In what is being marketed as Jamie Lee Curtis' final confrontation with Michael Myers, fans are steadily becoming more excited for the new Halloween movie after the initial trailer. Returning its roots by including several former cast members, the film aims to be a true successor to the 1978 original, serving as a 40 year anniversary celebration for the Halloween franchise.
As part of Entertainment Weekly's San Diego Comic-Con preview issue, the outlet has revealed a new still from the sequel, as well as commentary from Stronger director David Gordon Green. For fans who are worried that the 2018 film will disregard most of its predecessors, here's what he had to say:
This film isn’t one to narratively recognize any of the films other than the original Halloween . . . But we very much enjoy the other films and there’s a lot of very subtle shout-outs to a number of things that I think the big fans — the people that know the films scientifically — will get a kick out of.
It has become clear that the crew behind the film is very confident in what they have in store. In fact, superstar producer Jason Blum, who has defined modern horror, took to Twitter to deliver his thoughts.
