SPOILERS: UNWORTHY THOR #5 Finally Reveals The Secret Nick Fury Whispered To Thor

It's been a long time coming, but Unworthy Thor #5 has finally shown readers the words that Nick Fury said in Original Sin to make Thor Odinson "unworthy" of wielding Mjolnir. Read on for more...

It may be hard to believe, but it's been three years since Thor Odinson lost his ability to wield Mjolnir at the hands of an aging Nick Fury. 2014's Original Sin event saw the God of Thunder neutralized by Fury, who spoke three mysterious words that left Thor "unworthy". Fans have been very eager to learn what could have possibly brought the Odinson to his knees, and now Unworthy Thor #5 has revealed the surprising sentence:

"Gorr was right." Gorr of course, is the "God Butcher", a villain first introduced in 2013's Thor: God of Thunder, who took an oath of vengeance upon the gods after years of having his and his families' prayers go unanswered. Gorr built a "Godbomb" to slay them all, and it took Thor teaming up with his past and future selves in order to defeat him. While they fought, Gorr taunted Thor with his viewpoint on the gods:

“You know I’m right. That’s why you fight so hard. Why you try so desperately hard to seem noble. Because you see just how petty and useless your kind truly are. You know what I know. That gods have never created or cared for anything except themselves.”

It seems that Thor was brought down by his own self-doubt in the end. How this will play out in the future - and what it has to do with Jane Foster and the new "War Thor" - remains to be seen. Let us know what you think of these new developments in the comments!
