FAST & FURIOUS 9 Star Vin Diesel Confirms The Return Of Charlize Theron And Helen Mirren

After making their big debut in 2017's The Fate of the Furious, Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren will reprise their respective roles as Cipher and Magdalene Shaw in Fast & Furious 9. More past the jump.

The lucrative franchise is currently focused on Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham's upcoming spinoff Hobbs & Shaw, but next year fans will see Dominic Toretto and his family return for yet another high-speed adventure.

And thanks to a recent Instagram post from star Vin Diesel, we now know that Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren, who made their debut in 2017’s The Fate of the Furious, will also return to reprise their roles as Cipher and Magdalene Shaw.

There are currently no details on how the two will factor into the plot of Fast & Furious 9, but after dividing the Toretto family in the previous film, it's hard to imagine that Theron’s Cipher will be anything but a source of trouble for the team.

Fast & Furious 9 is scheduled to race into theaters on May 22, 2020 and will see John Cena join the franchise in a mysterious role.

@MexCowboyNation - The first is basically Point Break with cars. Its enjoyable.
Then it all gets a bit pedestrian until 5. From 5 onwards its absolute logic defying lunacy in a good way (for me anyway).

Without Dwayne, I don't know how well this will work. Vin Diesel really isn't a good leading man, and F&F8 was pretty damn bad. Without Walker to balance out, Dom Torretto is a boring plank of wood. Hobbs & Shaw should be the future of this franchise if this next one turns out like F8.
