Disney Reveals Shocking Price For STAR WARS: GALACTIC STARCRUISER Vacation; Sample Itinerary Released
Disney's Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser promises to be a vacation unlike any you've ever experienced at the parks, but the price tag associated with the two-night, immersive voyage has left many shocked.
When Disney first announced plans for its Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser vacation package, we expected it would cost quite a bit of money. After all, traveling to a galaxy far, far away doesn’t come cheap. But even with that expectation, the confirmed price tag for Disney’s new hotel vacation package is shockingly expensive.
For those unfamiliar, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is akin to a cruise package. You pay a flat rate price for a cabin or suite and embark on a two-night, immersive voyage (except you don’t really travel anywhere). The hook with the Galactic Starcruiser is that it’s “part live immersive theater, part themed environment, part culinary extravaganza, part real-life role-playing game.” You’re essentially role-playing as a character within the Star Wars universe, with the decisions you make on your interactive journey actually carving your very own story experience.
“Step off the launch pod and into your own epic Star Wars story, one where you decide your fate. While your story unfolds, you’ll have the power to choose your path. Will you follow the rule of the First Order or join the Resistance in a secret plot? Strike a bargain with a gang of smugglers or sit back, sip a cocktail and watch it all from a safe distance?”
Voyages for the Galactic Starcruiser are expected to begin in Spring 2022, but Disney has revealed some sample pricing for standard cabins for weeknights in August and September 2022. For two guests in a standard cabin, the voyage total is $4,809 (or $1,209 per guest per night). For three guests per cabin (2 adults, 1 child), the total is $5,299 (or $889 per guest per night).
The third option is for four guests (3 adults, 1 child) and costs $5,999 (or $749 per guest per night). Unless Disney is encouraging intergalactic throuples on board its starcruiser, it’s a bit odd that they’d post three adults to a room and not your typical standard family makeup of two adults and two children.
In any case, it’s clear that a trip aboard the Galactic Starcruiser will hit the wallet pretty hard. It’s worth noting that the vacation package also includes meals (excluding alcoholic and specialty beverages), nearly nonstop entertainment, and entry to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (as well as the rest of Disney’s Hollywood Studios) for your “planetary excursion to Batuu.” You can check out the full sample itinerary here, but some of the highlights include Sabacc lessons, multiple "story moments" that determine your adventure, lightsaber training, a droid racing competition, and more.
While Disney’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is undoubtedly going to be an incredible experience -- unlike anything we’ve ever seen offered from a theme park -- the price tag associated with it has frustrated many middle class families who are starting to believe the Mouse now only caters to the wealthy.
What do you think of the pricing for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser? Would you pay for the experience?
