The world premiere of Eternals took place last night and the first wave of reactions have now been revealed. It probably won't shock you to learn that most of these are glowing, and it's definitely looking like Marvel Studios has another critical hit on their hands after teaming with Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao.

It sounds like the post-credits scenes are unmissable for this one, but a couple of critics make some very interesting comparisons to the DC Extended Universe.

As you can see, one says it "feels like a DC film" (but not in a bad way), while another goes so far as to say this is the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of Zack Snyder's Justice League. We can't wait to find out what that means, though the general consensus seems to be that this is a very special movie.

A few spoilery comments have started finding their way online from a very small minority of critics, so you should probably go ahead and mute "Eternals" on Twitter starting now if you want to avoid them.

Check out these first Eternals reactions below:

@Spike101 - Humor happens everyday in normal life, why should a comic book movie be dour and completely devoid of humor? As long as they dont go overboard with it, I welcome the humor.

@Shivermetimbers - the humour added to Marvel movies since Disney took control isn’t like anything you would find in the source material

@Spike101 - Its definitely more than the comics had (most comics anyway), but let's be real, the formats are vastly different ways of telling stories. If you want to get an audience to be emotionally invested in likeable characters and keep audience interest, humor is a fine way to do that. I would like to see them reign it in occasionally, but I cant say that I have ever disliked a marvel movie because of the humor.

@Spike101 - I agree, serious situations should be taken seriously. Its only because Iron Man had some funny moments, now every Marvel movie has to have jokes galore.

@marvel72 - yes absolutely some of it works. A classic example of what did was Steve and Sam running with ‘on your right’ Sam is a wise guy as is Clint and Star Lord or Rocket, their wise cracks work. It’s the forced of adds humour that makes me cringe like Thor trying to be funny or the Grand Master for example. Or the stupid joke at the end of the bus crash scene in Shang Chi which resulted in what started off as an amazing fight scene being ruined

@Shivermetimbers - yes that makes sense. I really liked the darker feel if the Netflix shows.

I wish Marvel would take a break on the "joke every other line" kind of script. It seems the tradition lives on lol

@bobevanz - I think it's a mandate. Certainly explains the "fighting pose" scene in black widow. It's so awkward in context considering it's right after Natasha says she didn't even bother checking if yelena was still alive and that she never viewed her as a sister. Like, wtf?
