Concept artist, Evan Shipard ("Thor"), posted concept art from 20th Century Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The film starred Hugh Jackman and was directed by Gavin Hood.

In 1845 Canada, young James Howlett sees his father killed by groundskeeper Thomas Logan. The trauma activates the boy's mutation: bone claws protrude from James' hands, and he kills Logan. In his dying breath, Logan tells James that he is his real father. James flees with Logan's abused son and James' half-brother Victor Creed(A theory has also sprung up that Dog Logan from the Wolverine Origins comic may also be the future Sabertooth, and that the characters are one and the same, except for the difference of name in the movie and comic). The two survive for over a century as men in their prime, living out their violent urges together in the American Civil War and both World Wars. During the Vietnam War, Victor kills a superior after he stops a rape attempt, James defends his brother and the two are executed by firing squad, which they survive. Major William Stryker approaches the two and offers them membership in Team X, a group of mutants which includes marksman Agent Zero, mercenary Wade Wilson, teleporter John Wraith, invincible Fred Dukes and electricity-controlling Chris Bradley. The duo joins the team, but the group's questionable actions cause James to leave.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) - was directed by Gavin Hood, from a script written by David Benioff and Skip Woods. It starred: Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston, Lynn Collins, Taylor Kitsch, Kevin Durand and Ryan Reynolds. It grossed over $370 million at the worldwide box office.

I honestly hated this movie but that's to be expected. Fell asleep during the middle only to wake up at the end to Logan fighting a Rock'em Sock'em robot said to be Silver Samurai. Despite that I didn't hate it as much as I did Iron 3 since Marvel Studio's should've known better, plus I actually paid to see that rape take place in theaters giving it the benefit of the doubt. So Ironman's solo films might as well be Fox-Marvel films, being that I won't support any of them moving forward. Thor is on thin ice and with DCCU trying to step their game up (At least I hope) that disposable money I squander can easily start going in WB's pocket instead.

Shitty movie, Fun game

Best X-flick EVAHH!!!!
(in the parallel universe)
Faris - 7/6/2014, 2:16 PM
The director essentially shitted on 3 great Wolverine stories: The Origin, Weapon X and the one in which Sabretooth rapes and kills Silver Fox

The only watchable stuff are Hugh as Wolvie and Kitch as Gambit (I really hated this iteration of Sabretooth, much preferred Tyler Mane in the role)
Humperdink - 7/6/2014, 2:19 PM
I equate watching Origins to hugging a feral cat.

Still waiting on a "wolverine" movie. Or an xmen movie for that matter. After reading about the wolverine on here and some of the positive remarks, I was really hoping it would be good despite my pre-conceived notions. As usual, I was let down.
WeaponX93 - 7/6/2014, 2:49 PM
Woulda liked to have seen that under water bit.

Movie was weak compared to the other X-Men franchise.
However it's far from the worst film & nowhere near as bad as Batman & Robin.

You can watch that movie but only if fast forward button is ready.
It has some cool action & stuff but as a whole it's just wrong.

Good thing this has been erased from the timeline so I can pretend it never happened.

@YoungThanos You are talking about the last year's The Wolverine, but this article is about the Origins-movie; the one nobody likes, not even studios.
FastFlames - 7/6/2014, 3:25 PM
This movie sucks pe it's
ComicsBornAndBred - 7/6/2014, 3:39 PM
Art is better than film
ShelfPorn - 7/6/2014, 3:50 PM
The got the part right about Wolverine having claws - the rest made no sense and was amazingly horrible.
InfiniteMonkey - 7/6/2014, 4:06 PM
I agree the art is quite nice and better than that dumbass film.

The sooner he dies the better.
dethpillow - 7/6/2014, 4:23 PM
the road to hell is sometimes paved with good concept art.

it's funny how the cut scenes in the Wolverine videogame are better than the movie too. the whole movie would've been so much better off being video game cutscenes.

i don't mind watching this one for some reason. as long as it's just background music for whatever. it's kinda goofy enough i think that it makes it easier to not even really pay enough attention to it. the hardest to watch for me are ones like X3. where it has enough almost great things in it to suck me in and then the bad stuff about it really burns.
Mercwitham0uth - 7/6/2014, 5:54 PM
Good concept art but the movie.....

UltimateCookie - 7/6/2014, 6:12 PM
What's with the fifth picture? Was Mariko supposed to be in this movie?

"@YoungThanos You are talking about the last year's The Wolverine, but this article is about the Origins-movie; the one nobody likes, not even studios."

Oh....I see it now.

Well is it forgiven that I couldn't tell the difference initially?

Best CBM yet.

Actually, no. Terrible film. Ranks among Ghost Rider, Catwoman and Steel.
HOTSHOT - 7/6/2014, 11:54 PM
If only the movie itself looked this well made.

corey81 - 7/7/2014, 7:12 AM
this movie wasn't as bad as you people put it out to be. There are way worst cbm's like superman 3,superman4,hellboy2,batman & robin, steel, ghost rider 1,2, ironman2,3,thor2,spiderman3,and many more that are worst than this movie.
Greengo - 7/10/2014, 6:58 PM
