Eight weeks after release, Marvel Music and Hollywood Records' Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix, Vol. 1 (featuring artists like 10CC, Jackson 5 and Redbone) has been certified Gold after selling over 500,000 copies worldwide! As if that wasn't already impressive enough, the album hit the top spot on iTunes in 60 different territories. It probably shouldn't come as too much of a surprise of course as the soundtrack is absolutely fantastic and contains some brilliant songs which easily appeal to people of all ages.
As of right now, Guardians of the Galaxy has earned over $630 million worldwide and currently holds the record of having the biggest August debut of all-time and is also the biggest release ever for that month. Did you guys pick up a copy of the soundtrack? Which song was your favourite?
