AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM & All The Movies Slated To Air Super Bowl TV Spots

A new report has revealed which studios we can expect to have a presence during the Super Bowl and which movies they're expected to promote, including Avengers: Infinity War! Come check it out!

On February 4th, Tom Brady and the 5x World Champion New England Patriots battle Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles for a shot at NFL immortality in Super Bowl LII, and while many - including yours truly - will undoubtedly be fully immersed in the biggest game of the year, the more casual viewer will likely be more excited about the commercials and it sounds like the major studios have quite the slate lined up for us this year.

According to a new report from Deadline, studios are spending around $5 million on average for a 30-second spot this year and with that hefty sum, are expected to showcase at least eight major upcoming blockbusters, including Avengers: Infinity War, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Mission: Impossible - Fallout. Take a look at everything you can expect below:

Avengers: Infinity War

According to Deadline's report, Disney will definitely have a presence during the Super Bowl as they've booked airtime for a 30-second and a 45-second spot, but it remains uncertain which trailers they're planning to run. However, considering that the studio has chosen to promote their May Marvel releases, Captain America: Civil War and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, during the past two Big Games, it's probably a safe bet that Infinity War will take top priority from the studio this year.

Mission: Impossible - Fallout

While we've already seen trailers for almost all of the other releases, Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible - Fallout remains a complete mystery, which makes its trailer arguably the biggest of the night as we get our first look at the biggest action movie of the year.

Paramount has booked two 30-second spots, one that is scheduled to air during the Pre-game show and another that will air during the game's last half hour. We can't tell you which one is which, but one of them is for Mission: Impossible - Fallout and will include a link to the film's official website where fans can enjoy the full-length teaser trailer.

Black Panther

With the first superhero movie of the year hitting theaters next month, Disney does have a presence planned for Marvel's Black Panther, but it may be lacking in terms of new footage from the upcoming Ryan Coogler-directed film. According to the report, Chadwick Boseman will appear as T'Challa in a series of cross-promotion ads for Lexus, one of which you can view above, to promote the release of his upcoming film and the Lexus LS 500 F SPORT.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

With Universal's sister network NBC airing the Super Bowl this year, expect J.A. Bayona's highly-anticipated Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom to have a very big presence throughout the night as the film is expected to air multiple spots. Fallen Kingdom also has the potential to become the biggest winner of the night if it performs similarly to Universal's Fate of the Furious, which collected over 42.2 million views in one day last year.

A Quiet Place

As you read above, Paramount has booked two 30-second spots and with Mission: Impossible - Fallout claiming one of them, the second is expected to be for John Krasinski's horror/thriller A Quiet Place, which stars his wife Emily Blunt in the lead role. While unconfirmed, it's likely this will be the Paramount spot that airs during the pre-game show.

God Particle (Untitled Cloverfield Sequel)

Well, it sounds like Netflix may have completed their acquisition of the Untitled Cloverfield Sequel as Deadline is reporting that the streaming service may actually be planning to debut the first trailer for the tentatively titled God Particle during the Super Bowl. Both Netflix and Paramount declined to comment on the story, but it appears as though they would rather wait until February 4th to make it official.

Skyscraper

After the roaring success of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, The Rock is back with another action extravaganza in Universal's Skyscraper, which is due out in theaters on July 13. And, just like Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom before it, Universal will also be airing multiple spots for this film. It's unclear if we'll get a full-length trailer though.

Super Bowl Hopefuls...

While each of the above has more or less been confirmed to receive airtime, the status of the following remains very much up in the air.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

Will Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm debut their first look at Solo: A Star Wars Story, which hits theaters in May, during the biggest game of the year? We really can't say with any certainty, but if one of Disney's two spots is for Avengers: Infinity War, then the other could very well be for the Han Solo spin-off. Time is ticking down and February 4th would be as good a time as any to kickstart the marketing campaign.

UPDATE: This has been CONFIRMED

Incredibles 2

If the second Disney spot doesn't turn out to be for Solo: A Star Wars Story, then Incredibles 2 would be a good consolation prize as we haven't seen much from the summer release, save for a brief teaser a few weeks back.

A Wrinkle in Time

If neither Solo: A Star Wars Story or Incredibles 2 lands that coveted second Disney spot, which seems unlikely, then A Wrinkle In Time is probably our safest best as it hits theaters in March and features an all-star cast that includes Oprah, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, and Chris Pine.

Ant-Man and the Wasp

Deadline notes that this is probably a longshot at best, but we can't rule it out just yet either. With Black Panther opening in less than three weeks, we do know that a trailer is probably just around the corner, so why not debut a first look TV spot during the Super Bowl before releasing the full teaser trailer online afterward?

No Shows

These are the three studios you shouldn't expect anything from this year.

Warner Bros.

This should come as no surprise, but Warner Bros. is once again sitting out the Super Bowl, meaning don't expect to see anything new from Ready Player One, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, or Aquaman on Super Bowl Sunday.

Sony Pictures

Sony Pictures is also curiously staying on the sidelines this year, so it'll probably be a little longer before we get our first trailer for Venom or anything new from Sicario 2: Soldado and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

20th Century Fox

After going big with Logan and A Cure for Wellness last year, 20th Century Fox has chosen to lay low this year, despite a promising upcoming slate that includes the eagerly-awaited Deadpool 2, Alita: Battle Angel, The Predator, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix. While purely coincidental, it's hard not to wonder whether or not the status of their upcoming merger with Walt Disney Studios had anything to do with their decision-making.

UPDATE: 20th Century Fox has confirmed they will air a spot for Jennifer Lawrence's Red Sparrow.

They showed a Civil War spot as the "second trailer" last year, it was about 45 seconds. So instead of Marvel releasing a ridiculous amount of new footage, their second trailer will be significantly less spoiler-y, which I like. So, for me, I think IW is more likely than Panther. Panther doesn't really need the push, it's outselling Civil War and it's 2 weeks out from the super bowl, it would kind of feel like a waste. In fact, we're about 5 months away from Ant-Man and The Wasp, yet we've seen nothing; maybe they'll release a spot for it with a full trailer online right after?

The Russos always have the coolest Super Bowl spots. If their team can put something together like those again, combined with the first Avengers SB spot (still my favorite to this day)...

Disney's two spots will be for Infinity War and Solo: A Star Wars Story, the latter especially because evidence has come out hinting at that, according to Jeremy Conrad (a.k.a. It'd be fun if Disney decided to just straight up release no footage of Solo whatsoever. That'd probably be one of the only ways to actually make me interested in watching the movie in the theater.
