Then don't read them... I think it's more than admirable that they offer their condolences for this terrible tragedy.

Just because you have gotten bored of reading so many does not mean the individual people issuing the statements do not feel sorry.

People are not 'hung up' on them. The cast of this movie obviously feels a need to offer their condolences to the victims families... If u guys are sick of it then don't click the article. Otherwise let them make a kind gesture without adding your sickening negativity

I have heard that some in the media are blaming Batman for this, one comic they have highlighted is the Dark Knight Returns, in which a man opens fire in a packed cinema. But if they are looking for someone to blame have they seen the movie Rampage? A guy puts together a bullet proof suit and goes on a shooting spree in his home town.

Statements are given in police reports, and trials. Rephrase this to "actor gives generic condolences to community even though we already know actor would feel this way if they were human ergo these statements from all the actors and director involved are falsefully portrayed as condolences."


Seriously, do I have to hold a press conference for the world to show them I like skittles? I dont think so ^_^ Im not retracting from the victims, im just saying this is all crap the execs at warner bros are doing to further promote the movie since they cancelled all tv spots. No need. Having the shooting being covered by every big news company and having it on every front page oughta do the trick. I wish i was in aurora on that night at that movie theater, and had a concealed carry. I would have went thru the emergency exit like he entered, snuck up behind him and put a double tap to his dome. But im stuck in ohio :(

@DaddyTuesday yeah, the thing is i actually saw that movie like two days before the shooting happened. I went to the midnight showing of TDKR before the news hit and i found out about the tragedy right after we left the theater. I had the most awful feeling of sadness...

@StormLogan: don't pretend like you know those people better than any of us. We have to judge people by their actions and whether they reflect their words. in this case WB has even gone as far as to think about pulling the film, which would mean a huuge financial loss for them. It is not in their interest to do that but they still considered it. So tell me, what motivation could lie behind that if not real concern about the people dying? As for the actors, they're human beings too and just because they're richer than you does not mean they cannot feel empathy. it's always difficult to express what one wants to say in a situation like this.

@StormLogan You seem to be under the impression that all celebrities are heartless souls who hide behind their fame. That isn't the case however.

lol, before i read this i just guessed what she would say. I guessed the word "senseless" would be in there and i was right. I also guessed the "thoughts and prayers" thing. Everyone says that. It just seems no one's allowed to "state" anything. Just get your publicist to follow the formula. Lame.

@StormLogan while the absurdity of that comment has been taken a notch down by the above comments, there is a very existential point to all of this. That the comments can't actually vary much in style. No one will express themselves in a way that shows certainty and direction in the wake of such a horrific incident, and for good reason. However, the case of absurdity would uphold if more people weren't speaking out in such a manner, who are not attached to The Dark Knight Rises. In order for that to be maintained, every involved individual would be required to comment on the matter. And even then, as their contracts have probably expired, no one has any ties to the longevity of the film. If they didn't care, they wouldn't feel some obligation to show it.

@Bobevanz The only way the world would care about whether you liked skittles or not would be if there was any sense of sensationalism brought on by the media in regard to the preference. The media turns its spotlights on something and people start to act accordingly, and quite possibly over-accordingly. You must understand the complex state the studio is suspended in right now, and all of its assets. But in order to do that you would first have to understand the trajectory of media sensational approach, which you clearly neglect to demonstrate.

As for your comment on your desire to personally handle the job yourself, might I ask you, how would you propose killing a man before he killed anyone at all? Every aspect of this statement disturbs me in that I don't believe you are the only one who has considered such a thing. So I commend you on being able to speak clearly on the subject. However, it is quite foolish of you or anyone to believe personal concealed (or not) firearms helps solve the situation. You'd be taking someone's life. And as you would be charged with murder for "stopping a murderer," is a lifetime sentence really worth saving those people's lives when they would never know what you might have done for them? Trick question, being charged with murder or just murdering someone in general, is never an okay thing. Point being, I hope you never aspire to own a concealed carry, and if for some reason you are compelled to do so, I hope your rationality alters and redirects those motives.

@PuyGuy It's the internet, so feel free to post whatever filler comment you'd like. No one can trace it back to you. But I wonder if you, or anyone else who makes such comments with the same lack of respect and thought would still proclaim what they post if they were publicly outed. Or better yet, just step up and tell people how it is in real life. This isn't some challenge to rise to the occasion. It's simply asking you to think about the impact what you say has on the world around you.

And as for you and people like you who continually comment on threads with meaningless interjections, imagine a role reversal where you may be posting the story of the death of your loved ones, or something less extreme, you posting an idea of your own. And people come along and put comments like, "this is shit," "I don't agree," "you suck at writing," etc. It's clear this kind of thing is no where helpful or respectful. In order to establish both, all one has to do is answer this question after voicing their opinion, "why?" Why do we think the way we think? Why do we feel things should be different? More relatively, why do you feel these statements are all the same boring thing and they need to stfu? I caution you and everyone else contemplating the effectiveness of a post, because even in the best case scenario where you explain why, it will be evaluated, assessed, and justified by people like me. And you never know where people like me could be...
