It was way back in January when Sir Patrick Stewart confirmed that he'd met with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige to discuss a possible return as Professor X. Then, earlier this summer, reports surfaced which claimed the actor would reprise the iconic role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (that was followed by reports that the leader of the X-Men was set to battle the Scarlet Witch).

Today, the plot has thickened with more "leaked" pre-vis imagery from the sequel depicting that battle. Another features Wanda Maximoff covered in blood, and a Reddit user, u/MyTimeToShineHello (who has shared reliable leaks in the past), claims to have revealed what is going on here.

Searching for her children, Wanda Maximoff reportedly travels from world to world (using her mind since she's unable to physically jump between realities) and ends up in one reality where her Variant is pitted against the Illuminati. If past reports are to be believed, that group will be made up of Professor X, Captain Carter, Balder the Brave, Monica Rambeau, and Mordo.

It now looks like these will all be alternate reality versions of the characters, but we're struggling to figure out what the heck is going on that leads to the Scarlet Witch brutally killing the group.

Regardless, there are a couple of possibilities here. These images are fakes inspired by either real or bogus rumors, or what scoopers on social media looking for clout have been basing their stories on. Either way, we have a feeling these are legit, and a good indication that this film is going to get pretty crazy.
