GOTG VOL. 3 Director James Gunn Hints That Actors From THE SUICIDE SQUAD Could Appear
James Gunn is known for working with a lot of the same actors in his projects, and has now strongly hinted that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 could feature certain cast members from The Suicide Squad.
With The Suicide Squad now playing in theaters and the Peacemaker HBO Max spinoff show in the can, James Gunn is focusing on his upcoming return to the MCU for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Gunn has been working on the movie for quite a while, and took to Twitter last night to share a photo of a stack of hand-drawn storyboards. When a fan responded by asking if he plans to cast any actors from The Suicide Squad in the Marvel threequel, the filmmaker said it was "a distinct possibility."
We're sure Gunn has a pretty good idea of who he'd like to cast in the new roles Vol. 3 will introduce at this stage, but we still don't know who those characters will be. Adam Warlock is rumored (though Gunn appeared to debunk the most recent report), but with specific plot details still under wraps, it's difficult to narrow down the possibilities. As for which cast members from TSS could make the jump to the MCU, he's not exactly stick for options!
That is a distinct possibility. https://t.co/UrFRaGyd6w— James Gunn (@JamesGunn) September 13, 2021
Stack of hand drawn storyboards I just finished from the past few days for #GuardiansoftheGalaxyVol3. This represents 12 pages of script & will be the foundation for this section of the film. Designing the film like this is the most important part of my job at this point. pic.twitter.com/AdUWakUr3W— James Gunn (@JamesGunn) September 12, 2021
We're sure Gunn will share more soon, but for now, all we know for certain is that the core team will return for more intergalactic adventures, and there's a pretty good chance not all of 'em will make it to the end credits!
