While they played a major role in Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class, sources close to the production of the Bryan Singer helmed X-Men: Days of Future Past have reportedly confirmed that the villainous organisation will NOT be back in the sequel. Read on for details!

We know that a lot of past X-Men cast members will be making an appearance in X-Men: Days of Future Past, but there are still several notable mutants missing from both that timeline AND the one created in Matthew Vaughn's prequel. In a piece over at The Geek Files, the site reveals that they know of at least one element from X-Men: First Class which won't be playing a role in the sequel.

The Geek Files has heard from studio sources that 'the Hellfire Club [from X-Men: First Class] is not in this story', suggesting it might not be just Jason Flemyng's Azazel who isn't coming back. That would also seem to rule out Emma Frost (January Jones), Riptide (Alex Gonzalez) and Angel Salvadore (Zoe Kravitz).

The site brings up a very interesting point here. While I don't think that any of us were necessarily expecting to see the Hellfire Club play as big a role in this sequel - the fact that the remaining members joined Magneto's Brotherhood at the end of X-Men: First Class may have been proof enough of that - does this revelation mean that we won't see the former members return in any capacity? Flemyng and Jones have already said that they don't expect to be back, while we've heard nothing about the others so far (and they weren't included on the board that Singer Tweeted yesterday), although none of them would REALLY be missed.

Sanderman - 3/16/2013, 7:16 PM
I'm ok if they're not in it but at least explain why or what h happened to them
ATrueHero1987 - 3/16/2013, 7:18 PM
Like I've said,(and others before), this is a sequel to X3 & X-Men: FC in one.
IIIAdamantiumIII - 3/16/2013, 7:18 PM
riptide was soooooooo lame
marvel72 - 3/16/2013, 7:18 PM
yeah because adding the hellfire club would of just f*cked up the movie continuity.
jessepostal - 3/16/2013, 7:21 PM
they were all pretty terrible in first class
InfiniteMonkey - 3/16/2013, 7:22 PM
Good. They'll just [frick] it up again anyway.
No need to trample on a dead shit horse when the people at the helm don't even know how to handle it.
RamonSuarez - 3/16/2013, 7:24 PM
I still feel as if they should have just rebooted the thing and done First Class with a young pool of mutants being taught by Professor X and Magneto. Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, Beast, and Angel would eventually side with Xavier. Mystique, Pyro, Avalanche, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch side with Magneto.

Then you go with a Sentinels storyline that's like Days of Future Past if you wanted.
StormLoganSummers - 3/16/2013, 7:24 PM
The Hellfire Club dissolved at the end of FC, so of course it isn't coming back.
mctrinket - 3/16/2013, 7:25 PM
January Jones was pretty awful.
marvel72 - 3/16/2013, 7:26 PM
sebastian shaw was alright
emma frost was terrible/good scenes of undress
azazel was terrible/good action scenes
angel was shit
riptide was a steaming pile of shit

BaneNascent - 3/16/2013, 7:27 PM
I think fox will ride this franchise into the ground like 007 movies. It'll just keep going forever and there will be a point where nobody cares and even if they make a super good one, all of the bad ones will drown it out.
GhostZero - 3/16/2013, 7:27 PM
To the hell with the Hellfire Club, just bring Emma Frost back.
Ramiel - 3/16/2013, 7:29 PM
Not even the X-Men come back since only Beast and Xavier return.
RamonSuarez - 3/16/2013, 7:29 PM
I thought Kevin Bacon owned Sebastian Shaw. A shame they couldn't give him a proper Hellfire club to work with.
RamonSuarez - 3/16/2013, 7:30 PM
And I hope they don't introduce Apocalypse before they introduce Mr. Sinister. You don't introduce the Emperor Palpatine villain before his Darth Vader minion.
TheSuperguy - 3/16/2013, 7:32 PM
Well it would make sense since Shaw died and the others became part of the Brotherhood.
CoulsonLives - 3/16/2013, 7:34 PM
What happened to Banshee and Havok?
TerminalVoyd - 3/16/2013, 7:42 PM
Well, Singer had something like six spots open on the wall. I'm hoping two are for Marsden and Janssen. The others, well, new faces or old, I'm cool, though time is very quickly running short before they start rolling.
WYLEEJAY - 3/16/2013, 7:42 PM
I thought it was pretty apparent that they were done after first class, they joined the brotherhood. After that, they fell from relevance. Wish it wasn't true.
mattattack - 3/16/2013, 7:43 PM
I only care to hear if Havok is back, the rest I don't care about.
TheAbomination - 3/16/2013, 7:44 PM
Fine with me. There's too many characters in this movie already.
RamonSuarez - 3/16/2013, 7:55 PM
Fox always makes its mutant characters throw aways with the exception of:

1.) Professor X
2.) Magneto
3.) Wolverine
4.) Mystique
5.) Maybe Jean Grey and Storm
BANE5000 - 3/16/2013, 8:08 PM
Ummm isnt thata give in, I mean Magneto killed their leader, so that was the end of the Hellfire Club and the birth of The Brotherhood :]
typicalfanboy - 3/16/2013, 8:14 PM
Are havok, banshee, or moira coming back? Doesn't look like it
gambgel - 3/16/2013, 8:25 PM
Azazel and Emma Frost are great characters.
To me its a shame Fox and creative team dont want to develop them on the series.

They had great potential
JoeMomma29 - 3/16/2013, 8:27 PM
That is the worst Emma Frost Pic if you ask me! Emma is supposed to be freakin sexy!
TheRationalNerd - 3/16/2013, 8:37 PM

TheRationalNerd - 3/16/2013, 8:40 PM
Since the film is taking place in the 70's do you all think we'll see more new mutants from his brotherhood of evil mutants??

-Quake (In this case the guy from first class)

who else could possibly be on his team during this time period???
TheRationalNerd - 3/16/2013, 8:45 PM

m0th3r - 3/16/2013, 8:45 PM
doesn't cares little for continuity, cannon or even common sense...

Singer will just use the same cast, put them in HORRIBLE costumes, tell some tale of that is a parable for his own life like every movie he does, then get pissed when we ask questions...only to see it be released to a giant "WTF"

continues to be funnier and funnier..
CodeNameCap - 3/16/2013, 8:52 PM
MUST. HAVE. HAVOK! He was incredible in FC and deserves to be back.
superbigguy32 - 3/16/2013, 8:56 PM
polarkyle - 3/16/2013, 9:10 PM
well of course their not going to be in it because it's going to be called brotherhood this time
DurtyTalynt - 3/16/2013, 9:37 PM
Are u surprised? Whats good? No expectations that any of had has com to fruition for this franchise so why expect them now?
Brady1138 - 3/16/2013, 9:38 PM
I thought the Hellfire Club dissolved anyway after Shaw died?
