Mission: Impossible - Fallout has been hailed as one of the greatest, if not, the greatest action movie of all-time and it's off to a roaring start at both the domestic and international box offices.

Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible - Fallout is already a major success with both critics and fans alike, currently boasting an unbelievable 98% Certified Fresh rating on review aggregator RottenTomatoes and an outstanding 95% approval rating from U.S. audiences. 

Fallout got off to an excellent start yesterday, collecting over $6 million from Thursday night previews and is already pacing ahead of Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, which brought in $4 million from its preview night in 2015 and ultimately finished the weekend with $55.5 million. It's also tracking ahead of Universal's Jason Bourne, which brought in $4.23 million from previews and finished the weekend with $59.2 million in 2016. 

While Paramount was initially projecting a solid $50 million opening, it looks like the Chris McQuarrie-directed action blockbuster is going to easily top those initial expectations with an opening in the $55 million to $60 million range, which would be a franchise-best for the long-running series. BoxOfficeMojo is even more bullish on the film and are forecasting a launch closer to $65 million, potentially nearing $75 million by the end of business on Sunday if the film continues to exceed expectations.

Worldwide, Fallout is eyeing a franchise-record breaking debut with an over $135 million launch. It's expected to score approximately $75 million to $80 million from 36 international markets, including the United Kingdom, India, Russia, Spain, Latin America, and more. If the projections hold, it will become the biggest opening weekend ever for a Mission: Impossible film, topping the $131.5 million debut for Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol in 2011.

As for China, where Cruise reigns supreme amongst Hollywood stars, Paramount has secured an August 31st release date for the latest chapter in Ethan Hunt's story.

As it stands, if the film's opening manages to top $57.8 million, which seems very doable, it will surpass Mission: Impossible II to become the biggest opener in the long-running franchise. Additionally, if it can top the $64.8 million opening of War of the Worlds, then it will also be the highest opener in Tom Cruise's storied career, which would be insanely awesome.

The best intentions often come back to haunt you. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT finds Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team (Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames) along with some familiar allies (Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan) in a race against time after a mission gone wrong. A box office opening that is Well deserved. The stunt work, and fight choreography was just as big of a star as the main star himself.

Saw it today I give it 4 Stars out of 5 Stars. Little long and it's NOT non-stop action but over all the movie is good. One viewing will do.

This movie was f**kng awesome man!

It has a bit of everything, action was crazy, well done drama, humor and some quite emotional moments, with beautiful cinematography and some damn f**kng good score soundtrack. The acting was great as well, the story was full of suspense and thrills, the direction, so good so freaking good.

I love how they've evolved the character of Ethan Hunt, how his ongoing trauma with his choices haunted him and never stopped affecting his life, yet by the end of the film finding that peace of soul and mind he needed so much.

Cavill and his moustache were a BEAST, bruh he nailed it love him in the movie specially moving forward to the third act, he was great, a HAMMER indeed. I seriously liked the movie and as my first MI movie at theaters, it was total and completely worth it what a an amazing experience, i have a minor niptick but is kinda of a spoiler so i'll wait for the right moment to say it. Everything else was awesome.

That helicopter chase man, and that HALO jump!

@CaptCoulson - I'm gonna be honest i just watched trailer #1 and that was it for me, BUT when SPOILERS and twists happen hoo boy was i surprised, shocked and teary eye at the same time lol. You're in for some good stuff man, hope you can watch it as soon as possible. is totally worth the price and experience, that HALO jump man, jeezus!

I reccomend watching the earlier movies before going into Fallout.

@TheOtherOn - I'm not that fond with Imagine Dragons but they really surprised me with that track, is reall good.

these two are a couple of my favorite tracks from the score by Lorne Balfe.

I love how this one flows so well with the scene

Another great movie in an increasingly great franchise. I said this earlier but I don’t know how anyone could think that a movie like this with Black Widow as the lead couldn’t be incredible.

Absolutely fantastic news and well deserved! Best Mission Impossible film by far...Heavy on franchise lore and would actually work well as a final movie in the series if they opted for that...As much of a success as its turning out to be I’m sure they’ll get another one started immediately...I keep saying this but I’m not sure how they’ll top what this one did in the next film, just keep upping the bar...

Also Henry Cavill for Bond...Needs to happen after Craig bows out...

@Vegetaray123 - I remember reading back in the day he was one of the guys who auditioned for the new Bruce in Batman Begins, and obviously didn't get it. I don't know, he almost seems sort of TOO on the nose for James Bond.

Movie was pretty damn good. A lot more like Rogue Nation than I was expecting (which shouldn't have been a surprise), and some of the character moments with Hunt felt a bit off to me; not out of place but just quirky or particularly scripted dialogue. But the action is crazy, and the 3rd act/climax helicopter chase is absolutely f*cking incredible! The footage they got on that is mind-blowing. And when one of the best moments in your movie is just Tom Cruise running (surprise surprise), you've got a winner.

I honestly can't comprehend how a Mission Impossible movie can't clear a good $100M *domestically* on its opening weekend at this point. When the biggest Marvel movies can do $150/175/200+, this does not seem unreasonable to me. This is arguably the best ongoing film franchise today (don't really count the MCU in the same "franchise" way), I mean even people who like the Fast & Furious movies (you couldn't pay me to watch them) have to be able to admit they're frivolous, dumb fun action movies at best. This is a Tom Cruise, adult themed franchise that has almost always only gotten better with each sequel.

and ESPECIALLY with the incredible buzz this one has. I mean, you could argue that if there's already a good chance another quality one can be made after this, then why the [frick] should I be caring how much money it gets... still, it kinda baffles me.

@BoyWonder - well but even taking that to heart, the franchise has gotten the best its ever been in terms of embracing the true TEAM aspect of what the original property was. I mean as much as I still like the first movie, it was "Tom Cruise, plus a couple of these other people". But just as in the underrated TV series, everyone plays an integral part now.

@CaptCoulson - Big part of that is a lot of people don't like Tom Cruise and refuse to see his movies even if there good. That Scientology life style and past comments and behavior really turned a lot of people off.
