More Alternate Sentinel Designs For X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Conceptual artist, Maciej Kuciara ("Guardians of the Galaxy"), worked on designs for the Sentinels seen in 20th Century Fox's box office hit, X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past will be directed by Bryan Singer ("Usual Suspects"). The cast includes: Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Peter Dinklage, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Daniel Cudmore, Booboo Stewart, Omar Sy, Fan Bingbing, Evan Jonigkeit, Adan Canto and Josh Helman, X-Men: Days Of Future Past hits UK cinemas on May 22 and US cinemas the following day.

not bad
rebellion - 5/28/2014, 11:43 AM
the last two are perfect. still like what we got but those would be even better.
Ginrocks - 5/28/2014, 11:44 AM
Man, this movie was great!
ClosetNerd - 5/28/2014, 11:44 AM
Would've liked to have seen a sentinel with more traps/neck as a nod to Nimrod.
BlindJustice - 5/28/2014, 11:44 AM
Meh...ok. Still reminds me of a certain something Thor once battled...

MisterBabadook - 5/28/2014, 11:45 AM
The movie was good but I just don't understand why they had to look so much different.
Sxcory - 5/28/2014, 11:45 AM
I really like the ones we got, but a few of these are badass. Would've been nice to have a few different versions out there. Each one more suited for a specific type of mutant ability.
BlindJustice - 5/28/2014, 11:46 AM
I seriously don't see how ANY of the X-Men lived up to that point though.
imnotwearinghockeypants - 5/28/2014, 11:46 AM
The last few look great. Not really a fan of the T-1000 look for a Sentinel.
BestAtWhatIDo - 5/28/2014, 11:47 AM
Have to echo @rebellion - love those last two, they work as a really good adaptation of Nimrod, and not just as cool designs.
Amazing512 - 5/28/2014, 11:47 AM
I really wish they would have gone with comic versions but these aren't bad.
RetroFit - 5/28/2014, 11:47 AM
The design Singer picked for the future Sentinels looks like it was patterned after a teenage boy. Can't be a coincidence...
mmadadamm - 5/28/2014, 11:49 AM
they look exactly like the destroyer, shooting beams from the face? I mean cmon. they could've at least shot em from their hands to make em more like the ones in the comic, but for some reason they wanted to blatantly copy the Destroyer

MrReese - 5/28/2014, 11:53 AM
Say what u want bout the Sentinels but they damn sure did a hella of lot more damage than The Destroyer did.The Sentinetels were [frick]in ruthless in the future. The body count already outweighs anything The Destroyer did in Thor.N I liked Thor.XD
MrReese - 5/28/2014, 11:56 AM
Yea I would have liked 2 have seen this Sentinel instead.

I think that design was better.Still happy overall. :)
SauronsBANE - 5/28/2014, 11:56 AM
"I seriously don't see how ANY of the X-Men lived up to that point though."

That's actually a really good point. They got torn apart in minutes by those Sentinels...have the Sentinels never tried fighting the mutants with that much backup before? It seemed a little TOO easy...

But I guess the movie covers its butt by saying that Kitty keeps using her inexplicably-new time-traveling powers to keep sending them back a day or two and avoid ambushes and whatnot. It's not a very satisfying answer, but I guess I can buy that.
Ocelot - 5/28/2014, 11:59 AM
The second image along with the bottom two are really good. I think those would have been used if not for Iron Man and The Silver Samurai designs.
DeusExSponge - 5/28/2014, 11:59 AM
The the last 3 designs are awesome! Wish they had used those in the movie and had them be different variants.
MrReese - 5/28/2014, 11:59 AM
P.S I know everything was erased. XD
Pasto - 5/28/2014, 12:03 PM
Dat teaser image though. Love the designs, wish they used it in the final project.

RetroFit - 5/28/2014, 12:03 PM
I'm still waiting to hear an explanation for why Professor Picard isn't dead in the future. I know the end credit shows he's transferred his consciousness but into what? His twin? None of it makes any sense and it seems that it doesn't make sense to Kinberg either who said they just preferred to ignore that completely.

