Everything Wrong With X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

Everything Wrong With X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

Now that Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past is about to land in theaters it seems to be a good time for Cinema Sin to debut their "Everything Wrong With" video for Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class. Come check it out!

X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

X-Men: First Class was directed by Matthew Vaughn ("Kick-Ass"), from a screenplay written by Ashley Edward Miller, Zack Stentz, Jane Goldman, and Matthew Vaughn. The cast included: James McAvoy as Charles Xavier/Professor X, Michael Fassbender as Erik Lensherr/Magneto, Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Jennifer Lawrence as Raven Darkholme/Mystique, January Jones as Emma Frost, Nicholas Hoult as Dr. Henry "Hank" McCoy/Beast, Zoë Kravitz as Angel Salvadore, Caleb Landry Jones as Sean Cassidy/Banshee and Lucas Till as Alex Summers/Havok. It earned $353 million at the worldwide box office, on a budget of $150 million.

how does emma frost's bra turn into diamond too?

Everything wrong with it? How much time do we have?

For starters....

The First Class is Not Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, Iceman and Angel.

Havoc, Mystique, Darwin, and whatever Lenny Kravitz's daughter code name actually being in the First class.

Moria McTarget NOT being Irish and in the CIA? WTF?

Sebastian Shaw was a Nazi?

Emma being that old in the 1960s.

Charles taking in Mystique as a pet.

"Mutant and Proud!" (WRONG on so many levels)

Moira being the reason that Charles got paralyzed.

Why didn't young Magneto just kill shaw along with the Nazis that shot his mom?

So much more but I’m at work...

Ooook those offenses really weren't THAT bad
SauronsBANE - 5/13/2014, 10:53 AM
Pretty sure we should just not post any more articles for today. Everything's going to feel much less important/exciting after Batfleck's suit and Batmobile reveal haha.

I hated this movie. Terrible characters. Other than Magneto, Shaw, Azazel and Xavier, they're all entirely forgettable. January Jones was freaking TERRIBLE in this movie and I'm pretty sure they could have used the bad guys from 'Elektra' and it would have been an improvement on who they used. Riptide? Angel Salvadore? Give me a break!

And I cringe at Professor X's impression of Austin Powers at the bar.
RetroFit - 5/13/2014, 10:57 AM
I also hate their outfits. They look like they're walking around in life jackets. Terrible! And Mystique looks like terrible cosplay. Bad wig with unnatural colour, fake contacts, blue body paint and rubber bits glued to her. Just awful.
ChuckV - 5/13/2014, 10:57 AM
ABOUT TIME - First Class was overrated!!!
Shaman - 5/13/2014, 10:59 AM
If you remove Michael Fassbender from the film you'll get...

*Drum Roll*

Everything wrong with X-Men: First Class.
Berserker187 - 5/13/2014, 11:00 AM
This was way better than amazing Spiderman 2. Just saying.
Shaman - 5/13/2014, 11:04 AM
And yet it still sucked.

Which says a lot.
YoungThanos - 5/13/2014, 11:11 AM
How was the metal on the bed about to break "DIAMOND"?
Mrcool210 - 5/13/2014, 11:13 AM
oh look another video by these nit picky ass wipes?

michaeljames - 5/13/2014, 11:13 AM
I thought it was a solid 3/5... Xavier and Magneto casting was ideal and Jennifer Lawrence is incredible.
Nomis - 5/13/2014, 11:13 AM
Oh Yeah, BANSHEE not being Irish and in the "First Class".
SauronsBANE - 5/13/2014, 11:16 AM
I loved this movie. It probably wasn't the X-Men film many fans were looking for, but they completely nailed the characters: maybe not their comic-accurate powers or levels of importance or their suits or origins or whatever, but their relationships with each other, their character arcs, their general interactions, etc.

First Class was going to be an X-Men Origins: Magneto movie, then it was going to be a complete reboot, then they decided to tie it into the rest of the universe. With all that production trouble in mind, it was pretty unavoidable that it would feel a little disjointed. But the heart of the movie was Erik and Charles' friendship, and it was fantastic IMO.
ralfinader - 5/13/2014, 11:19 AM
Was not a fan of this movie, it was sloppy, alot.
Shaman - 5/13/2014, 11:24 AM
If you're gonna film the exact same sequence as the opening of the first X-Men film, yet make it worse in every possible way, why even spend the bucks on producing it in the first place when all you need to do is take the better cut from the first film and paste it in the new movie. And if Matthew Vaughn's answer to that is "artistic integrity", he needs a slap in the face.

