With season three having just wrapped, Amazon Prime Video has officially issued an early season four renewal for Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, which stars John Krasinski (A Quiet PlaceThe Office) in the title role.

In addition to that welcome news, the streamer has also announced that fan-favorite Michael Peña (Ant-Man; Ant-Man and the Wasp) has joined the cast in an undisclosed series regular role.

As for the aforementioned third season, a premiere date is expected to be announced relatively soon, but it's unclear whether it will debut before the end of this year or early next. The official season three synopsis reads,

Jack is wrongly implicated in a larger conspiracy and suddenly finds himself a fugitive out in the cold. Now, wanted by both the CIA and an international rogue faction that he has uncovered, Jack is forced underground, crisscrossing Europe, trying to stay alive and prevent a massive global conflict."

Along with Krasinski, Wendell Pierce (The WireSuits) and Michael Kelly (Man of SteelHouse of Cards) are also set to return as James Greer and Mike November, respectively.

Newcomers include Betty Gabriel (Get Out; Westworld), James Cosmo (His Dark MaterialsBraveheart), Peter Guinness (Zack Snyder's Justice LeagueAlien3), Nina Hoss (Little Sister; A Most Wanted Man), and Alexej Manvelov (ChernobylBefore We Die).

Season 2 wasn't as good as the first one. Hope third is good.

@RageDriver2401 - Off the top of my head, I can't even remember what season 2 was about.

Season 2 became a bore and was missing the energy of season one. Still solid tv though.

Enjoyed the first season, not as much the second.

I'm more looking forward to Mrs. Maisel season 4

I like the underlying material enough to continue to give this series a chance.

Would be nice to see some cross over w/ MBJ’s character. Both are on Amazon.

‘fan-favorite Michael Peña (Ant-Man; Ant-Man and the Wasp)’ He’s certainly not my favourite, in fact his character typifies exactly what is wrong with the MCU being a added character with the door purpose to inject childish annoying humour into a storyline that wouldn’t otherwise have it. I really hope he’s not going to play the clown in this too.

Just saw Hunt for Red October for the first time like 2 nights ago, haha, really solid film. Kind of crazy how many big name actors have played Ryan over the years

Season 2 any good? I found the first painfully average and generic.

Kind of wish they’d make a period piece and actually adapt the novels.

I enjoyed both seasons equally, so I'm glad we're getting another two (and more Michael Pena). Do hope they expand some more into Tom Clancy lore though.

And with Amazon owning MGM now, I do kinda wanna see the 007 franchise cross over with the Jack Ryan franchise. After having seen No Time To Die, I really want a show with Nomi
