hey red hood, that last one looks like a pile of CRanter
Tainted87 - 1/18/2013, 3:31 PM
I'm pretty sure the Sentinels won't be 60 feet tall - they'll likely look a LOT like the Hammer Drones from Iron Man 2, and they'll talk like Robocop.

And what's wrong with that?
mattattack - 1/18/2013, 3:32 PM
I have a massive erection after thinking of the potential this film has.
DioFoRio - 1/18/2013, 3:37 PM
awesome news ..but doesn't the title of the movie (without even knowing of the story it came from)already tell you some form of time travel will occur? LOL
FirstAvenger - 1/18/2013, 3:39 PM
Days of Future past DUH!
Funsize - 1/18/2013, 3:39 PM
You don't say lol
DukeAcureds - 1/18/2013, 3:40 PM
I'm hoping for Jennifer Garner to reprise her role as Elektra, possibly as Logan's lover (as she was in the comics, during the '90s) and some of the FF (maybe Chris Evans as Johnny Storm) with Franklin Richards. They could/ shouldgo further into the future and have Franklin Richards and Rachel Grey-Summers give birth to the most powerful mutant ever. Every member of the Summers/Grey family should bve in this, especially Cable. And, of course, if we don't get Scott and Jean joining the First Class team, people are gonna shit a brick and hurl it at Singer.
Inhuman - 1/18/2013, 3:42 PM
this whole time travel aspect could fix the continuity issues x-men suffers from. if they can somehow make the last stand, origins, and the wolverine take place in an alternate future, then they could make a sequel to x2 with all of the cast returning since nobody died at the end of x2 and singer could do a proper sequel with the fire phoenix which he intended it to be. logan from the last stand, origins, and the wolverine is the logan that time travels in days of future past which would solve all the issues because then it means that weve been watching an alternate future the whole time which explains xavier walking and friends with magneto while they were old and bald
Inhuman - 1/18/2013, 3:44 PM
alternate future continuity....

origins, x1, x2, the last stand, the wolverine

singer present (proper) continuity....

first class, days of future past, first class 3, x1, x2
BrownandYellowWolvie - 1/18/2013, 3:44 PM
Actually, the part in X3 with the Danger room and the Sentinel head was pretty awesome. If DOFP would look like that, i'd be pretty happy. Just throw some full size shots of Sentinels in there (Transformers style) and it'd be a great movie. Colossus serving a fastball special?! that's right out of the comics. The only part of that clip that bothers me is how Storm 'floats' instead of flies, but that can be corrected. This scene was just a tease--the rest of the movie was horrible.
BrownandYellowWolvie - 1/18/2013, 3:51 PM
The Wolverine will happen AFTER X3, confirmed right? At the end of The Wolverine, he should be visited by his future self or someone (kitty pryde or Cable) to tell him of the future that happens without a Professor X to keep the peace. Then it leads to DOFP where the future crew must go back to the past to save the Professor and stop this future from happening.

I'm so friggin excited for this it's unreal.

mattattack: "I have a massive erection after thinking of the potential this film has."

Singer has that effect on some men.

Inhuman - 1/18/2013, 4:00 PM
@wolvie, yes wolverine happens after the last stand. i think it would be better if at the end of the wolverine he time travels to days of future past movie which would signal that the last stand and wolverine are from a future that could happen which makes them non-canon which would solve the continuity issues
imnotwearinghockeypants - 1/18/2013, 4:27 PM
Time Travel. Kiss of Death.
CoolantTech - 1/18/2013, 4:30 PM
Yes.. hope its in the same vein as The Wolverine (Quality X-Men Films) this movie has potiental to be great or to be a total cluster [frick]...

We need this!

And This!

Not This!

StormLoganSummers - 1/18/2013, 4:31 PM
I love Wolverine, but I hope he is NOT the time traveler, though it seems Fox is going this route, so prepare for this movie to ne Wolverine and the Days of Future Past.
OriginalGuardiansPlease - 1/18/2013, 4:40 PM
i hope we see time travel in the guardians of the galaxy movie as it would likely mean the 31st century
INSTANTJUSTICE - 1/18/2013, 4:42 PM

imnotwearinghockeypants: "Time Travel. Kiss of Death."

Superman, Looper, 12 Monkeys...

shamo - 1/18/2013, 4:47 PM
X2 > XMFC > XMEN > X3
KozmikPariah - 1/18/2013, 4:53 PM
What continuity issues? I solved all those ages ago when XMFC first came out, with barely any threads hanging. I guess people aren't creative these days?
TheBeard - 1/18/2013, 4:57 PM
The sentinels have to be in this. Even if its only like ten minutes of some characters in the future fighting them, while someone else makes a time jump to the past. It should be longer but i could live with 10-15 minutes of mutant on sentinel mayhem. I don't think they will be the full on 60 foot titans like the comic verison though. More like the Destroyer from THOR would be my guess.Would love to see Cable but considering Brett Ratner went full on RETARD with X-3 and killed scott and jean, that could be tricky. It is a time travel movie though so who knows..... Oh and how about a REAL DEADPOOL sighting/cameo. Just to know he is out there.
xstryker - 1/18/2013, 4:58 PM
A lil off topic, but I want Wolverine 3 to feature Fantomex and Ultimaton.
Shadow137 - 1/18/2013, 5:03 PM

Perfect comment cause it's true. I wanna get beyond stoked for this movie but I keep remembering Fox is still behind the scenes and Singer is back. Please be good DOFP or at least get Matt back in the seat to reassure a hit.
BrotherStarkofMABMindz - 1/18/2013, 6:26 PM
Professor X x2
Magneto x2
Emma Frost x2?
Beast x2

Does he mean everybody because I could still go on!
MisterMagurlypse - 1/18/2013, 6:31 PM
Yeah, maybe the X-Men can jump to the future where leather is banned and everyone wears costumes!
gambgel - 1/18/2013, 6:44 PM
things have changed since X3 Gambit89.
FC was a great movie, appart from the characters choosen, but they were great, just a tease of what this movie could be.

To have Sentinels on the future, with a few actors from original trilogy doing some damage, and then to see again the cast of FC a bit older and more trained, with Charles with his wheelchair already and hopefully one new addition to the team.... lets be honest, this sequel has a huge potential and will deliver. At least with the action and tone. That alone will make a great movie.
xinstituto - 1/18/2013, 7:07 PM
I dont think too much mutants is good
but everyone could be:
Xavier (older)
Jean Grey (ressurected)
Wolverine (from present days)
Kitty Pride

And the whole First Class members
