Though we still don't have confirmation that Warner Bros. has decided to scrap the Flashpoint movie and move forward with a more traditional solo outing for the Scarlet Speedster, that seems to be the general consensus in the blogosphere; and now, we may have some idea why those plans changed.

It's believed that Flashpoint was being looked at as an opportunity to "reset" the DCEU (or whatever you want to call it) after the massive backlash to the likes of Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad, and that the decision to steer away from this is a direct result of Walter Hamada taking control of DC Entertainment.

Apparently, the new man in charge is not interesting is retconning anything and wants to forge ahead, and that might just mean we've seen the last of Ben Affleck in the cape 'n cowl.

Flashpoint would most likely have been set up to allow the actor to transition out of the role, but Revenge of The Fans has now heard that the decision to ditch that storyline goes "hand-in-hand with the end of Affleck’s tenure as Batman."

We'll obviously be taking this with the usual grain of salt until we hear something official (we've been waiting on that for a very long time), but in the mantime, be sure to share your thoughts on the rumor in the usual place.