Me being a big Bacon fan, i was expecting a Heath Ledgeresque performance and he ended up giving us Cesar Romero. Jones was so bad she made Emma from Origins look like an oscar winner having no lines. And that godawful mutant search montage was cringe inducing to the ninth degree. How are the 80ies filled to the brim with blueprints for perfect montages and Vaughn ends up puking all over the place and calling it filmworthy, i'll never know. I guess the opening sequence wasn't a fluke. Let's not forget the murder of the best mutant they had which technically shouldn't have died given his mutant power essentially boiling down to NOT DYING and all his canon fodder teammates that were just as well developped as the furniture they sat on in the mansion. And finally, Prof-X, Beast and Mystique were an absolute bore. But all that's okay because the movie was really just about the missile crisis all along.

Seriously, the greatest mystery of all is why Fassbender ever signed up to it in the first place. Fox sure can count its lucky stars, pun intended.
CherryBomb - 5/13/2014, 11:24 AM
hahah nearly cried about the "women sleeping with the first guy who thinks they look pretty without their make-up on"

supermarioworldE - 5/13/2014, 11:25 AM
"That's racist"

Shouldn't that be "sexist"?
DrDoom - 5/13/2014, 11:25 AM
I really don't get the love for First Class. I don't think it's terrible, just completely bland. It doesn't respect the mythology, all the villains are utterly terrible, and it features a lot of [frick]ed up characterization. A handful of good performances can't save it from all that.
Platinum - 5/13/2014, 11:29 AM
I really like this movie, something about it is so refreshing compared to most superhero movies. It's much better than that turd Sony would drop a year later.
Bloodraven - 5/13/2014, 11:30 AM
Still my favourite Marvel movie.
pointman - 5/13/2014, 11:36 AM
Preach it NOMIS
ChuckV - 5/13/2014, 11:39 AM
First Class doesn't respect the mythology??? It doesn't respect LOGIC!!! LOL
GeekyCheekyChic - 5/13/2014, 11:39 AM
And yet some people TRY to claim this movie is BETTER than X1 or X2.....hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha First Ass. Take out Fassbender and McAvoy and its the biggest hunk of shit ever
GeekyCheekyChic - 5/13/2014, 11:42 AM
Moira Mactaggert: FBI agent and Scientist who helps Charles with his transition into a new body after Phoenix decimates him.
FastFlames - 5/13/2014, 11:46 AM
Haha this guy is so hilarious!
McGee - 5/13/2014, 11:46 AM
What was wrong with this movie?

That we didn't see any titties.

Specifically Lawrence's or Jones' milk bobbles.

That's what was wrong n*gga.
Nomis - 5/13/2014, 11:49 AM
@ Pointman - Let them go on and report me.
Mastyrwerk - 5/13/2014, 11:51 AM
No X-Men movie is perfect. This one is just less perfect than others.

patrat18 - 5/13/2014, 11:59 AM
I loved this movie.
symbiotics - 5/13/2014, 12:06 PM
one big screwup was to mistake Bariloche for Villa Gesell! as someone from Argentina, Villa Gesell is a beach, it doesn't have mountains, but they didn't bother to do some basic research on that. At least we got a big laugh at the theater.
Fun1gUy - 5/13/2014, 12:22 PM
@supermarioworld LOL i think it was meant to be a gag, like HAHA, but yeah i thought the same too, LIKE wtf? how was that racist, LMAO
Humperdink - 5/13/2014, 12:22 PM
I know I'm going to catch hell for this but First Class was AWFUL!
The only good things about it were Bacon and Fassbender.

It had a bunch of disposable mutants and a weak narrative that was at times extremely goofy.

Emma was a BIG disappointment, and the 'First Class' were so poorly used. Darwin, Banshee Housefly and Havoc were extras. It was like they had no plans to use them again beyond that film so I'm surprised Havoc is back. It's not like we got to know anything about him.

I seriously think January got the role based on something other than talent.
Who was the baby-daddy, BTW?
dellamorte1872 - 5/13/2014, 12:23 PM
Some I def agreed with and kinda always said, the files are all conveniently there for MOIRA, or ANGEL and those plate glass windows but some you had to take with a grain of salt.......that is the one thing BEAST failed at and it was clearly hubris tho. And in THIS film it's bc of mystique am ping up his confidence, telling him how smart he is, he felt like maybe there wasn't anything he wasn't able to accomplish.
dellamorte1872 - 5/13/2014, 12:25 PM
But as I said the other two are classic confusion moments allow you could argue PROF X tinted the room from everyone else's view telepathically. But it was a bit brazen, not like she knew he could do specifically THAT just that he wanted to see
dellamorte1872 - 5/13/2014, 12:31 PM
Darwin I felt like could have benefitted from a post credit scene he's alive in the grass. His energy be awesome if they revealed that at least bc that's the essence of Darwin he is UNKILLABLE
dellamorte1872 - 5/13/2014, 12:32 PM
His bio-whatever just seemed into the soil and yard itself it'd be fitting since we are all forms of energy anyway
LEEE777 - 5/13/2014, 12:33 PM
Yeah, MAGNETO was awesome... that's why they should have made a MAGNETO ORIGINS movie what they planned, oh well, movie wasn't bad just a bad X-Men movie comic-wise unfortunately...
