Honestly I like it. Its not what we'd expect. Would I like there to be no tattoos? Yes of course. But we're getting a great actor playing him which should be enough anyways. And plus we have all the rumours that the tattoos were only part of the 75th anniversary. Complaining isn't going to change anything. Just be happy guys. Its not like Ledger looked like Joker from the comics either.
maxx - 4/25/2015, 10:59 AM
The Joker looks like he works at Hot Topic...end of discussion.
Bullfrog - 4/25/2015, 11:00 AM
Not perfect but I trust the actor.
BurningBeard - 4/25/2015, 11:09 AM
I dig it! it also depends on how the character is portrayed.
MrShow - 4/25/2015, 11:09 AM
Hipster Joker
Titanace - 4/25/2015, 11:11 AM
Mmmmmmm, just no.
TheGoddamnPeel - 4/25/2015, 11:18 AM

The article has been written well with a lot of thought.
A lot of thought was put into the tattoos.

But c'mon. You can make Aquaman look cooler and scarier with tattoos, but that doesn't work with Joker. Hell, you shouldn't have to even do that with Joker, he should be fine the way he is.

Y'know what would've been dope? If they had done Death of the family Joker with his face chopped off. If they just used the new 52 version of the character, it'd be amazing.
Negan - 4/25/2015, 11:38 AM
That's right thumbs up.
Sortis - 4/25/2015, 11:48 AM
I see a lot of fans defending the look based on the actor, and in the words of Rorschach "Never compromise.". I'm sorry, but I cannot. I'm just too passionate about the character...
SigmaCenturion - 4/25/2015, 11:59 AM
Blind loyalty...

I'm not going to accept this shit. Waited so long for WB to actually do this and I'm not going to compromise for the inferior version.
Mastyrwerk - 4/25/2015, 12:07 PM
Love it! I hope the next version after this is different as well.

The Joker should have no consistency between films.
Xvid - 4/25/2015, 12:10 PM
This looks awesome!
cyns - 4/25/2015, 12:27 PM
I think it looks pretty creepy and will likely be more so when the movie comes out. Leto is a brilliant actor and I think he'll be as good as Ledger was with his take on the character. Leto will bring his own unique talent to the role, IMO.

Can't wait.
GodzillaKart - 4/25/2015, 12:42 PM
I'm withholding final judgement until I actually see it in the film...but based solely on this, they turned Joker into a bitch.
comicbookjerk - 4/25/2015, 1:01 PM
78 people so far are stupid.
TheDarkwolf - 4/25/2015, 1:11 PM
if an article I read yesterday is what I think it meant the are going to start representing Joker as the God of Comedy or something like that, so that is kinda going to fit I suppose meaning to be that like is the comedy and Joker comes in to represent the tragedy side
SAMURAI36 - 4/25/2015, 1:11 PM
LOL @ the person who said "78 people are stupid". Instant block.

I continue to say, it's that level of intolerance & immaturity, that keeps the comic book fan base from growing.
SigmaCenturion - 4/25/2015, 1:19 PM
85 people are stupid.
MutantWarrior - 4/25/2015, 1:41 PM
fanboys, the shit of the earth. Y'all know dam well you are going to buy the tickets and be there on line waiting to see the movie. Idk why come here and write that the character suck if the movie isn't even out yet. I noticed that people rather see a 100% costume accurate character with bad acting, than a 50% accurate character costume with great acting....
Handsomelygeek - 4/25/2015, 1:52 PM
If you want comic book villains and superhero costumes go watch the Green Lantern, Affleck's Daredevil, Elektra and the Fantastic Four 1 and 2. Oh wait you won't because those movies are terrible. The costumes alone did not make those movies terrible and huge box office flops. But the lack of originally in the stories and characters did. The costumes did play a part in the character development and viewers connection with them. But more so how the film makers took the comic stories too literally for live action cinema.