BlindJustice - 5/28/2014, 12:03 PM
@MrReese - Yes, I know..But it still looks like they recycled The Destroyer and added some T-1000 influence. Also, pretty much everyone knows The Destroyer was watered down in least I hope they do.

@SauronsBANE1 - True enough.
MrReese - 5/28/2014, 12:04 PM
Kitty wasn't able 2 send the message 2 warn them a back a day or 2 once she sent Logan back.I assume they were already in hiding, while most likely the Sentinels were searching 4 them through out the movie.Obviously at the end they find them & everything goes 2 shit in the future till Raven switches her mind & thus erasing everything from happening.
Humperdink - 5/28/2014, 12:05 PM
Finally saw it yesterday.

It was the best X-men movie since X-2.
I wish there were more awesome moments like Quicksilver and the future scenes, but for what it was, it was a good flick.

For me it's not Cap 2 good, but definitely not Spider-man 2 bad.
4 out of 5 for me.

Cap 2 was a 5.
Spidey an unfortunate 2.
sKeemAn - 5/28/2014, 12:07 PM
Wow these are pretty scary. that one pic reminds me of a character from Killer Instinct. Man these things were ruthless.
BlindJustice - 5/28/2014, 12:08 PM
@MrReese - Yeah, aside from what the critics on this site say... That movie had some really cool scenes. I guess those Sentinels in the Danger Room were just what the X-Men envisioned giant killer robots to look like.
MrReese - 5/28/2014, 12:09 PM
@BlindJustice Yea he was watered down, but u can't knock Singer for utilizing the concept better.Only thing that bothered me was the Sentinels using Rogue's powers & playing it off as Mystiques.
Nick56 - 5/28/2014, 12:10 PM
Cool. the future sentinels were scary as [frick]!
sKeemAn - 5/28/2014, 12:12 PM
Other than the color and facial they are really not that far off from the Nimrods in the comics.

MrReese - 5/28/2014, 12:13 PM
@BlindJustice I happened 2 enjoy it more the second time round.Movie was definitely good.I was one that laughed at the pics of QS & he damn sure proved ppl wrong.Including me.I'm happy with the end result overall.Which in turn peaks my interest even more 4 Apocalypse.
grif - 5/28/2014, 12:13 PM
dont even compare these pieces of shit to the awesome destroyer from thor
sKeemAn - 5/28/2014, 12:14 PM
I think Singer did a great job with the Sentinels.
BlindJustice - 5/28/2014, 12:15 PM
Btw, Chris Claremont wrote a scene with the Danger Room at the end of his novelized X2 (movie) book. He has a certain Cajun there as one of the newest recruits. A shame they didn't use Gambit in that opening X3 scene... The fans would've been shocked.

Hopefully Gambit will be good in Apocalypse. I'm curious if he'll be one of the Four Horsemen. The casting seems a bit out a certain WB/DC recent casting.
JoJo1982 - 5/28/2014, 12:16 PM
Those look cool

I see Juggernaut in one of those concept arts
sKeemAn - 5/28/2014, 12:16 PM

Lol!! Awesome Destroyer who only blew up a few cars. In the comics Destroyer was a formidable foe for Thor. In the movies Thor took him out in one move.
BlindJustice - 5/28/2014, 12:17 PM
@sKeemAn - Who would win in a fight... Ultron or Nimrod?
BlindJustice - 5/28/2014, 12:18 PM
@JoJo1982 - Yeah, I thought that big husky fellow looked familiar haha.
sKeemAn - 5/28/2014, 12:24 PM

I'd give it to Ultron. As he is the more intelligent being. Nimrod can adapt but how would it adapt to intelligence? Good one.
shamo - 5/28/2014, 12:25 PM
Loved the Sentinels. They were extremely threatening unlike some other pushover villains in CBMs.
Also, back up to a 92% on RT. I'm so happy to see everyone loving this movie. After Last Stand I thought it would be over for the X-men.
