@Elayem - I remember seeing a few previews for X-men when I was young too and I also thought it was a horror movie. Crazy. But mainly because I saw Mystique and remember hearing rogues scream in the previews.

@Forthas - It's not about "dark and gritty" being fashionable or not. The TONE is not the issue. It's how the character and story are written.
