Mutant And Not So Proud! Colossus Eats A Western X-Tra Bacon Thickburger

Mutant And Not So Proud! Colossus Eats A Western X-Tra Bacon Thickburger

20th Century Fox has teamed up with Carl's Jr. and Hardee's for a series of cross-promotional ads. The latest commercial features Colossus (Daniel Cudmore) from Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past, eating a Western X-Tra Bacon Thickburger.

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past will be directed by Bryan Singer ("Usual Suspects"). The cast includes: Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Peter Dinklage, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Daniel Cudmore, Booboo Stewart, Omar Sy, Fan Bingbing, Evan Jonigkeit, Adan Canto and Josh Helman, X-Men: Days Of Future Past hits UK cinemas on May 22 and US cinemas the following day.

They forgot to show the heart attack he has after eating that crap.
TheRationalNerd - 4/29/2014, 1:10 AM
I saw this on Adult Swim not too long ago. I didn't even know he was going to be all cgi'd up. lol
dethpillow - 4/29/2014, 1:17 AM
[frick] this movie, dude.

this is the last nail in the coffin. [frick] DOFP.

X-Men movies suck sooo bad in ways that it's embarrassing to catalog. and then they walk around and do commercials like this. so [frick]ing epic, X-Men.
[frick] this movie, i am totally this movies enemy now.

i hope we get more Nightcrawler soon, he was a real house of cards in X2.
har har. also loved the kid with the blue tongue. arf arf, Singer forever on this bullshit franchise. [frick] this movie. these ads are disgusting.

TheRationalNerd - 4/29/2014, 1:21 AM

Lol, dude it's just a fast food commercial? I don't think you should take them that seriously...
dethpillow - 4/29/2014, 1:28 AM
yeah, i guess i'm whacky, nailbiter111.

go figure.;

Emjeed - 4/29/2014, 1:31 AM
Lol @ Deth..

@nails.. did you get my message?
SageMode - 4/29/2014, 1:32 AM
GeekyCheekyChic - 4/29/2014, 1:40 AM
See this is why I can't take this shit seriously. The first really good looking serious X-Men film since X-Men 2 and this is what they do for promotion?
dethpillow - 4/29/2014, 1:43 AM
this was gross when it was just Quicksilver, now it's gotta be Colossus too?

Bryan Singer! keep the dream of the 90s alive, Bryan, knock yourself out.

that's not very whacky, this movie is ridiculous.
i'm not even pretending it's not anymore. look at this stuff...
seriously, nothing is whacky about how gross everything is about it.

X-Men movies all suck. bar none. except maybe First Class. First Class is good. Origins was good in concept. X-Men just plain suck. it's like being trapped in the 90s forever.

the dream of the 90s is alive in Fox X-Men.
knock yourselves out, peace to that. i am counting myself out of this crap.
zip goes the lip, dethpillow.

but [frick] this 90s X-Men tribal tattoo stupid stuffing Colossus' face with dead pigs and whatever. Quicksilver is muching down on more dead pigs and rotten animal shit. what the hell is that?

this is the [frick]ing X-Men, it's not some carnival of army pocket pants rave looking bowling alley repairmen. it's not like junior year ROTC looking, Nightcrawler cracking bad jokes and Pee Wee Herman looking eating dead animals everysecond for goddam Carl's commercials. do comic book characers eat dead animals? yeah, most of them do.

but a Carl's commercial rolling around in the greasy face glory of it is just sickening. This is the X-Men. for [frick]'s sake. what the hell is this?
promotions at fast food restaurants are way different then these kind of stupid commercials. it's totally disgusting. nothing is whacky about it, unless you're just running around calling everything whacky.

i think you're whacky, Nailbiter for using the word whacky. i think that's whacky. there u go. so goddam whackky.

TheRationalNerd - 4/29/2014, 1:47 AM
Henry Cavill starred in a Jack in the Box commercial and I still took Man of Steel serious. lol

Spider-Man has been in McDonald's Happy Meal commercials and has also been moon walking with little kids and yet I was still able to take his performance seriously in TASM2. lol

It's not like they have Magneto drinking a Slurpee and eating sour patch kids or a Sentinel break dancing doing the running man?! lol

It's just a character eating a sandwich for promotion??
dethpillow - 4/29/2014, 1:50 AM
and yeah, i don't eat meat. i think it's beyond gross.
and i don't care about any of your politics about it. it's a black and white issue about life and death. seriously. i don't jump or rag on anyone about it in everday life, i don't mention it here ever.

