GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Star Dave Bautista Says There's "Not A Chance In Hell" He'd Do A DRAX Disney+ Series
Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Endgame star Dave Bautista has made it clear he has no interest in playing Drax on Disney+ while venting his frustrations about no Guardians getting their own shows.
Asked about all the Marvel Studios projects that are currently in the works for Disney+, the pro wrestler turned actor admitted that he was initially a little annoyed that none of the Guardians were getting their own shows.
"Yeah, I was shocked," the Avengers: Endgame star admitted. "I got on my Twitter for a second and started to bash them for not making-like, not one Guardians [of the Galaxy] character got a TV show. Like, how does that happen? There’s so many interesting characters in that world. I just don’t get it."
"But, then I thought, I don’t know what they have in mind and I don’t know what they have planned, I get that they take all their marquee characters and they gave them shows, so I don’t want to take away from that just ‘cause I’m bitter that nobody from our series [got one]," Bautista added.
It's probably for the best he didn't hit the "Tweet" button, because it's not as if Marvel Studios was being deliberately discriminatory against the Guardians cast! After all, their respective stories will continue in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, while a Holiday Special featuring the characters is also in the works for the streaming service.
Regardless, Bautista admits that even if a Drax series was offered to him, he'd have to turn Marvel Studios down.
"Honestly, if they offered me a series, I wouldn’t do it. Not a chance in hell would I do a TV series playing Drax. That is a make-up nightmare. I would be miserable. Yeah, that make-up isn’t fun. It’s awful, so I’m not gonna sign up to do a series where I’m in that make-up every day."
Your guess is as good as ours when it comes to Drax's future, but Bautista has become increasingly outspoken about his role in the MCU ever since Disney made the decision to (briefly) fire James Gunn.
Do you think any of the Guardians deserve their own TV show on Disney+?
