In what might just be a dream pairing for action movie fans, both Mission: Impossible - Fallout star Tom Cruise and Black Adam lead Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson have expressed a desire to work together.

Dwayne Johnson and Tom Cruise are two of the biggest action stars on the planet and while most of their box office success comes from overseas rather than domestically, a team-up between these two would undoubtedly be a must-watch. There are many forms that could take regardless of whether it's a future Mission: Impossible movie or even an instalment of Fast & Furious spinoff, Hobbs & Shaw

During a recent interview to promote Fallout, Cruise said that he would definitely be open to the possibility of working with The Rock somewhere down the line and the former WWE Superstar wasted no time in taking to Twitter to make it clear that he would love to work alongside the action icon.

Whether or not it will actually happen is another matter, of course, but there's a lot these two could do together. Then again, they seem to be doing just fine by themselves and Cruise, in particular, seems to be turning things around with not only the Mission: Impossible franchise but also by bringing back Top Gun. Random question to ask Cruise at any rate, but yeah it would be awesome to see them do something together. Something original though.

Please keep Johnson away from the M:I franchise, thanks!

“Fun.”

No seriously, I would buy tickets in a heartbeat if both of them filmed a movie together.

Just not a Mission: Impossible movie. They don’t need 15cc of a Rock infusion in this franchise, like they did in Fast Five.

What happens when 2 men with GIANT ego both of whom happened to be control freaks behind the scenes of almost every aspect of the project they are working on meet together?

@TheOtherOn - Is Dwayne Johnson a control freak forreal? Like he's difficult to work with?

They need to do a Charlie's Angels type movie, but with Cruise, Johnson and, urm, Will Smith. Maybe get Meryl Streep as their Charlie. Versus a villainous Bryan Cranston/RDJ team-up, Cranston being the Bosley, but also a traitor.

Ghost projects don't count.