but this is disgusting. seriously.

i mean to say it's only gross is neglecting to mention how people murder animals every day just to have the convenience of eating them. that's disgusting. and like i said, i don't bring it up until they drag the [frick]ing X-Men into their little suckfest of meat eating.

leave the X-Men alone dude. i [frick]ing hate Carl's Jr. I hate all of them, [frick] this movie. for real. and zip on my lip for real too. i don't wanna be a downer on it. but [frick] it. i am not watching this movie, it is my goddam enemy.
dethpillow - 4/29/2014, 1:53 AM
@BlackNerd - yeah, there's arguments. who cares about arguments. look at what u have in front of u.

that's the only thing that exists. nothing ever has to do with squirming around, making arguments.

make arguments until u choke on yourself. who cares. it's not about arguments. it's about what is right in front of you.
TheRationalNerd - 4/29/2014, 1:54 AM

Oh yeah that's right...Good looking out!

TheRationalNerd - 4/29/2014, 1:57 AM

I actually understand where you're coming from because of your hatred of (possible) animal abuse just for people to get tasty meals like that. So I can relate bro. I can still remember breaking down in the grocery store crying after I saw Pig's Feet in the meats aisle. I've been thinking about just eating chicken and fish once I get out on my own. I've seen some crazy vids of how they treat animals and it's just not humane or right in anyway.
dethpillow - 4/29/2014, 2:00 AM
@ShadowPimp - i don't "hate" it now. but yeah, i thought it looked crappy before this, yeah. you're right about that.

it's always looked crappy to me. and it's always taken an extra step to try and find anything positive to feel about it. so you're right about that. i've never thought it looked good. it doesn't look good now, but then plus it's extra gross seeing Colossus eating bacon. i mean, for me it is.

most people aren't gonna care. but to me, it's extra gross.

but i'm only talking about myself. so you're right about a point that i feel like is not very important in the context. u see what i mean?

how can i talk for anyone except for myself?
dethpillow - 4/29/2014, 2:09 AM
@BlackNerd - well i'm not trying to make anyone feel bad or bring this up cuz of some kind of issue. it's actually just it pissed me off and i said it. but i don't want u or anyone else to feel like anyone is on their ass about things. that's not what i meant, and not that you're saying that's what i meant. but i just wish i'd never said anything actually, haha.

even tho, i'm gonna 80% of the time. u know what i mean? i don't rag on the movie either cuz it's actually got nothing to do with the movie and i was just pissed off about the ads and stuff.

so it's just a big dumb thing, and it's a bad thing and i hate things like this cuz it sets up this fake system of "i don't eat meat" vs "i eat meat". which i've done a ton of animal rights shit and that's the biggest problem with that whole scene, is the fundamentalist attitude about it.

cuz a lot of them don't actually care about animals. they just care about being right, and sometimes it's just an extension of like how i got pissed off at this ad cuz of what was in it, but they stick with that.

but what it turns things into is some kind of conflict, and actually, it's not a conflict and it's important to point out, cuz actually there shouldn't be such things as "vegans" or "vegetarians", u know? every time u eat, you're making a choice about what to eat, and if you choose not to eat meat, believe it or not, for real, u are making a choice that saves lives. i don't wanna get all into it and preach and stuff, but i'll just leave it at that. but the thing is, there doesn't need to be some kind of state where u are "clean" or "pure" or whatever. everytime u make a choice to do anything, it's a clean slate.

so i've divorced myself from movements like that, becuz they're full of shit, and i hate them now. it's really about pride, and ego and sometimes even money that they end up revolving around, instead of actually trying to understand that there's a middle ground. you can eat meat in the mornings and not in the night. or you can do whatever you want. every time u choose, that means something, and not in a guilty way, but in the sense that it's a fresh chance to do something different.

and that's why i always regret bringing stuff like that up. cuz it's so easily turned into a fundamentalist, us against them scenario. which it's totally not. anyways. i don't hate the movie anymore, i was just pissed off.
Scarilian - 4/29/2014, 2:28 AM
I know we are not meant to take the commercials seriously... but... why? This just seems to lower the characters... its not just X-Men but whenever a Superhero shows up in a commercial it just seems like they are lowering their standards.

Only exception to this is Samuel L Jackson because he's kind of a bad-ass whatever he does... but still it just makes them seem weaker to me. It just makes the characters seem like a joke.