Originally is desperately needed in the film industry. I see a very strong similarity to the options of this community and how Sony is just remaking every successfully movie they had in the 80s. They both lack imagination. WB animation takes their comic book characters and stories literally. They are as close as you'll get to a cinematic version of the comics.

Marvel's box office success was built on being original with their characters. If you were a true comic book fan, you'd be shitting all over Marvel films like Age of Ultron for changing Ultron's origin, Iron Man and most recently GoTG for Peter Quills origin story. But no, you embraced their originally and stories to help Marvel build their incredible universe.

Embrace change.
monsterswin - 4/25/2015, 2:05 PM

There's good change and there is bad change. To simply "embrace change" for the sake of it? No thanks. Marvel HAS been quite faithful with their stuff. "Most" of the changes (not all but many I should say) have not been so out of whack that it comes across as silly, grasping for it's younger audience or just simply stupid. This desperate attempt to stay "relevant" is nothing all that inspiring that's for sure.
DrChimRichalds - 4/25/2015, 2:13 PM
it looks...just...not good.

DarthBob - 4/25/2015, 2:24 PM
The Joker went full retard, you never go full retard.
avengersleagueofjusticeforamerica - 4/25/2015, 2:29 PM
Face it..... Macklemore's thrift shop joker is shit
avengersleagueofjusticeforamerica - 4/25/2015, 2:32 PM
Jokers "damaged" nature should be in his character and mannerisms. Not written on his face.
BatSlam - 4/25/2015, 2:39 PM
first let me say, I have lots of tattoo's , 2 sleeves, finger, and one leg, with more to come... that being said, i am not a fan of most of this. All the "art work" tattoo's means that the joker went to a guy, said "this is what i want, this is where i want it" then sat in a chair and let a tattoo artist work on him. That image just doesn't seem right to me. the hahahaha's i can kinda dig because i can see the joker doing that one to himself. The bird, if it is a robin i can dig because it is a trophy to the way you hurt your best friend and greatest enemy. the smile on the hand I can see working in a cool way so i will let that one slide. Though the joker seems chaotic, there isn't much he does that doesn't have some sort of deranged and horrible purpose behind it. Tattoo's tell a story and if we dont get to see that story then to me they are just noise, things there for the sake of saying, look at use, this is different from what other people did. That should be in the portrayal which i still have faith in with Leto. THough the worst tattoo is the damaged on the forehead, just dumb.
3Traced - 4/25/2015, 2:47 PM
You guys are crazy. This embodies the joker and looks badass.
scapegoatjones - 4/25/2015, 3:10 PM
gotham buyers club panic at the disco joker
Nomis1800 - 4/25/2015, 4:02 PM
I love this look of the Joker! I think Leto is going to give a terrifying performance!
Stick - 4/25/2015, 4:41 PM
Good thing I'm a fan of DC comics and not the movies
SuperPickle - 4/25/2015, 5:17 PM
[frick] the haters. I like it. If you don't, then I guess you won't be seeing it. Fine. Don't want to hear the whining in the theater.
thebearjew - 4/25/2015, 5:28 PM
this is absolute garbage
DarkeyeZ - 4/25/2015, 5:36 PM
it is Garbage. though, seeing Batman beat up Justin Beiber is something I wouldn't mind seeing...hmmmm
Arkhamite - 4/25/2015, 7:25 PM
That gif with Jared leto joker in a white suit told me all i need 2 know. Dis gon be the greatest cinematic joker of alltime (no disrespect to ledger).just the way he laughs makes me want to laugh.
ThaJackaL - 4/25/2015, 7:44 PM
The last hope I had for this garbage of a franchise the DC/WB is putting on the big screen was Jared as Joker, and this picture is real close to killing all hope for this franchise. I'll reserve final judgement for the trailer I guess but I've lost almost all my interest in this franchise. Including the Man of Steel, and BvS sequel.
lawndart - 4/26/2015, 1:10 AM
They turned the clown prince into a hipster. FML...we're just circling the drain....
