As the returning star Huge Jackman tweeted hours ago, filming for his anticipated reprisal in the X-Men: Origins sequel, The Wolverine, has begun in Kurnell of New South Wales, Australia. And local 7News station has featured a birds-eye view of action underway in their coverage of principal photography's commencement.








Starring Hugh Jackman, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tao Okamoto, Rila [frick]ushima, Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee and Svetlana Khodchenkova, directed by James Mangold, The Wolverine is scheduled to be released on July 26, 2013.

Its finally official. Its happening. Anyone have any guesses of what story a japanese POW camp might be from? Or did they just make that up.

I don't really want to support 20th Century Fox's X-Men adaptations — I really didn't like any of their previous attempts. But this film actually sounds promising.

ok cool, so it sounds as if they are going to use the limited series "logan" for the POW scene. cool, thats what i was thinking. I really liked that story too.

I just hope Jackman bulked up for this one. He's a big guy but his height makes him look like Clint Eastwood as Wolverine.

glad it's started filming, and i think we deserve a Deadpool cameo. The real Deadpool not that god awful abomination from origins. A Liev schreiber sabretooth cameo would be sweet too.

I hope he bulked up and also learned how to hunch over to make himself look a little shorter. A truly good movie would be rated R but since they maid him such a pop corn film character with the X-Men movies it won't be R rated. Silver Samurai on the other hand should have the original costume can't wait to see that concept art.

I could see him having a samurai style wolverine mask similar to the comic but that's about all I could hope for. Would by nice to have the brown and yellow I grew up on. I'd love it if they did "Days of Future Past" and were able to have home and some other cast from both series merge for the alternate timeline.

I had all intentions of abandoning this site since TDKR has been released; that movie was the only reason I came here . But Wolverine is the only other CB character outside of Batman that I actually care about. I had no clue they were even making this movie. I'm pumped, Wolverine is a badass. What would you guys say is the best Wolverine story out there?

It's not in the proper dictionary. The Oxford English Dictionary. I'll bet that twaddle you linked is the type of dictionary that spells colour without a 'u' or lists it as some odd little Engish quirk, "ho ho, bless them and their odd ways of using their own language".

Also, saying you are doing something or not is not expressing an emotion or opinion. I'm sure I'll be going for a shit later on, but it's not a state of mind. Equally, you wouldn't just pop my head into a restaurant, declare that I'll be going for said shit, turn heel and piss off. People would think you were a bit soft in the head.

@BestInTheWorld - I don't know about the best, that's rather subjective.

But some of my personal favourite Wolverine 'featured' stories include The Dark Phoenix Saga, Larry Hama & Mark Silvestri's Wolverine run from the early 90's, Morrison's New X-Men, Mark Millar's Enemy Of The State and the two stories that this movie is based upon, The Wolverine mini by Claremont and Frank Millar & Uncanny X-Men 172-173.

People always swear by Old Man Logan but I've not read it yet.

And there is always the holy grail, Weapon X by Barry Windsor Smith.
