2020 was far from a normal year for movies and TV shows. Many huge releases ended up being delayed, while others were forced to halt production and have only recently resumed work. There was still a lot of great content to enjoy, though, and those were recognised at the Critics Choice Awards last night.

Taking place remotely with COVID-safe protocols in place, the event saw The Boys walk away with the most wins. Soul wasn't too far behind, while Netflix's The Old Guard was named the year's best superhero movie (despite Margot Robbie and Ewan McGregor nabbing two acting awards for Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)).

There's no denying that this list of winners would have looked a lot different had 2020 not been hit by a pandemic, but there are still a lot of very deserving winners here.

The one that really jumps out is Jensen Ackles, who picked up an award for "Best Actor In A Horror Series." It's great to see him receive some recognition for his work as Dean Winchester in Supernatural, and with a lead role in The Boys in the works, it feels like he's about to hit the big time.
