Though no official announcement has been made, Instagram posts from some crew members who worked on the movie would seem to confirm that principal photography has now wrapped on Nia DaCosta's The Marvels.

It looks like principal photography has now wrapped on The Marvels.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania director Peyton Reed recently took to Twitter to confirm that he'd finished filming his Marvel Studios threequel, and while we haven't had official word from The Marvels helmer Nia DaCosta, two crew members who worked on the movie shared the following to their Insta stories earlier today.

Check out the screenshots below via the BLBR fan-account.

It's somewhat surprising that a major superhero blockbuster was able to finish-up a 160-day shoot without so much as a single photo leak from the set, but here we are! Hopefully, DaCosta will share a follow-up post confirming the news, and maybe even an official behind-the-scenes snap to go with it.

Plot details for the Captain Marvel sequel are still under wraps (you can check out a vague logline here), but we do know that Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani will make her big-screen debut as Kamala Khan, and WandaVision's Teyonah Parris will reprise the role of Monica Rambeau. British actress Zawe Ashton (Fresh Meat, Velvet Buzzsaw) is also on board as the main villain, who is rumored to be a gender-swapped take on Kree warrior Ael-Dan.

In addition, Samuel L. Jackson recently confirmed that he will appear as Nick Fury.

DaCosta will direct from a script by WandaVision writer Megan McDonnell. The Marvels is set to fly into theaters on February 17, 2023.

Hope it’s better than the first. Glad the OG directors were fired.

@TopBoy - If you didn't like the first one blame Feige and the writers. They had much more say than the director. And fwiw I liked the first one.

@WruceBayne - Same. More Phase 4 filler. I’m hanging back waiting for Phase 5.

I've only seen the first movie twice, once at cinema and once on Blu-Ray.

And I don't think I will watch this movie ever again.

All I ask for in this sequel is some legit fight scenes. What they did for Captain Marvel in What If is what I have been waiting to see with her power set. Legit cosmic hand to hand fighting.

Very excited to see what DaCosta does with this.

The first one was solid to me, but some of the directing/writing was off. Hopefully Carol is more like how The Russos handled her, even in a short period of time. And even her appearance in What If? Her scenes were gorgeous and that can easily be done in live action, as SonOfAGif said above me ^^^

It literally can’t be any worse than the first…

Right?

@BlackBeltJones - no it can because I see the first one as a 2/7, like the first Venom… but the second Venom was a 1/7. But would Marvel ever go full Venom: Let There Be Carnage? I don’t think so really. I’m expecting a 4 or 5. Ragnarok is a 6 for me. So yeah I expect good things… OT coursexthats Taika. So like I said, a 4 or 5

@TheWalkingCuban - the only thing that brings me hope is that they had the good sense to get rid of the directors

Didn’t care much for the first one, was glad they changed directors because that was my main criticism with the first.

Then I ended up not liking Candyman, but I did enjoy some of the director choices, so we’ll see how this goes.
