After receiving generally mixed to positive reviews by both critics and fans alike, Director James Mangold goes on to explain to a fellow Twitter user when fans of The Wolverine can expect the sequel to start filming as of right now. The conversation follows below...

So what do you think CBM family? Can we possibly expect to see the sequel to The Wolverine release in 2017 if X-Men: Apocalypse is already aimed for a May 27, 2016 release? Where would you like to see the sequel go and why? Sound off in the comment section.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

Yay another Wolverine movie.

Meanwhile there's no word on Deadpool or X-Force.
DrDoom - 3/15/2014, 4:13 PM
WolverThreen would be Fox's ninth X-Men film. They're only allowed one more after that, so you ain't gettin both Deadpool and X-Force.
CaptainAmerica - 3/15/2014, 4:15 PM
Lol I love how Marvel Zombies make stupid rules up about Fox.
CaptainAmerica - 3/15/2014, 4:16 PM
Durr I read the contract, they're only allowed 10 films durrrrrr.
GizmoEl - 3/15/2014, 4:18 PM
I thought their contract was as long as they kept making movies within time frames fox kept the rights.
TheRationalNerd - 3/15/2014, 4:19 PM
@McNy

All I know is that the X-Force script is finished and it's gained a lot of praise that comic fans will love. It's featuring five total members on the team and Cable and Deadpool will be in it as well.

MrCBM56 - 3/15/2014, 4:21 PM
Too bad. Lol it's happening. Don't go see it.

But after The Wolverine, I'm so excited for this.
CaptainAmerica - 3/15/2014, 4:21 PM
GizmoEl, exactly, I don't know why some idiot would think other wise.
DeadManDann - 3/15/2014, 4:22 PM
If they can take all of the good elements of The Wolverine and build from them (maybe committing a bit more strongly, tone-wise), I'll be a happy camper.
npamusic - 3/15/2014, 4:23 PM
@DrDoom what do you mean they won't be allowed to do any more films after te 9th film? I don't understand why. Explain it to me? Do they only have a contract for 9 films? I'm sure they're going to extend the contract, or something along those lines.

There wouldn't be hype around X-Force / the director of Kick-Ass 2 wouldn't have said talks were being made / he's got a script if it weren't going through, I mean he could've be more cryptic about it or denied it all together.
npamusic - 3/15/2014, 4:24 PM
I believe @GizmoEl is right. They can continue to make x amount of films as long as they do it in a certain time frame. There's no limit...
DurtyTalynt - 3/15/2014, 4:27 PM
Another episode of Wolverine : As the World Turns. No thanks. No more Hugh Jackman traveling around the world getting his ass handed to him by everyone and throwing his throat out screaming at the sky naked dreaming of Jean while kissing random chicms with no chemistry. Never thought Id see the worst action scenes and choreoghraphy come from a got damn Wolverine movie. Due to restrictions from Fox Hugh Jackman is not allowed to wear clothes as an xman or win fights.
TheRationalNerd - 3/15/2014, 4:27 PM
I wonder if newcomers to the character of Cable will be all like "They copied that from The Winter Soldier?!" lol

McNyagano - 3/15/2014, 4:28 PM
@TheBlackNerd

Thanks:) When is it suppose to come out?
ATrueHero1987 - 3/15/2014, 4:30 PM
@McNy Notice how Millar was hyping Wadlow(director of Kick-Ass 2) for X-Force to FOX. Then after KA2 came out, we didn't hear anything else about X-Force...lol
TheRationalNerd - 3/15/2014, 4:33 PM
@McNyagano

No prob at all my brotha!

@ATrueHero1987

Lol, it's been on mute for a while I can't lie about that, but it's definitely getting the green light.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 3/15/2014, 4:34 PM
At this point, giving him a suit will be the ONLY thing that would get me to see another Wolverine movie
Marvel1997 - 3/15/2014, 4:34 PM
""""Ep of Wolverine: As The World Turns""""
LMFAAOO^^^^!!!!
TheRationalNerd - 3/15/2014, 4:35 PM
@McNy

And I don't know man... They haven't really gave it an official release date but my bet would probably be the same year as Apocalypse o show of the alternate future perspective or 2017 (possibly) along with The Wolverine sequel.
BatManHeisenberg - 3/15/2014, 4:35 PM
Why can't fox make more, DrDoom?
Tony93 - 3/15/2014, 4:35 PM
geeze give another x men a shot
Buu - 3/15/2014, 4:41 PM
Yes! The Wolverine was great! I like it more every time I see it, so I'm looking forward to the sequel.
McNyagano - 3/15/2014, 4:43 PM
TheBlackNerd

Ahh I see, hopefully it's after Apocalypse or Wolverine 3. Been dreading to see that.

@ATrueHero1987

LOL I'm sure they're working on it:D

Also guys, please give the article a thumps up. I did, go on guys. Hard work deserves to be recognised:D
Destined - 3/15/2014, 4:44 PM
This is just meh news...I mean yeah. The first was aight so yeah...a bit over it.
m0th3r - 3/15/2014, 4:47 PM
So he is in Apocalypse...that was sort of up in the air...

I'll see it..last one was good enough to warrant me going back in for Mangold...
BatManHeisenberg - 3/15/2014, 4:49 PM
Liked. But I am eager to see this now.
Buu - 3/15/2014, 4:49 PM
Wolverine is my favourite Marvel character, so the more, the merrier.
BANEofExistence - 3/15/2014, 4:51 PM
this nearly confirms Hugh will be back after Days of Future Past! I hope he has a cameo or small part in Apocalypse (Id like to see Hugh Wolverine getting possessed as a henchmen of Apocalypse. It would give the GA a "sentimental" feel that comic fans felt for Angel...)
Poolio - 3/15/2014, 4:53 PM
Where the hell is my movie FOX!!!!
BANEofExistence - 3/15/2014, 4:57 PM

Odin - 3/15/2014, 4:58 PM
Do we honestly need another Wolverine solo film.
jrp6048 - 3/15/2014, 5:01 PM
@Blacknerd great job and I was wondering if you knew which team members will be on x-force?
Bloodraven - 3/15/2014, 5:05 PM
Stop making shit up @DrDoom. Fox keep the rights to X-Men as long as they bring out on film at least every four years.

IMO, The Wolverine was the only X-Men film that was just alright.
McNyagano - 3/15/2014, 5:06 PM
"Do we honestly need another Wolverine solo film."

Yeah sure, why not? We've had 5 Wolverine films now with a 6th one coming this year, I think people like him. That's why we're getting a 7th;)
0bstreperous - 3/15/2014, 5:06 PM
Hugh jackman for the win

Ocelot - 3/15/2014, 5:11 PM
They should redo The Weapon X story and do it properly this time, Days of Future Past gives them the opportunity to do that. Cold War setting with Omega Red as the villain.
TheGreatBender - 3/15/2014, 5:23 PM
Fox has the X-Men rights for eternity as long as they keep making them. Doom is full of shit.
marvel72 - 3/15/2014, 5:28 PM
marvel studios & fox should loan characters to each other.

marvel studios wants silver surfer & galactus for their cosmic movies.

fox can borrow the hulk,wolverine 3:wolverine vs hulk.
TheBaroness89 - 3/15/2014, 5:55 PM
No costume...dont care.
TheRationalNerd - 3/15/2014, 6:00 PM