Anywho... case of the shrinking burger syndrome again at 00:18

ToysVintage - 4/29/2014, 2:30 AM
Colossus vs fast food :)
guillimunster - 4/29/2014, 2:54 AM
how do you know someones ones a vegan?

don't worry, they'll let you know.
QuestiontheAnswer - 4/29/2014, 2:59 AM
These promotional stunts are becoming ridiculous, I doubt they're pulling in any new viewers.
dethpillow - 4/29/2014, 3:22 AM
@gullimunster - there's no such thing as a vegan actually. cuz you'd have to ask what the criteria was for being that and no one really has a good answer for that. so there's no such thing.

but... of course people who don't eat animals usually, of course they are gonna mention this to you.

look at what you're doing and look at what they believe in.

they might not do it the first time they meet you, but at some point, after you know a person, at some point this value is going to come out. that's not embarrassing to anyone. it's not like you're trying to present it, like "vegans" are walking around just waiting to tell u about how they think they're superior.

nothing like that is going on. and just that u think of it in such a silly way is already, u don't believe the same things they do. it's not a joke, dude.
it's not cute to eat this or not eat his.

why wouldn't it come out? why wouldn't you find out that someone felt this way?

wouldn't that make sense? I would kind of expect it, myself.

people always try and dismiss with the exact tactics that you're using... and you're not being a dick, you're just doing what things seem like to u. but it's pretty common and it's time to start calling it out, cuz it's missing the point entirely.

point is, of course they are gonna tell you about it. it's a pretty important thing if you believe in it, why would you keep it a secret?

what's any possible reason to keep that a secret forever?

dethpillow - 4/29/2014, 3:25 AM
@guillimonster - so what are u saying with that?

nothing meaningful, it's just a rinse and a reset.
it's cheap thinking like that. it's not even funny. what is it?

it's just pretend depressing.

it's not even really depressing. it's like pretend globetrotter or whatever.
eat your heart out with it, that'll get u all over the place right?

Himura - 4/29/2014, 3:41 AM
I miss their ads with scantily clad women
Luminus - 4/29/2014, 4:14 AM
@ShadowPimp723: your anecdote is irrelevant as all anecdotes are. I spent 2 years working with a guy who drank a pint of vodka every single day and never got drunk or sick. I guess alcohol isn't bad for you then? We should let kids drink it, just like they eat candy. What's the harm? Right?

Some people tell me there's nothing wrong with smoking cigarettes. Some people tell me there's nothing wrong with doing drugs. Some people tell me there's nothing wrong with adultery. Funny how all these people are actively involved in the activity they don't find anything wrong with.
DZ123 - 4/29/2014, 4:29 AM
Anyone complaining should remember those Twinkie ads at Seanbaby's.
TheAstoundingMan - 4/29/2014, 4:30 AM
I saw the Mystique ad on tv a few days ago, and it's just cringe worthy. I wouldn't go so far as to suggest that it demeans the characters if it is done right (I actually liked the MoS one), but these just seem lazy. It's just the characters, in front of a blank wall, showing off their abilities while eating a burger.
Spock0Clock - 4/29/2014, 5:03 AM
Hey, Fox, why don't you go to the Selling-Out-Store to buy more Sell-Out-Juice?

Oh, sorry. You can't. They're all sold out!

GetsugaTensho22 - 4/29/2014, 5:07 AM
@Dethpillow: Did you skip your medication again? Ugh.

Anyway, It's great to see Colossus finally getting some attention. He wasn't anything more than a glorified extra before. Awesome.
YeezusWept - 4/29/2014, 5:08 AM
Did Jennifer Lawrence do one of these yet?? Nothing sexier than a nude blue girl eating a burger.
SuperCat - 4/29/2014, 5:18 AM
The movie "Super Size Me" forever ruined my appetite for fast-food. Cant eat any of that stuff after seeing that. Cool commercial though.

Pasto - 4/29/2014, 5:33 AM
I agree with Sage and Deth.
KIDDSOUL - 4/29/2014, 6:11 AM
A fictional character that eats a FICTIONAL burger that looks like that? I see others buy the x-tra bacon thickburger and it does not look like what they are advertising. That hamburger you see in the commercial is not real. It looks like a prop compared to what I see people order. Oh well, to each his own.
MexicanSexyman - 4/29/2014, 7:51 AM
@ Dethpillow, you remind me of a lady in a video getting mad at a guy for having a diesel truck. She starts to flip out like you minus the cussing in front of a child. Do what you want to do but don't bring up your political bs in here. You are so sad to go over broad about some 20 second commercial.
fettastic - 4/29/2014, 7:51 AM
